My husband and I went to Urban Tattoo because they had good ratings and we are both very glad we made that decision! We both were walk-ins and were able to have a good amount of time to have a consultation. My husband got a Chinese lantern done by Cuda. Cuda did a phenomenal job at explaining and breaking down the whole process. He also elevated my husband's original idea into something unique whilst still keeping the elements that my husband wanted. I got a lantern done by Rocky. Rocky took the pictures I had shown him and created something more personal to me. He also was quick to adjust what I liked and disliked. During the session, Rocky was pleasant to talk to and made sure I was doing well for the whole process. So glad I called! I've been wanting a lion tattoo for some time now and I finally decided to treat myself for my birthday. I called and spoke to Rocky and he asked me to text him the picture of what I wanted (since I already had it) and he right away reviewed it and called back with a quote; he got me in the very same day! The inside is decorated to the max! I found myself wanting to explore each room just to check out the amazing artwork. There's a nice lobby and waiting area with a sofas, chairs and a projector. Rocky had my tattoo sketched and ready to try on when I arrived. He gave great input as to location of the tattoo and how it would sit on my body. Rocky was very informative during the process as to what he was doing and why. We took a break about every couple of hours and I was offered something to drink and a snack. There was also a TV in the room and he asked what I wanted to watch. I appreciated how Rocky kept me involved in what was going on and continuously asked how I was feeling and if I was liking his work. I wanted to get a couple of new ear piercings and went here based on some other recommendations I had seen. I tried to call to see if I needed an appointment, but the voicemail box was full, so I just drove over there. There were one or two people ahead of me but they were not too busy for a Sunday; I think I waited maybe 20-30 minutes. (I did learn that there was a later appointment for several people who were coming together from out of town, so I was lucky I showed up when I did). Cody is very nice and professional and helped me pick out jewelry and showed me the best spot to get my cartilage (helix) piercing. It's a very sterile environment and the waiting room is clean and comfortable with couches and a TV. My piercings were nearly painless and only took a few minutes. I wanted my service dog's paw print on the location he alerts me (whose alert is quick and messy, which is reflected well in the tattoo...I couldn't have asked for something more accurate). Cuda is so talented, I was actually falling asleep during my tattoo. A friend that stayed with my service dog during the tattoo said, "You realize you had needles going into your skin, but you fell asleep?" Yes, Cuda is that good, and the tattoo looks amazing. Came here last weekend as a walk-in and they were able to fit me in even though they were closed for the holiday! I had no idea, but they were all very nice and made me feel comfortable the whole time. As I waited they had a lounge where you can watch tv or another room where you can play old games like Pac-Man and such. My tattoo artist was Damien and he did a great job. He was able to do what I asked and it came out really beautiful and wasn't painful at all. He was also very informative on after care for the tattoo. I would highly recommend coming here for a tattoo. The minimum for a tat here is $100. I'll likely come back here for any more I am looking to get in the future. read more

This is not what I want to be greeted with when I am speaking to someone who's going to see my nipples. . also the small area he quoted to $700-$1200. Completely outrageous! Each time, I have come to him with an idea and maybe a picture or two to show what I'm thinking, but I have never had a definite idea of what I want AND every time, he manages to draw out what I want and color it in a way that is amazing. I have the AA triangle on one forearm, a lotus on the other, and an abstract ocean tattoo on my right calf. They are all far better than the other tattoos I had done previously and I receive compliments ALL of the time on all three. Plus, he's fun to talk to while you're getting the tattoo. What a great experience at this studio! From the minute I walked in to the time I left, everyone there was friendly, professional, and helpful. They made me feel right at home. I was getting two tattoos done and, after showing the young lady at the front what I was looking for, she introduced me to Eric. He was so polite, professional, and wanted to make sure he understood exactly what I wanted. One tattoo was my mom's signature on my forearm and the other was a long tattoo on the bottom edge of my foot. The entire experience was easy. As much as I hate being a cliche, my friend and I were the epitome of nervous, giggly girls getting tatted for the first time (with a few added years and a little more cool). I've been meaning to share this review since I got tattooed here. It's been a while, but my dad & I visited this shop together & received tattoos on the same date. His turned out wonderfully, whereas mine looks to be of poor quality in comparison. Tattoo artist was fine, the healing process was fine, but for such a simple tattoo design, I'm not sure what could have occurred for the line work on the dagger to be so horrible. It's crooked & NOTICEABLY so. Wouldn't recommend visiting this place. Paid $120 for a few lines & not even all of them were straight. read more

I'm rating 1 star because one of the piercers there is great! I'm not sure if he still works there though. My reason for not giving 5 stars is the TERRIBLE tattoo my husband received from Isaac. He asked for the joker and Harley Quinn with the joker dressed in marine dress blues in the traditional sailor hug pose (photo attached) and instead got to his appointment after taking time off work and the artist hadn't even completed his design and what he had done was completely different to what he asked. My husband got the tattoo anyway and once he arrived home I pointed out that the artist had mangled the design, Harley's hand was messed up, her head was disproportionate and it couldn't have been farther from what was asked. My husband agreed to the design which is on him, but was told he would be charged more if the artist had to redesign. I feel that the artist rushed the design and the tattoo and didn't have any passion for the work. We spent so much time going through the portfolios in store and it's clear they are selective with what work they show. I also went in for a tattoo in March/April of this year and wanted some scripture, after less than a month it had faded out and had turned grey and blotchy. I feel like the 2 artists we saw ruined our experience there which is a shame. Updating my review as I went back to the store last week to see if they had any new artists and give them another chance, whoever the guy was that I spoke with was ridiculously rude. He tried telling me they had a $100 minimum even though I'd only paid $50 for my scripture I'd had last year and he insisted I was crazy and had it done somewhere else (like I wouldn't know ) then when I told him the artist that did it he proceeded to try and tell me he didn't ever work there, so either they're letting random dudes tattoo in their shop or they're just full of crap. It's a shame because their work online and in portfolios is fantastic, we have just had terrible experiences. read more

Not only is he extremely knowledgeable in his craft but he exudes confidence that makes you relax and feel completely secure in your piercing decision. The place is extremely sanitary and he even did more sanitation of the room in front of me so I knew I was in a clean environment. I went through a consultation to make sure my ear was a decent shape to even get the industrial piercing and he even talked me through why my right ear was more suitable then my left. He talks you through everything he is doing so their are zero surprises, his technique leaves little pain to deal with as well. This man is just contagiously friendly. He has all his clients swing by for a free follow up so he knows you're healing well and that is very conforting to know you're not just a dollar sign walking through, he truly cares about his work and clients. This is the best tattoo and piercing shop I have ever been to. It is very clean and they answer all your questions. They calm any of your fears. I got a foot and hand tattoo. Also got my nose and nipple pierced and it was all very simple and did not hurt as bad as I thought it would. Chandler did all my work and he was very kind and patient with me. I was a little bit nervous for the nipple piercing but he assured me it was not that bad and that the pain would not last and would be over before I know it. He let me look at each mark and drawing to make sure I was happy before he pierced or tattooed. I was able to listen to music through my headphones without him getting frustrated like some people have in the past. I will definitely be going back here in the near future. I stopped in here while on vacation to get my septum pierced. I looked through yelp before I chose this shop and I have to say, their awesome score is well deserved. The staff was very friendly, knowledgable and gave me honest advice. My piercing was a bit complicated due to scarring inside my nose from an operation I had a while back. Amanda explained the risks associated and mentioned it would be tough to make it straight. I decided to go for it anyways. She rocked it! She did it without a clamp and it's so perfect! It's straight, it's healing really well, and I get compliments all the time. Amanda's uber talented and I'm sad I don't live around there so I won't be able to go to her for future piercings. Speaking to their honesty and advice, they even suggested my friend wait to get her piercing since she mentioned she's going to be swimming. Even though they were going to lose money if she chose not to get it done, they were honest. I really respect the ethics of this business. I had a really great experience here. I came here with my boyfriend for his birthday a few days ago as walk-in clients. The staff greeted us when we walked in and asked us what we wanted. The artist I got was Gerry. Gerry was friendly and did a great job of designing the tattoo I wanted based on what I described and the few photos I showed him as examples of what I was talking about.
