What struck me the most were the absolutely gorgeous flower gardens! It is so obvious that love, sweat, and tears have gone into making Kimball Farm a destination, not just for the ice cream and activities but for the beautiful flowers. The garden beds rival those at a botanical garden. We were lucky enough to meet Christine, the resident gardener, and her passion and knowledge and excitement about her beautiful gardens is so apparent. We will return, and I plan to bring some family members to grab some ice cream and view the gardens!

My…read morefam went once for the holiday lights in December and recently for the Day Out with Thomas Event. Both times my family and I have had a ton of fun. My son is five and the majority of rides are perfect for him. This is truly a great spot for young elementary school aged kids and younger. There are a few rides where you have to be taller and keep the older kids a bit more engaged and plenty of rides for the younger bunch. Is this place pricey-- yes! But show me an amusement park that isn't. The tickets are high, but you can spend at least four+ hours at the park. We have not encountered crazy lines as others have. The Topham Hat car ride always has a longer wait at around 20ish minutes, but for almost all the others we never waited more than 5-10 minutes. The steam train ride is nice and it's a pretty long ride around the park. If your child loves trains, they will love it here. All the model trains/tracks inside are great to look at as well. It is a little weird how they must have lost their Thomas the Train licensing and the Thomas area very clearly used to be Sodor but now is a winter village. Things like the Dieselworks and the Troublesome Trucks are still pretty clear, even it it's not official. The food here is pretty standard. There is a local BBQ place that must rent out on of the stalls though, because their food was super tasty. Otherwise it's more hot dog, chicken nuggets, fried dough, popcorn, etc. I never went to Edaville before the new owners took over, so maybe that is why my perspective is different-- I have nothing to compare it to. Looking through old pictures though, I do hope they bring dinoland back! My family will be heading back in December for their Festival of Lights!

I have collected Edaville souvenirs and memorabilia for as long as I could remember and I don't wanna say that I'm a train enthusiast, but my career is ON a railroad. I was seriously delighted to hear that the KRF group was going to tackle keeping the Christmas season alive at Edaville! Before our visit, a lot of the local pages on Facebook had naysayers and doubters, and I took the reins trying to be positive: "If it wasn't for the KRF group, there would be no Edaville, since the previous owner gave up and sold off all of the rides." With all that said, we visited with an open heart and mind, and were sadly, completely underwhelmed. Yes, I did notice there were more lights around the park -more so than the last few years. I thought that the giant Christmas tree just beyond the entrance was quite lovely. And, I hate to say it, but that's the end of what delighted me. The shops from the last few years were missing (Hippie Pilgrim, the antiques, the hand painted ornaments,) and the only shops to visit (and there were so few) were those also featured during the renaissance faire. To be honest, some of those shops featured Christmas items, but mostly, it was confusing and completely underwhelming. To call anything on the advertising and Edaville ticket pages a "Merry Marketplace" was quite deceiving. The Jingle Bar, advertised as 21+, was fun and festive but it was crowded with children. And the thing that really disappointed me the most? PortaPotties! It was 33° and I know the Venue has bathroom facilities! To make people use outdoor, frigid cold toilets and cold water is downright cruel! To charge $28 for a visit that doesn't include a train ride, to shop in 10-15 shops featuring old English provisions, and to pee in a PortaPotty, is a crime.

There is a playground for the little ones, and many gift shops and food shacks around the zoo. We have always had a great experience here, and it will be our tradition for many years to come! I don't remember the entrance being as expensive as it was: $38 per person but as a AAA member we scored a $2 discount each. There were three free shows/ presentations going on that day, which were posted on a big dry erase board: bird show, sloth talk, and an earth discovery creature feature. We made 2 out of 3 of them. My favorite was the bird show where they brought out 6-8 unique birds and each of them did a trick for the crowd, all while the trainers gave us fun facts about them. They had bleacher seating so very comfortable show. At the end, they had one bird who could take your money (voluntarily) and put it into a box with its beak. The money was going towards a good cause, so I donated. The sloth talk was also cool. We got to hear interesting facts about sloths and watch the sloth eat their lunch. They were also doing a Frozen skit / play for the kids when we arrived and it was pretty good and kept the kids there engaged. They have a great selection of animals throughout the zoo including large ones like rhinos, giraffes, tigers, and lions but also smaller ones like pigeons, ravens, parakeets, and prairie dogs. I did not go on / into any, but they have an overhead lift you can ride, zip lining, and a maze (not free). There is also a petting and feeding area with goats. One thing I remember there being was a deer park but I think it was closed off this time which was a bummer. For the most part, the zoo is shaded. They also have gift shops, snacks/drinks, and bathrooms throughout the park. We spent about 2.5 hours there, but might've missed a couple animals. The staff is friendly and helped us find our way around. There is a map and it's pretty good but we were just running low on time to make it to one of the events.

My son has a weird affinity for goats so this was basically his heaven. We really didn't leave the goat area for long. The only other thing we did was the hayride, which was amazing and the animals come right up to the truck. I loved learning about all the different animals they have on the farm. We went in October and the goats were dressed up for Halloween which was adorable. My son loved the area where you can sit and hold the baby goats. For my goat loving son, it's definitely worth the fall trip.

Everyone who worked there was so kind and helpful. We went right after summer break when the weather was perfect, and it was a great time to go--low crowds and absolutely no wait times for anything. We also grabbed food at the BBQ restaurant on site, and it was surprisingly good--definitely worth stopping for food. The only downside is that entry tickets are a bit on the expensive side, especially if you're going as a whole family.

The more bizarre and surreal the better ... Dinosaur Land (White Post, VA, Professor Cline's Haunted Monsters Museum (Natural Bridge, VA), and Storybook Land (Egg Harbor Township, NJ) just to name a few. It's hard to say no to these wonderful time capsules. One that's been on our list for years is the original Santa's Land (no affiliation) in Putney, Vermont, which celebrates its 65th anniversary in 2022. After years of neglect and abandonment, I must admit we were a little apprehensive about the park taking on a more contemporary look. But thankfully that wasn't the case. We found the park to be quite enchanting complete with gingerbread men, life size elves from the 1950's and even an original carousel from Coney Island. Their larger-than-life slide will quickly remind you just how much fun can be had with a burlap sack. We had the pleasure of speaking with the new owner (of six and a half years). He recalled how he used to visit the park as a young child, and always told his parents that he wanted to one day own all of this. He not only made his dream come true, but he also saved the park from oblivion. The friendly staff seem to have a real passion for keeping this park alive and it shows! Thank you, THANK YOU, for a wonderful day. Santa's Land USA is a perfect balance of old and new for all to enjoy!

My family and I went on Sunday, August 16th and had the time of our lives! We had been here last year around this time, as well! Got there at 11:00am or so, and left at around 7:45pm. This just shows how much there is to do here, and how great it is for everyone! Some of us wanted to do the smaller rides, (the dragon (a kiddie ride) coaster, wave blaster, over the rainbow, and more!) and others wanted to do the big ones (untamed, yankee cannonball, Boston tea Party), and everyone appreciated and was happy with the rides that they did! For lunch, we went to the Sons of Liberty tavern, which is just across from Boston Tea party, the big flume ride. (Don't worry though, it's just out of the splash zone!) It was a little pricey, but everyone loved their food. For snacks around the park, you've got a lot of options. We got a bag of popcorn, Italian ice, and strawberry dole whip! (since they were unfortunately out of pineapple) Line-whise, the longest one we waited in was for Yankee Cannonball, which was around a 45 minute line. (The ride was awesome and worth it, though.) So, overall, we have had great experiences with Canobie Lake Park!! But once you get past the sentimental value, the cracks start to show. The biggest issue is the line experience, or honestly, the lack of one. There's no staff presence helping guests form or maintain any kind of organized queue, so the line turns into a free‑for‑all. People cutting, groups merging, confusion everywhere -- it takes away from the fun before you even reach the station. And speaking of the station, the ride itself feels like it's running on the bare minimum. For an older coaster, you expect a little rattle, but this feels more like low maintenance than vintage charm. Thunderbolt deserves better upkeep, especially given its legacy at the park. At the end of the day, the nostalgia is notable -- even special -- but the overall experience doesn't match the potential. With some attention to operations and maintenance, this could easily climb back into must‑ride territory. Hold on to your seats and try to enjoy

Mind Eraser... Success = Check!…read more This park here is a smaller six flags but coasters like this are amazing and again NO lines! I mean what makes theme parks fun? It's riding the rides! Like this one! Loops, corkscrews, feet in the wind, no headache after, no line... How can anyone not love this?! Quick and easy here - life is hard. Sometimes we just need to get high on LIFE and forget our problems in a healthy way. No drugs are necessary. This coaster loops, spins, and twists all my problems away. When I ride - all I am thinking about is the fun of the moment. The name is correct! My mind is erased on here and I love it! It is one of the reasons I love coasters... Take a break, rest my mind, and have a blast! Simple break down since it's not like some record breaker or something - Top suspended coaster roller coaster. It's not new but sure does travel smoothly. There is little to no line & I enjoy the roller coaster! The front, back, it's all great! I plan to use my Six Flags 2016 season pass and be on this roller coaster more than once every single visit. It's a great coaster at this park and you can actually RIDE it without waiting forever and ever and ever. Life is great and my mind was cleared from the life struggles we all face because... LIFE IS A ROLLER COASTER! Ride flying high and free... It's to short to not clear our mind and live it up. This coaster is simple awesome fun, a total BLAST, and it makes me HAPPY. I recommend it to coaster lover of all sorts. My followers know I will do anything to get on the tallest, fastest, craziest, record breaking or whatever anything roller coaster girl... Well your coaster lover friend right here says ride this and you will not be disappointed. Also, repeat because no lines much at all! I love riding the Mind Eraser. We purchased our tickets online, which saved $4 off the standard gate prices below: General Admission (ages 2-59): $39.95 Seniors (60+): $36.95 It's also worth checking with your local library before buying tickets. Many libraries offer discounted passes, and one family we spoke with said they saved $10 per ticket. There are plenty of things for children to do at this well-staffed attraction. Animal petting is always a highlight. In addition to petting goats, sheep, and cows, children can sit in a chair while staff members bring over baby goats for them to hold in their laps. There are also larger animals to see up close and, in many cases, feed, including camels, horses, goats, cows, sheep, pigs, emus, and ostriches. They also have a wide variety of active play areas for children, including: * Jumping Pad & Bounce House * Sand Play * Gem Mining * Duck Racing * Playground * Adventureland * Moo Town, a small children's play town with a schoolhouse, grocery store, diner, cabin, and more We didn't use the new Cowabunga Splash Park because it wasn't quite warm enough, but it looks like a great addition. Next summer, we'll try to visit on a warmer day so the kids can enjoy it. Food, drinks, and ice cream are available in the park, and there are plenty of picnic tables. You can also bring your own lunch. It wasn't very crowded during our visit, and everyone had a great time. Davis Farmland is a terrific attraction for younger children, with enough variety to easily keep them entertained for hours. We look forward to returning.

Today marked five years of our annual summer before school starts Davis Farmland trip. DF is such a…read morewonderful place for families with kids of all ages. There is so much to see and do, and it's the perfect spot for kids to run, explore, learn, and have fun. Everything is thoughtfully designed, the staff is friendly, and there are plenty of activities to keep little ones entertained. Activities: Multiple times a day they have a reptile show. Every hour they have a hayride that takes you out to a large pasture, seeing so many animals. There's a pony you can spend $10 to ride (90 pound limit for the pony ride). There's a giant splash pad with a giant blow up water slide, a foam pit, blow up slip n slides, sprinklers--so much! It's always where we end up last because the kids love it so much. You are welcome to bring in any food and drink to have while there, though there are multiple places throughout the park where you can get food and drinks as well. I do personally believe it is a bit expensive for a singular ticket ($40 ages 2 up), especially if you have multiple kids but you can spend open to close there so it is more or less worth the money. That all being said-- we had such a great time every time we visit, and it's definitely a place we'll continue coming back to. If you're looking for a fun, family-friendly day trip, I highly recommend Davis Farmland!
