I had a great first visit to the Davis Mega Maze! There was SO much to do before even starting the maze - games, food, animals to pet, and more. For the maze, I appreciated the optional intensity levels to add difficulty (great for adults wanting the max challenge). A fun, yummy bonus was candy handed out on the 3 bridges. I loved that there were activities inside the maze, something I hadn't seen anywhere before. There were several porta potties and hand washing stations. read more

This is the place to be if you have young kids. Davis Farm has baby animals, a giant splash pad, and several playgrounds and/or play areas. Farm animals include baby goats, pigs, cows, and alligators. Kids can feed and pet most of the animals. The splash pad is enormous which gives the kids plenty of room to play. This place will keep your children busy and tire them out on the way home. This place would have gotten 5 stars but it's difficult to get past the $38 entry fee for children and adults... seems like a bit much. read more

$71 for our family to get in. Was it worth it is what I ask myself. Let me also give some detail. This was the price for 2 adults and 1 child (infant free.) We stayed for 3.5 hours but 1 hr. was spent in line waiting for the zip line. So we entered in a little after 1:30pm. They had three cashiers open and it was moving extremely slow. If you do not fill out your waiver they only have one ipad out for waivers- so plan ahead! I did not know what to expect but what i see if a sea of people, children, stands and human sized games! Basically they took regular games and made them life sized such as human foosball, pool (where you stand on the green and kick) but also has regular games such as tug-o-war, slides and all kinds of activities! I can share the slides- even though the tubes are bumpy, they pick up speed! Even when you get spit out the white material is slippery and gives you an extra special kick of speed at the end! Thumbs up for the slides! Of course the kids (of all ages) loved the big pillow jumper. Want to use the 'corn' cannon? Paintball? Zip line or laser tag- costs extra! Boo! Honestly after paying $24.99 for an adult to get in and all I did was go down the slide 3 times, walk through the maze I shouldn't have to pay additional for the zip! I did zip and it was ok. I have zipped a good amount of times before and this was by far the shortest zip I have ever completed. Plus their system was not very fast and eventually closed down to only one person could zip at a time. 1 hour in line was ridiculous. Also, we did pay extra to blast corn but it wasn't corn- it was sliced red potatoes. Cool having a car as a target lifted in the field. But still- not worth the price. $12.95 for a caramel apple? Crazy. The 'glazed' cider donut wasn't really glazed. Glaze was drizzled on top and barely any glaze at that. It was ok but small for $1.99. Let's talk about Covid protocols here. I don't care if they do or do not require masks (they don't.) But I do care about them cleaning and having sanitizing stations available while we are still living in Covid times. There was hand sanitizer at the cashier station but nowhere else (note I did not sue the bathrooms here.) Also- I did not see one person cleaning and we are talking about kids who cannot be vaccinated at this time. Disappointed. So- worth $71+, No. read more

My family has been going to the Mega maze for many years. They kids love it the food was historically good, an all around great time. The last 2 years have been different. The Maze is still fun (but no longer spooky) But the food (which used to be a highlight) is shockingly bad. For average 15 for a plate you get cold Pre-prepared sandwich (burger/pulled pork/ chicken fingers, etc) and fries. With chips. I was shocked how poor the food was this year. Minimal selection maybe 12 items across 3 booths. Both my wife and son whom both got the "Moose Burger" got violently ill (nausea) when we got home, my other son did not even finish his chicken fingers and my pulled Pork sandwich was way more roll than pork and tasted like bottled sauce not home made. The fries were stone cold. What used to be a highlight (the BBQ a few years ago WAS very good and had a great selection of items). Is now just cold slop. It may be our final year after going for 8 years in a row. It is a shame to pay $100 for a family of 4 to enter them another $100 in food and drink and maybe another $50 in tickets for rides and other misc. Left very disappointed. I would not recommend going unless all you plan on doing is the maze and drinking beer. read more

I grew up in New England, but this was my first corn maze experience last fall, in my 30's! We had a blast. It was much more difficult to navigate than I'd expected - which was good! I didn't want to pay that much money and then be in and out in 20 minutes, but we (two adults) wandered for a good hour and a half maybe? They also set up a theme for the maze each year, and the brochure you get at the start gives you signs and clues to look for and a way to work through the maze that just adds another layer of fun to it. It's like a puzzle on top of the maze that turns it into even more of a game. Can't wait to go back this fall! read more

Two hours and 40 minutes of my normally lazy Sunday afternoon went to clamoring around in a few acres of 8-foot high corn, racing to find the exit of this giant maize maze. Time well spent friends. My companions and I felt like little kids, running into dead ends, giggling when we encountered the same people over and over again, sighing heavily when we again found ourselves at the place where we originally started! $17 gets you admission and there are free water coolers stationed around the maze, with a reasonably priced the snack stand at the "half way point." How a maze has a halfway point, I'll just never know, considering it took us two hours to find the halfway point and 40 minutes to find the exit thereafter. It just doesn't add up! Words to live by: Keep hydrated and keep your head up! This trickery of this maze will build you up, give you encouragement and break you right back down again. If you can make it out to Sterling during the season, test your will with this mental and physical challenge. read more

This maze was pretty incredible. It changes not only every year with the theme, but can "change" over the course of the day (for the daily changes, they use "do not enter" signs). If you actually spend time doing the various challenges or trying to find the map pieces - I suppose it changes with the themes - you could be in here for several hours. Yet it is such a fun way to blow through the day! According to the local paper, it's considered one of the top three corn mazes in the world... that says something. Based on what I experienced, I would believe that statement without a doubt! While you can request to be removed from the maze, expect to take at least 30 minutes if you are trying to get out quickly, or better yet, expect to take the average time of 1.5 hours in here. If you have issues with small spaces, people, nature, bugs, the sun, or fun... I suggest you not give this a shot. If fun is your passion, though, you'll have a grand time here! Oh, and if you have bladder/thirst issues, they do have water stations and porta-potties throughout the maze, but they warn you to go beforehand and bring your own water as the only way to get to those amenities is to actually find them. Davis megamaze is only ten minutes away from my house. Because of the intensity of the maze (if you actually dedicate yourself to go through with it, not cheat, and find yourself at the end without help) I usually only go once a year. Sometimes i make it a gathering and go on my birthday. This place is a refreshingly different idea for a day's worth of fun. Well what's there to say? It's a maze made out of corn. Don't expect this maze to be easy. It was designed by a famous maze-maker in england, and it was well worth the investment to have a specialist come up with the blueprints. You have to understand that mazes are meant to be amusing, fun, frustrating and tiring at the same time. It is a mental and physical challenge! You'll find yourself second-guessing. "have i been here before...or have i not?" your friends and family will only help perpetuate this issue when some of them swear you've been here before and others havent. There are several bridges within the maze that take you up to a level above the growing corn where you can only think you see the best route to take, but of course...it's never that easy. The theme of the maze changes every year. This year it's a tomb / egyptian theme. I've also seen a "lost" vegas theme, a super hero theme, olympian theme, a movies theme...really they can go on forever. What i like most about the maze is that even if you visit more than once during the same maze theme and map lay-out is that it changes on a daily basis. Plastic sawhorses with stop signs on them are strategically placed in the maze, blocking a pathway that they might open up tomorrow, while they will block another that you were able to use today. So you will never have the same experience. As a matter of fact, when you pay for admission, you are not paying to go through the maze just once. You are paying for the entire day. So, should you decide to go back in to the maze when you are finished (if you actually have the energy to) you are welcomed back in. I have found in my personal experience that even after finishing the maze and going back in, it's still not easy and you can still get lost again. I must disgree with some of the reviews that say this is mostly aimed at kids. This maze is very complex. The maze does indeed have little games found throughout that your kids will love. ( a slide, a mini-mini golf course, and a few other kid-friendly games.) But i've found a lot of the "kids stuff" actually makes the maze MORE DIFFICULT. The maze has levels. Each level adds a layer of difficulty and time spent in the maze. Level one is finding your way to the halfway mark and exiting. Level two is completing the entire maze. Level 3 is completing the maze and finding each of the adventure zones. (thats the kids activities.) however, they arent necessarilly on the right path, and simply finding these activies before exiting adds time in the maze, and more opportunity to get lost. There are plenty of other things to find as well. they have a "map rub" as i like to call it. hidden down lonely paths that are dead ends are little stands with metal plates on them. you put your field guide over it and rub it with a pencil to stencil in what part of the maze you are in. there are six of these in each themed maze. Also on your field guide are random questions and the answers are hidden through the maze. Yes, it's "kid stuff" but i have that never-grow-up mentality, and let me tell you, i went in with about 11 people. we broke into 3 teams. i told them all it was a competition and i was gonna find all of the bridges and all of the answers and all of the pieces of the maze. Not even all 3 groups combined found everything. I'm not really sure how a maze is supposed to be more "interactive" but i always have a blast and consider myself lucky to live so close. I agree with the previous reviewer that this maze is geared more toward children as far as the different games within the maze go. The maze itself, however, would be nearly impossible for children to navigate without and adult. I'm telling you, year after year this maze is tough! I think that is what makes it fun for the adults. You're walking along thinking "this looks new" and then, BAM! You're back in a spot you've already been to. UGH! It can be entirely frustrating, but fun at the same time. This maze will make or break relationships...romantic or otherwise. I can't tell you how many times we've bickered among friends about which way to go once we're lost in there. We've seen plenty of people having all out arguments amongst the cornstalks! It is fun though. They play a fun mix of music and there are different goals within the maze to keep you interested. My daughter (11) and I have made this an annual mother-daughter trip for 4 years running now. The maze changes each year and I think it gets better each and every year. The staff are very nice and willing to help if you "really" want help, but try to encourage you to forge along with positive reinforcement. There are a total of 8 or 9 bridges and you don't have to cross all of them to get out, but that is one of our personal challenges each year to cross each bridge. The best bridge is one about 1/2 way through where they have a bucket and pulley system set up to order a snack from the snack bar down below. It is set up with a old fashioned telephone like game tube to speak through to place your order. Then you drop your money in the bucket and pull the line to send it down to the store. Shortly after, the bucket comes back up filled with your goodies. It is so simple, but definitely one of our highlights!! It is always a bunch of fun and I think we are going to go back for a second time this year and take some friends. We will definitely be back next year too. As far as time goes - the first year it took us about 3 hours to make it through, usually it is about 2 - 2.5 hours and this year we must have flown because we got lucky with a right turn and completed it in 1:45. read more

This place is amazing. We've gone for the past 11 years and never miss it! I tell people we're "going to a corn maze" and they say, "Yeah, we've done that." They don't understand this is the BEST and mostly likely biggest corn maze in New England. It's incredible! We especially love looking for the clues, stumbling across all of the cool areas inside the maze like the playgrounds and snack area, and finding our way up and across the bridges. I highly recommend it. My only qualm is that it's a little pricey. Also - bring water if it's a hot sunny day. It may take you awhile to actually FIND the water and refreshments in the maze. Be prepared to walk! It has taken us anywhere between 45 minutes to 2 hours to get through. Bring a backpack to carry kids 2 and under, and be ready to hear them complain about walking if they're in the 3-4-year-old range. My kiddos are now 9 and 6 and have really loved every moment the past few years! read more

The only real negative things I can say about this place is that its a bit expensive and far away from the city. On the other hand, its a lot of fun to wander around in the corn maze, looking through telescopes and at the random things they leave in there. When I went, they had all these stations that you would stamp in at and I guess you would get something if you got all the stamps. However, we got lost and hot (bring lots of extra water) and so we started cutting corners and cheating. :) If you can, go with someone who is a Massachusetts Teacher or another person who gets a discount because it definitely helps. Also, if you are allergic to bees, be careful as there were a ton when we went. read more

This place was cool for everyone, but MAN.. do NOT, I repeat DO NOT go on a hot day. It was swampassticle. So like I said, pick a nice cool cloudy day to go cause that maze can get hot. I tried to get out for a few hours when finally we decided to "cheat" and go through the emergency exit thing. I think it wouldn't be good for little ones. Probably ages 7 and up. I got dehydrated and that's why we ended up cheating. There is a game for the kiddos to collect stamps in different areas, and honestly it probably helped them get out cause I certainly wasn't doing it right. I would have died in that thing like good ol' Jacky Torrence if you'd have left me in there. read more

A bunch of us went up to the MegaMaze a couple of weeks ago. It's a little expensive and really more aimed at little kids. The idea is that you walk through a corn maze that's ostensibly Las Vegas themed. There is a scavenger hunt element to the maze, but it's really designed to entertain little kids and doesn't hold enough variety for anyone older. It would be better if it were more interactive or there were somehow more variety than just walking through a maze looking for the exit. read more

This place is a blast. Went the last 2 Halloweens. Two years ago it was challenging, but for some reason last years version was really easy. I hope they get it back to normal this year. They have a great staff. Go on a colder night if possible to cut down on the hordes of teenagers. read more

this. place. is. ridiculous! seriously, i had so much fun at this place with my friend, and i would love to make this a annual fall tradition. okay, okay, i know this place is a little bit of a drive away (about an hour) from boston, but if youre looking for something to do outside on a nice fall day, this place is a great idea. i went here under the impression that it would be a cute little maze that would take me about an hour and was mostly geared toward kids...but i was wrong! the maze itself is made for adults, so its definitely challenging. in addition to the maze, they have other challenges that you can complete to challenge yourself a little more--like going over all the bridges (you punch a place on the paper when you go over a bridge) or scanning things with your phone to collect words to a saying (such a cool idea)! there are activities within the maze that make it a great place for kids with families, too--like a small zipline, basketball, climbing rope ladders, etc. this place has a new theme every year, and they put so much effort into creating it and making it a unique experience for everyone. they even have a brief instruction video at the beginning to watch to get you in the mood to explore! i love this place and would love to return next year for a new challenge! read more

I headed out to the Mega Maze with some friends on Columbus Day. This was my first visit and it was a blast! Considering it was Columbus Day, it wasn't that crowded. Not only was this a fun corn maze on a beautiful day but there were stops on the way where you could go down a slide, play mini-golf, go on a zipline, and play at a tennis ball shooting gallery. Yeah, the stops are more for the kids but we had a fun time being "kids" again at them. Also, there are several ways to get a discount, we used coupons and a Shaws' rewards card. The only reason it's four stars instead of five is because I got a splinter on one of the bridges! read more

My friends and I go to the Davis Mega Maze every year and have an awesome time. We plan to be there for several hours and take our time finding each piece of the puzzle and crossing each bridge. This has become a yearly autumn tradition that we all look forward to. Unfortunately we drove the hour and 15 minutes out to the maze on Saturday, October 15th only to get there and find out the maze was closed due to rain from the day before. I understand that the rain caused damage and maybe it was flooded, but Davis did not do a very good job of letting folks know the maze was closed. Two people in my party of four checked the website before we left and nothing was posted. We also called and reached a standard recorded message which did not state anything about the maze being closed. What a disappointment. We were not the only ones as we passed about 15 cars that also drove up and had to drive away with crying kids. I would have given the maze five stars before this, but now I need to lower my rating based on customer service. I emailed the farm and let them know it would have been nice to post the cancellation on the web site or phone message and received no response. It would have been nice if they offered us a discount or something for a return trip considering the amount of gas and time we wasted. read more

So much fun! This is my fourth year in a row visiting the maze for one of their "Fright Nights". We went on Friday, Oct 11th, and this year's theme was Treasure Hunt. First and foremost - the layout is incredible, and the size of this maze just blows my mind. I can only imagine the planning and construction that goes into something this big. I also love how they change the layout everyday, so there is never a quick solution. The staff is wonderful. They are incredibly friendly, and do everything they can to help you figure the maze out. The creatures lurking in the corn add to the excitement. MAJOR thanks to one of the characters who took pity on my group (after we passed him for about the tenth time during our 2 1/2 hour adventure through the corn) and broke character to try to help us find our way to the finish, as we were running out of time. The atmosphere is great - especially on a dark and chilly October night. There are speakers placed throughout the maze, which play a rotation of Halloween themed music (think Thriller) and creepy noises (think Friday the 13th). We never solved the maze on our own (first time in four years!). May have been the tricky layout, or our complete lack of sense of direction. The staff was nice enough to find us at their closing time of 10pm, and help us to the exit. Couple of things - bring a flash light! I saw a lot of people walking around without them, and if that's your thing, great. But if not, it's going to make things super tricky. I would have wandered around aimlessly without mine. Second - wear proper footwear. The terrain is slightly uneven (obviously...it's a corn field) and it's easy to trip if you aren't paying attention. read more

The autumn season is also the height of corn maze season in New England. Davis Mega Maze is one of the highly regarded and most complex of these corn mazes in Massachusetts. The maze is designed so that the solution of the maze changes daily - depending on which road is blocked off as dead-end. Beyond trying to solve the corn maze, the maze goers are also involved in some kind of theme each year, in 2012, the theme is to solve a murder mystery. A paper is handed out to each maze goer with clues and checkpoints which increases both the fun and complexity of the maze tremendously. At different points of the maze, clues can be found on top and under bridges, role-playing maze staff can be questioned about the mystery, puzzles can be solved, adventures can be had (e.g. zipline, belly bumpers, putt putt golf). There is much to do beyond simply finishing the maze, every turn is a surprise and perhaps a new clue. Yet the maze is not extremely difficult since there are certain landmarks which are helpful for tracking location. The admission is a little pricey compared to some of the other corn mazes but the fun is many times more. But they seem to run a deal on deals.boston.com every year and we got in with a $5 discount per person. Davis Farm Land with Pick-Your-Own apples and pumpkins are right around the corner and can be comboed with the maze admission, only $7 for half a peck of really delicious and ample apples freshly picked from the trees instead of the $13 regular price. Regret not getting a whole peck, it's one of the best tasting apples I've had. read more

Great fun with the kids. My wife and youngest went across the street to the petting zoo while we were inside the maze (spent two hours wandering around). I would have stayed longer, but one of my kids wasn't feeling well and the 6 year old complained that her feet hurt from walking. The kids also loved the games in the courtyard. read more
