My friends and I popped in for a series of piercings, an eyebrow, a tragus and a forward helix, process and paperwork were straight forward, no big deal, shop seemed clean and efficient. My concerns are raised as we were not offered any aftercare instructions or product.... we've all had piercings so not a terrible misstep however... disconcerting. The real red flag was when we were informed that we weren't allowed to film the piercings as we would be ejected from the establishment should the owner catch us.. not sure if the piercer was joking, but he was rather dry leading me to believe he wasn't. we felt terribly unwelcome afterward and I don't know that we would come back after such an experience. The piercings were well done though so kudos there I guess. read more

I got my nose pierced here and my navel. Everyone is super friendly and $10 thursdays for piercings is awesome!! I'll definitely be back for some more piercings from them. read more

I am not one for writing bad reviews and I hate doing it but I just feel like this has to be known. First of all, me and my friend went and got our nose pierced back in December, we both have had problems since. First they take your money before you even get your piercings done, and theres no refunds from there on out. I notice this guy is speeding through piercings and when I finally go to get my piercing done the guy was extremely rude. Im trying to ask questions to insure everything will heal right. Anything I ask hes like "yeah" "mhm". At that point I didn't trust it and wanted to back out but they already took my money. It took a month and it got infected bad, I did everything I could, I even went and got a spacer put in, after 4 months of this piercing being infected I finally took it out today per a recommendation of another piercer. I do not recommend this place at all for piercings. I should have listened to my friends. read more

I had been here before a couple of years ago for a new tattoo. I was very pleased with the ink, the cleanliness, and professionalism. When I decided to get my nipples pierced I decided to go back. The shop was very clean. I'm very pleased with the results. My piercer, Unfortunately I can't remember his name, was very professional. As a nurse I was very pleased when he showed me the sterilized packages and properly used a sterile field. He explained the procedure and did the piercings so fast I hardly felt it! Aftercare instructions were very thorough. I highly recommend this shop and will be back if I decide to do any further work. read more

I went by the tatto shop this past Sunday. I have a tattoo that David did in 2008 and it is really faded. I called and was told that he would be out until Wed or Thurs but I went over anyway to speak to another artists. I pulled up and 3 tattoo artist were hanging outside and I told one of them what I wanted. He said, let me grab the artist on duty, the new guy. I talked to him and he said he had an appointment at 3 but could come by at 5. I was upset because there were 3 artists outside just hanging out and talking and just figured that was strange. I have to say that I have been to the shop several times and had many pieces from them and that just upset me a little bit, it seems like as they grew the service isn't what it once was. read more

Got another helix done here about 3 weeks after my first review. When I was driving home I noticed.. The top piercing was a 14 g. And the bottom a standard 16 g, so the rings were touching and it looked way too crowded. I was kind of annoyed I was pierced at different sizes without being asked so I drove back in to get my 14 g a smaller CBR. I had to buy another ring, but I am planning to stretch it back up so I didn't mind too much. Kat changed it for me- I've had her a few times and she is very nice and put up with all my stupid questions, and she definitely knows her stuff. It turns out they DO have aftercare sheets (which are pretty comprehensive), but the other guy forgot to give it to me the first time. I've moved to Dallas since then and I only further appreciate their prices as compared to the 50 dollar fees they charge up here... read more

Worst tattoo/piercing shop in the area. Got a tattoo from here for over $300. The lady didn't even finish my tattoo, leaving my body looking disgusting with a half finished flower, told me to come back for the other half. She had quit and I couldnt even get a refund or the other half fixed. The flower was very portly shaded and uneven. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Including the piercings. You get what you pay for. So don't be surprised when your $10 piercings get infected. read more

I've been pierced there 3 times- Rook, tragus, cartilage, and they've helped me with changing my jewelry and given me help with cleaning tips. I love it there. David is a great piercer, and my rook didn't even hurt. The other girl piercer did the others, and although I have yet to know her name, we've talked quite a lot while I've been there. I will definitely go there for future piercings. (hopefully getting my lip done soon) I know people who have gotten tattoos there too, but I wouldn't, because the tattoo area doesn't look too sanitary, but hey, Judge for yourself. It's a great place. And they have 10 dollar piercings on Thursdays! (tragus was 15, because its considered irregular) read more

My husband and I had been talking for a while about getting new tattoos, and so we dropped by on Friday night. We hadn't decided to actually go until we were literally on the way. Camille and Bobbie took care of us! Camille did my 9th tattoo and it is fantastic. Clean lines, solid shading. She listened to what I wanted and I love it. Going back in a few weeks once it's healed to add some more color. Bobbie did an awesome cover up/fix of a compass tattoo my husband had gotten a few years ago. She drew up a design that helped give it more definition and look less crooked, and the finished product is amazing. It looks so much better. The shop was clean, staff was great. Will definitely be going back! read more

There are many places to get tattoos in dfw and you have to weigh price, quality, and atmosphere to find what's right for you but north texas tattoo has it all. When I was quoted a price I thought it seemed about right for the simple design I wanted. Not only was i given what I wanted but the time was taken to give me more detail and artistic vision then I ever imagined. Anywhere else I would have either been quoted twice as much or got a very simple design. It was like asking for a child's line drawing and receiving a piece of art on my skin. As far as atmosphere there are tons of shops that have thousand dollar couches in the lobby and tons of artsy crap hung from the walls. What this shop lacks in visual bling they more than make up in is personality, friendliness, and willingness to talk with you to get you the best work possible. They will talk with you about placement and design without making you feel stupid. And when your in the chair, they are pleasant and professional. You are not their next client but at that moment their only client. If this is your first tattoo it will put you at ease and if your a seasoned veteran you will get the quality you look for. It is not just your local tattoo shop but one you will return to again and again. Again thanks kristal for not moving on to randy Adams or some other massive shop and leaving us with the other crappy shops in town. They say you get what you paid for.. I promise with this shop you'll get more. read more

Had no problem finding this place! There's a lengthy amount of parking in front of the store. I made sure to go a little bit passed the opening time because I know their $10 Thursday's are pretty popular. Walked right in, and was immediately greeted by AJ and got me to do a little bit a paper work/intro to what type of piercing I wanted. I went in for one cartilage. Super quick, super easy. AJ was very nice and made sure I was comfortable with the placement for the cartilage piercing. It didn't hurt at all coming from a person that doesn't like pain! After the cartilage, I decided to get another one just because it was such a great deal & AJ agreed on spot with no problem. Max time I spent here was about 10-12 mins. Definitely recommending this place to my friends & possibly coming back in the future! read more

I went for the first time to get my tattoo and piercing and I was scared. But once I walked into the shop I was smiling. Love the decor, all the artists were professional and helpful. My tattoo looked excellent and the piercing looked sexy at a reasonable price. Very clean environment and all instruments are sterilized without any possible infections. If you're looking to get a tattoo or any piercing, this is definitely the place to go. I'm coming back for my next tattoo for sure. Thanks so much read more

My sister and I came to get our Tragus pierced while she was visiting. They were very friendly and made us feel comfortable. The piercing was quick and painless for me. Also, they take debit/credit cards ($5 fee to do so) but I preferred that method of payment that day so that was convenient. read more

So I initially went in a couple of days ago but the employee said A.J. (The piercer) was on vacation until Thursday so he recommended I come back then since it would also be cheaper (they have a $10 piercing promotional every Thursday) Skip forward to today and I go to the shop. I decided to go a little earlier just in case it got busy so that I could be one of the first people. They open at 2:00 and I walked in at about 1:55. Kid you not, after about 10 minutes there were at least 12 people there so I recommend getting there right when they open. They require ID which they scan and make you fill out a form (super short, I literally had to sign my name, put my address and phone # and it was done). Fast forward to after I'm done filling out my paperwork, I have to wait a few minutes because A.J. was late. Slightly unprofessional so I was a bit miffed. When a business says they open at a certain time, they should be ready to serve the customers at that time, not be late and scramble to get things in order. So he calls my name and I go in the room, close the door and we get down to business (piercing. Not the other kind). Despite his tardiness, A.J. was really great, answered any and all questions I had about the jewelry they used and so forth. When it came time to actually do the piercing I freaked out a bit but he reassured me and let me know exactly what he was doing so that nothing was a surprise to me. The only thing I had a problem with was that another employee asked him a question as he was getting ready to pierce me which I thought was highly unprofessional... they should have waited until after he was done. Also, I had to ask for an aftercare sheet; he explained what I should do to clean my piercings but honestly I was so out of it from the adrenaline that I know I wasn't going to remember it. But other than that, it was decently okay. I got 2 piercings for $20. It was clean, the equipment was sterile. Fairly cut and dry. Overall not a terrible experience but there are some things that could be improved on. That being said, I would probably go back again for a piercing if I ever want another one. Additional info: parking is very limited. And when you pull into the parking lot, use the side entrance. The front will cause your car to scrape unless your car sits a little higher. read more

I went here to get my belly button pierced because this was my go to shop! After 2 days of having it the balls started to sink into my skin and caused pain. I thought this was just a healing process but it was in fact not. I went to another piercer who has done other piercings of mine before and she saw it and stated "we have to take that out or else your skin is going to grow over the balls". The bar that North Texas Tat put on me was way too small and left no heeling or breathing room. It was also placed way too high for a naval piercing. The second shop who helped me out kindly took out my piercing because no bar would fit properly because it was pierced crooked and way too high so we made the safest decision and that was to take it out and let it heal. read more

It's interesting that a business that brags about customer service on its website could be so appalling. Immediately after walking through the door, the female artist (assuming that was Kristal) looked put out that she even had to acknowledge us. After explaining what I wanted, she was completely condescending and short. I have no doubts that amazing tattoos come from this business, but I can't bring myself to spend any money toward a place that treats new customers like trash. read more

Aj was amazing! I was very pleased with how professional he did my piercing, and the fact that you can tell he loves his job is a bonus. The previous girl was terrible so I will definitely be coming back! read more

I got a nose piercing about a month or so ago. It was quick and easy. The things I didn't like was the guy wasn't very social who did the piercing. He didn't brief me on how to take care of my piercing or give me the paper on how to take care of it. I had to ask for it. He just basically did it and left out of the room. I would probably go back because of the convience of location and prices. It wasn't a bad experience, I just feel he could have been a little bit more friendly and informative. read more

I got two piercings from AJ. He was helpful and professional. I went in on Thursday and got both piercings for $10 each because of their 10 dollar Thursday. Clean and quick, definitely recommend for piercings. read more

Not a bad experience, just not great. Piercer seemed to be in a huge hurry. He didn't go over any after care with me. You can see the mark he made in my ear, and it's almost a centimeter away from where he actually pierced me. Don't think I will be using his services again. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! They posted on their Facebook that they were doing $10 piercings from Christmas til the end of the year. I called in advance to make sure it was still true, guy on the phone said yes. Drove there and this other guy didn't seem to know what I was talking about when I mentioned their own post. Additionally, I was told I missed the piercer by 30 min. However, the guy said I could come back New Year's Day since it's a Thursday if I still wanted a $10 piercing. Again I drove there, and the place was closed! They either enjoy lying to potential customers, have bad communication between each other, or a little bit of both. Not to mention upon walking in the first time the place looked unkept and unsanitary, so I probably saved myself from getting an infection. Congrats on losing business! read more

Terrible service, nasty facility and even more terrible artwork.... don't waste your time or money on this waste of space

I've came here for two tattoos and multiple piercings, the process is always quick, clean and comfortable. Some tattoo shops are intimating to walk into but the staff is welcoming and very down to earth! Just got my nose pierced this last Thursday and there was a line because it was $10 piercing day but it went by super quick! read more

I got a nose piercing paying their Th $10 special price, which is an awesome deal! It was quick and relatively painless. I felt like the girl who did my piercing was very professional and was very tolerant of my friends in the room taking pictures and laughing and gawking through the whole process, which made everything more fun. The whole thing was sooo fast. Nice to not prolong the pain and anticipation. They have a nice collection of jewelry, and as Belinda said their starter jewelry is pretty nice. They weren't super friendly -- I didn't even learn the name of the girl who pierced me, let alone any other conversation -- but that was fine with me, as I was more focused on my friends and my cool new piercing. read more

update to visits to North Texas Tattoo: went back a year later for a larger piece of art. David, the owner/manager, had worked on the art from an album cover and I was very satisfied with the image. Took three hours and two cig breaks for him, but left feeling happy, again, and couldn't wait to show it to my friends. This is STILL an awesome business - David is an excellent tattoo artist and his staff are all neat people, fun to be around. read more

I walked into North Texas Tattoo today and I have never felt more comfortable in a tattoo shop. I was getting my first tattoo and had some past experiences with talking to other artists that didn't make me feel like they were there for me and do exactly what I wanted. The people at NTT made me feel exactly the way I wanted to feel for my tattoo. They answered every question I had and gave me advice for my first one. I also sent back my tattoo sketch a couple of times because I really wanted them to know exactly what I wanted and they happily corrected what I asked and it turned out perfect. What I guess I'm saying is, I had a great experience there (especially with Cyco); it was very clean, and the people there were kind and attentive. I would definitely recommend this shop to others who are getting their first for fiftieth tattoo. They definitely deserve the five star rating! read more

Cool place and likely pretty clean. Wouldn't recommended going on $10 Thursdays, they are super busy and don't pay much attention to each client. A friend of mine got nipple piercings that were recommended by a highly rated and more experienced piecer, to be taken out because they were pierced improperly (with a ring, and VERY crooked, bars would not work in them) and she was told if left in it could potentially split her nipple. After dealing with the healing process to find out 2 months later it was done improperly was disappointing. I got my helix done which has healed nicely but would be very cautious of more sensitive piercings especially on their deal nights. read more

Absolute amazing service, and this will be my to-go-to place from now on if I ever get another piercing. AJ took care of me and was even able to wiggle a ring through my belly button hole when the last tattoo place I'd gone to had lied to me and told me that my naval piercing hole and closed, which it didn't - they just wanted more money. Luckily for people with actual morals like AJ, the problem was easily fixed. I really appreciate his honesty. Also, on Thursdays, you can get a basic piercing for $10, including the jewelry. That is SUCH a steal, so you better tip! :P I tipped 20%. Worth every penny. read more

Read a bunch of reviews about this place and their exceptionally amazing piercer - AJ. So I decided to go and get my lip done. AJ was extremely professional and had a great sense of humor. Place was clean and the guy behind the counter was nice. However my piercing is very crooked.

Boyfriend and I went in today (Thursday) for the $10 piercings. We both got our tongues pierced and I'm glad we came here! I was freaking out majorly about this piercing but AJ did it so quick I couldn't even think about it. From the time we walked in, to the time we walked out, we spent no more than 10 minutes there, and there were 2 (maybe 3?) people in front of us. Will definitely go back when I work up the balls for another piercing! read more

I went to Dave for my first tattoo after reading the reviews on here. I must say he over succeeded my expectations. The interior was immaculately clean and the staff very welcoming.
