They are nice people... when you can get them. They are often inaccessible. Attempts to reach them during normal business hours are often stonewalled. Phone calls are often directed to an after-hour recorded message instructing the caller to phone back during normal hours. That is fine except the calls are being made during normal hours - weekday mornings at 11 AM for instance. The recorded message indicates their open times and my calls fall within those times. This is now happened to me on several occasions. It's become impossible to determine when they will be in the office, making it very difficult for me to plan visits. I have been a client if this office for several years - dating back to when Dr. Siegel owned the practice and never had a problem, but they are becoming increasingly difficult to work with. read more

Is this place out of business? I called last week numerous times to order contact lenses and only get voice mail that suggests I call during normal business hours, and it was normal business hours ! I tried today , again normal business hours, and got an answering service or someone who was only taking call for emergencies... I looked online and discovered it's Rosin now.. Good news for patients looking for Dr. Liz Saxton-Williams, who left Northcenter Eye care in April 2017. She has her own practice - Second City Eye Care at 4115 N Lincoln Ave. I am a former patient of hers when she was at North Center Eye care and just saw her today at her beautiful new practice, with top notch service. As always, she listens and she gets 5 star review While Dr. Siegel at North Center is top notch with a humorous personality, the new business owners don't provide patient care as we should all expect and demand. Even one year after buying Dr Siegel's practice, they still can't consistently answer their phones or communicate with one another.I am happy to have found Dr. Liz as I can continue with the service that I'm used to, while leaving the new owners of North Center Eye Care completely. read more

I have been going here for YEARS, something like 15, and this past visit, now that Dr. Siegel and his staff have all been replaced by Rosin people, I am nothing but heart broken and sad; I need to find a new eye doctor. To begin with, they couldn't get my social security number correct to verify my insurance. This was multiple calls with my HR, the insurance company and the Rosin folks, just to make the appointment. What a headache. Again, I have been a patient for 15 years and now you are having issues with my soc number and insurance? REALLY?? The eye doctor I saw was rude and insinuating...she accused me of having diabetes because my vision changed slightly in the past year when it has not in SIX years...I mean to have the same prescription for that long and then to have not both but ONE eye change ever so slightly, come on! Is this because I am slightly overweight?? The staff when I was checking out was just as rude as the doctor. I asked for my glasses to be readjusted and they acted like I was asking them for a unicorn riding flamingo. Finally, when I called to order contacts the gal was going to deny me using my insurance to cover the cost...I didn't get new glasses, I had my old ones adjusted; my contact are covered! Again, so sad, but now that you are a chain like Pearl and For Eyes and your service is out the window, you lost me as a patient and I am going to go elsewhere :( read more

Terrible customer service. Purchased a year's worth of contact lenses that were manufactured wrong. When I went back in to tell them, I was treated like I was trying to get something free. I was told that they could not be wrong and that somehow I was to blame. After many arguments and 3 months, they agreed to reorder the original prescription. They were fine. The original order was manufactured incorrectly as I said from the beginning. When I asked for my records to go to another provider, I was told 3 times that they were in the mail. They were never mailed. A regional manager was supposed to contact me to discuss these incidents. We set two appointments. She was too busy to call me both times. Hadn't gotten my prescription updated in about 4 years and thought it was probably time I find an eye doctor in the city. Couldn't be more happy with Northcenter Eye Care. Everyone is very nice but have to give a specific shout out to Josh who was very patient (I can be very indecisive) and gave great input when helping me find new frames. Without a doubt, the absolute worst experience with an Optometrist, ever! I was on my last pair of contacts, and this is my fault for procrastinating. Nevertheless, Northcenter Eye Care penciled me in for last Thursday. I wanted the infamous Dr. Siegel, after reading positive reviews. Nope, no such luck. But, I did get to see Dr. Saxton-Williams! When entering, I was greeted by Josie, who, in my opinion, was a perfect depiction of a slothful employee. It was apparent she did NOT want to be there! After waiting for approximately 40 minutes past my check-in, I finally got to see the ever so bubbly, Dr. Saxton-Williams! Initially, she was friendly, but was kind of rushing the exam. After a quick...and I mean quick exam, she brought out a pair of contacts for the fitting. Here's my take: ME: I don't need a fitting, as this fee goes against my $150 allowance for contacts. EYE DOC: {Perplexed look, as if she was caught off guard} Uhhh, uh, well, it's a federal law. You have to have me fit your contacts. ME: I've been wearing this same brand of contacts for the past 15 years, and I'm quite willing and able to place them in my eyes myself. And, just for the record, I don't think it's a mandatory "Federal Law" to have you require a "fitting?" EYE DOC: Uhh, uhh, well it's an Illinois law, and I know that for a fact. What kind of eye doctors have you seen in the past. Were they actually in a practice? ME: Yes, they were quite reputable Optometrists, and they always gave me the OPTION of having a "fitting." EYE DOC: Well, if you refuse the fitting, you won't get your contacts! ME: {Can't wait to file a complaint with my insurance provider} Actually, I believe by law, you must provide my prescription, and a receipt upon request. And by law, I can take my prescription and order my contacts from another Doctor. Basically, I had no choice, as they threw out my last pair of contacts, and they threatened (and would have) held my new contacts hostage unless I had a "fitting." This, in my opinion, is complete BS! Instead of getting (8) boxes of contacts under my insurance allowance, I only received (4), because I was forced to pay $80 for a fitting fee that was completely unnecessary! I feel as though I was thoroughly RIPPED OFF! Upon check-out, I was greeted by Isabella. She was also a real Gem! I requested a breakdown of my charges for the day. She, in an extremely arrogant manner, {Rolling her eyes} gave a verbal itemized list, but did not give me a physical receipt, nor did she provide me a copy of my prescription. Frustrated? YES! Do I feel as though Northcenter eye care was deceptive? In my opinion, yes! RUDE, RUDE, RUDE employees! A complaint with the FTC and my insurance provider awaits! read more

I likeD this place a lot. Dr. Seigel was great! I won't be back. I went in there with one month left before my prescription for contacts expired hoping to order another years worth. My vision is stable, I can see well, I'm happy with my current prescription. After consulting with the new doc, the woman at the desk came back and told me she would only allow me to purchase one months worth of contacts. After a bit of debate and a clear indication that I wouldn't be returning unless they changed their mind, I left without another years worth of contacts. Apparently, the doc felt that it was more important to charge my insurance and make a profit off of my exam than to keep a customer. Honesty is the best policy, right? No, obviously NOT @ Northcenter eye care. As previous reviews elude to, they do NOT disclose the fact that a contact "fitting" fee will be deceptively padded into your bill. Oh wait, I still cannot get a WRITTEN explanation to what exactly was billed to my insurance. Isn't this my legal right? Aren't they, upon request, supposed to legally provide a copy of your prescription as well? Too bad! I actually enjoy getting my eye's checked! I always have a great experience when I come to this office. Dr. Siegel is great, he's very thorough in his exam, but he always adds some humor which makes for a pretty pleasant doctor's appointment. The entire staff is also friendly and helpful. I couldn't decide on which new frames to choose and the staff ordered the color's and style I was interested in so I could try them on before deciding. An excellent customer-focused business. I go here for check-ups and sometimes contacts (almost always cheaper online, no matter where you go). My first visit, the assistant at the desk took my glasses to check the prescription. Before I could even ask, he tightened a loose screw and adjusted the glasses to my face. The optometrists are thorough, very understanding and patient; the assistants well-informed regarding insurance/procedures. This contact-lens wearing lady spent the last two years without an eye exam. My hard lenses started feeling a little wonky - scratchy and all that - so I brought myself, sans insurance, up the street to Northcenter Eye Care. I had filled out the paperwork online, so everything proceeded quickly and I was seen on time. The optometrist-assistant guided me speedily through some preliminary little checks, and then brought me to the exam room where I was readily seen by Dr. Siegel. The guy is a hoot. I wish he was my grandpa. He's just a funny, gently teasing guy who is good at his job. I don't think I can recall enjoying a conversation with an eye doctor before, usually it's just "which is clearer, 1 or 2?" but this guy had a personality. I dig it. The exam was efficient and I am confident that the lenses he ordered me will be just dandy. I have not yet gone back to pick them up, but based on the exam itself, I was very satisfied with my experience here. He also didn't dilate me, since he did not feel that it was necessary, and I was super-happy about that since some eye doctors will dilate you no matter what. And I really wanted to go to Trader Joe's after my appointment, and being all squinty would make that challenging. $120 for the exam, my new hard lenses will be $180 - but bear in mind they last for like, 2 years, so it's not such a bad price. My annual eye exam was up and this place is in my vision insurance coverage and right down the street, so I decided to give them a shot. I've been wearing glasses since grade 5. Each year, I grow anxious to see the eye doctor. The headaches start to appear about daily as I continue to squint and feel more blind each day as I stare at distorted faxes and dual monitors running DOS programs at work. I show up for my appointment rather early, because I was excited and was impressed with the decor. The tests were easy enough and the tech was patient my nonstop watery eyes and anxiety over the blowing/poof machine test. The optometrist I had was a lovely young woman who again was very patient and even took my blood pressure. She confirmed what I thought was true, my eyesight had really changed in one year. She showed me my old eyesight compared to the new and it was shocking. I then asked for assistance picking out frames and one of the workers spent a lot of time with me and I ended up finding a pair that I feel is really more my style. I was there a total of 2 hours but it was time well spent. I will definitely make this my eye doctor instead of just a place to try this year and try something new next year. read more

I was majorly in need of new contacts (my 20 or so stockpiled boxes that I so smartly ordered online right before my last Rx expired were dwindling) as well as a pair of glasses (my old ones from oh, 7 years ago, were utterly ugly, an old Rx, and uncomfortable). I used my insurance's (VSP) site to search for nearby places, cross-checked yelp reviews, and thus made an appointment here. My exam started on time & was quite thorough (and even high tech... but maybe that's just a reflection of how long it's been since I've been to the eye doctor...heh). Dr. Saxton-Williams caught a spot on my eye that could have been something bad or simply a scar, asked if she could use dye to help determine what it was, and explained how it would work. She also discovered that my current Rx was a little too strong, which could possibly explain the pulsating headaches I occasionally get. (And yes, they have occurred less frequently since the switch!) If you get freaked out about getting your eyes dilated or are a procrastinating grad student who always has a multitude of readings to catch up on (like me), you do have the option (for $40) of having the doc look at some high tech pics of your eyeballs instead. They were cool about me just getting a contact Rx for the purpose of ordering online, though they did mention they price match to 1-800-CONTACTS & they can get them in like 2 days. However, I chose to focus on finally finding a pair of cute glasses. They had a large variety of frames, from the more affordable to (not horribly overpriced) expensive designer pairs. The girl helping me saw what I had picked out and led me to other similar styles & gave me honest feedback. I ended up with glasses that I love so much that I actually barely wear my contacts anymore, which is something I've never desired to do before. read more

Northcenter Eye Care is a fantastic place for eye exams. They also have an impressive array of eyeglass styles and are amazingly quick at ordering contacts, ~2-3 days, but are never pushy about having to buy a new pair of either. Better yet, there are no lectures involved. There's no need to prepare a slew of niceties to explain yourself after being dogged for "reading/using your computer/watching TV/squinting for fun too much." It's beautifully simple, really; just go in, have a thorough eye exam with a friendly optometrist, pay a reasonable fee and you're out the door. read more

My friend had gone here for years and so did I. We loved dr Siegel. New doc told her that the high pressure in her eyes wasn't a problem! She got a second option and was immediately put on glaucoma treatment. Now she has minor eye damage from the untreated glaucoma. read more

I love this office. They have funky frames from ProDesign and more overseas designers plus all of the usual styles as well. The receptionists are extremely helpful and patient when you consider a style for hours on end like I did. I even brought in all of my old glasses for them to tighten and straighten out. When I offered her a tip for this, she refused and said it was her pleasure! I love to support independent retailers and this one deserves your business. Due to moving and insurance changes, I've been to several different eye doctors over the past few years. Not wanting to stop my streak, I went to Dr. Siegal yesterday for my annual eye exam. I will preface this by saying that I have VSP insurance which is where I initially found Dr. Siegal. I wear contacts but also needed new glasses as I am pretty sure I'm legally blind and my old glasses were 2 years old. Both women who worked at the front were professional and friendly, and both of them knew what they were doing (which isn't always easy to find). It was only a short wait between arriving and seeing Dr. Siegal. Dr. Siegal was friendly and funny and did not rush through the exam. He took plenty of time, and I felt confident that he had my best interest in mind. He also took time to explain everything he saw during the exam. When I went to pick out my glasses, I was delighted to see that the selection included several different price points. The last time I got glasses, I felt like I got totally hosed. After insurance AND after asking for "more economical frames" (which were on a special rack, were a very limited selection, and were not that economical), my glasses were $185, and the only "special feature" I got was thin lenses (I also wanted the anti-glare coating, but didn't want to spend even more than I already spent). At Dr. Siegal's office, I was able to easily find a reasonably priced frame that I liked and got both the thin lenses and the anti-glare coating for $179. $6 less for a better selection of frames and more "special features" - not too bad. Dr. Siegal also gives a 10% discount on contacts if you buy both glasses and contacts. Since everyone knows that contacts online are cheaper than at the eye doctor's office, the discount seemed like a good way to even it out. All-in-all, I had a very good experience at Dr. Siegal's office. Barring any moves or changes in insurance, I will most likely go to the same eye doctor two years in a row. read more

I have been going to Dr. Segal for about 5 years now and he is great. I used to hate going to the eye doctor before him as my eyes are sensitive to the usual poking and prodding. He knows when I am in pain and works with me during the exam. Every eye doctor I have ever had has lacked this awareness of their patients. He is great and the staff is friendly too. When you buy contacts they always seem to hook me up with a pair that is comfortable and comes with a rebate of aprox. $50. read more

I saw Dr. Liz a few weeks ago for an annual check up, and it turned out I had a really bad eye infection in both eyes (hm -- so that's why my eyes were so bloodshot in the mornings). She was very caring throughout the whole process and got me the medicine that healed it right up. The next week, I went back (clear eyes and all!) for a regular checkup. I stuck with my same brand of contacts but had to get a stronger prescription. All was great until I lost one of my contacts on the floor while putting it in. Fortunately, the staff here is fabulous and goes above and beyond with service--they provided me an extra contact, even though it was just a trial pair. On top of that, they gave me a few small bottles of solution. Everyone in the office is so friendly! Although I started going here because it was close by my apartment, I will continue going here, even if I move further south toward the city. I do have to say, however, that this place doesn't have high-end brands of glasses. I couldn't find Versace glasses! They do have all of the other popular brands (Ray Ban and Oakley, for example), though. They have a quite good selection. I definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

Excellent service and care. While getting an eye exam and new glasses, I had touches with about 5 staff members, and everyone (doctor, optometrist, reception, etc) was courteous, kind, and helpful. Got a pair of great frames that fit beautifully and the prescription is perfect. I went here today to investigate some redness i've been experiencing (turns out milking 2 week contacts for a month is not as good an idea as one might think.) They fit me in with only a day's wait and warned I may have to sit and wait a bit since I was being squeezed in which I totally understood. However, this was actually the most on time Dr's experience I think I've ever had! I saw Dr. Siegal and he was very thorough and thoughtful. He had a very calm demeanor and a dry sense of humor that put me at ease. He also shopped around before giving me a Rx to try to make sure I was getting the best price possible. Overall, it was a great experience and I felt confident leaving with a good plan. Update: I recently went back for my full eye exam with Dr. Liz who was great! I have been to Dr. Siegel's office twice and have been satisfied with my experience there each time. They take most vision insurance and discount plans. The staff is helpful so don't hesitate to call and ask questions if you aren't sure about what your vision plan covers. It can be a bit pricey if you do not have a vision plan or discount. His office was the first to tell me of my astigmatism, something I probably had for quite some time but went undiagnosed. They introduced me to toric lenses which really improved my vision. They have a decent selection of designer frames. What I love is they offer the Transitions lenses - it really helps out when it's sunny outside. They get pretty busy so call ahead for an appointment. Street parking is decent. Bring quarters for the meter. read more

Up until this morning, I'd been a customer here for more than a decade, spending thousands of dollars on contacts and glasses over that time for myself and my two children. I was treated so rudely here this morning that we will never be back. I had a 9:30 appointment and showed up, as instructed on my confirmation text, at 9:15 a.m. The door was locked and the woman at the front desk glared at me and rolled her eyes as I stood in the rain. When I knocked on the door, the assistant manager grudgingly came to unlock it. They said they were aware of what the text said but had been told not to unlock the door until 9:30. They did nothing to apologize for their rudeness and, instead, acted as if I was imposing on them. I canceled my appointment and an upcoming one for my child. I will never spend another cent with North Center Eye Care or Rosin Eye Care ever again. read more

I've been to this optical office for 3 years now. The staff and opticians are very friendly and very helpful. I have pretty severe astigmatism so it's not so easy to determine my prescription, but the doctors are always patient with me and don't mind the follow-up visits. The first year I went there, I brought in a new pair of frames to get fitted. Unfortunately, one of the staff members accidentally broke the frames. The lenses were already fitted and non-refundable. I was upset initially but after some going back and forth, they agreed to give me a another pair of frames for free. I was pretty content with the way things were handled and therefore, returned to them for the following 2 years. The prices are much higher than what you would find online but they are completely okay with faxing or providing you with a copy of your prescription. However, slight problem with my prescription this year. The brand I was prescribed only comes in a base curve of 8.7. But the prescription they had listed was for 8.6. I called to confirm and it was obviously was a mistake. No biggie. They said to go ahead and order the 8.7. I deducted 1 star for this error. In overall, service is good but prices are pretty high. They do accept insurance though. read more

Dr. Siegel and the entire staff at Northcenter Eye Care are fantastic! I've been a patient here for 2 years, and have had nothing but great experiences. Dr. Siegel is quite a character! He is hilarious, and his personality definitely puts you at ease during the exam (especially considering he's 6 inches from your face). Very thorough exams. In fact, the conversation we had was pretty thorough too- after telling him I was single, he told me I should meet his son! Now that's killing two birds with one stone... Northcenter Eye Care has a great selection of designer frames-Prada glasses and Fendi shades for this girl- and at a fair price. There is definitely attention to detail, and certainly an emphasis on customer service. I've been coming here forever and I even gave a 5 star review a few years ago. However, since Dr. Siegel left his practice, it is a complete disaster. I accidentally fell asleep with my contact lenses in and developed a great deal of discomfort in my eyes. I went for 3 appointments and paid $150 in insurance fees. The last appointment I was told nothing was seriously wrong and to try wearing contacts again. I did and experienced a tremendous amount of discomfort. The optometrist told me that she didn't know what was wrong. I finally sought out a second opinion, since she didn't bother to refer me to anyone who might know what was going on, and was diagnosed with multiple corneal abrasions and advised not to wear contacts for at least a month. I will never give this business another penny again. Talk about going down hill. read more

I though Dr. Pihos was fantastic. She was really professional, explained things well and told me why she still believes in dilation. If it's your first appointment there, expect to be dilated. I didn't (and had plans to drive elsewhere) so she did the rest of the exam and had me come back the next week for that. I haven't used their opticians, but they seemed friendly and helpful to everyone. They're also open late on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and open Saturdays. read more

I could not have had a better experience here. I initially found them through my insurance and then read some reviews on Yelp. I needed to change doctors since moving and they are very close to my house. Dr. Liz was so great. She is very professional, very friendly and a engaged in genuine conversation throughout the exam. She was very thorough and detailed. I purchased my new frames/glasses from them as well. The ladies working in the "showroom" were very nice, helpful, not overbearing. I've been going to North Center for years -- great service, nice staff, on time, etc. However, my last experience has driven me away permanently. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the owner and head doc sold the biz? Here's what happened. My allergies have been nuts this year and I got to the point where I couldn't wear my contacts, so I went in for a looksee. The doc said, yes, your allergies are affecting your eyes and you have dry eye. Use some OTC stuff. Bye. Meanwhile, I've been having trouble reading with my progressive lenses, which I bought from North Center last year. They looked at them and said I was using them wrong in terms of where my eyes need to be when I read. Ok, I'll try to do better. So I started using the OTC drops that Dr. Blodgett recommended. No improvement. Getting worse. I decided that I need a second opinion. Go to another doc at Northwestern. She told me my dry eye and allergies are so severe even prescription meds won't work, much less OTC. Need to go to a steroid drop. The new doc did a much more thorough exam too, including flipping my eyelid to see the condition, which was bad. Also I have scar tissue, which the original doc didn't even mention. Finally, the new new doc sent me to her optician's office, which confirmed the glasses North Center made were made incorrectly. That is, the reading part of the lenses is a few millimeters off, but that makes a difference. So I'll need to buy new glasses now. Just a word to the wise -- if you've got some eye ailments, this may not be the place for you. Might be ok if you just need routine exam. read more

Five years later, I just want to say how much I've loved going to see Dr. Siegel and the staff at Northcenter Eye Care. They've always been so helpful to my 4 eyes--their email reminders for yearly appointments are great, Josie (I believe) has even given me a second opinion about which frames work best on my face, and I could always count on Dr. Siegel for some laughs. While the doctors are very good don't expect much from the staff. Very expensive and be prepared to to wait a long time for your glasses. I asked them after 10 days why they weren't ready and they said "We have no control over that" How can it take 10 days for a pair of glasses and why wouldn't I wouldn't I go to lens crafters? I had a super weird experience with this place. Went there about a year ago, had a lovely doctor (a woman, I don't recall her name) who was professional and funny and nice. Helped me pick out some rad new glasses and got me a prescription for new contacts. I never ordered the contacts from them, because I wanted disposable ones, since I don't wear them often, and she gave me a sample to try of something different, but I did not like them. I kept meaning to just call and get my prescription from them so I could order the same ones I had before elsewhere, rather than this brand they seemed to be pushing me into. I never did get the prescription or order them, until now, about 1 year later (pushing it to the max). First, when I've tried to call them, I keep getting voicemail, which says "Make an appointment online" but the website says "We no longer accept online appointments, please call." Then, for a few days, when I would call the # it was out of service. ? I was worried they had closed. Called one last ditch time and got someone, who told me my last exam was 2 years ago so they couldn't help me except to make a new appointment. I could have sworn that was wrong but wasn't sure, so I just made the appointment. I did convince them to send me my prescription though via email. The prescription they sent me was for someone else entirely - a 5th grade boy! I am a 35 year old female. I knew it wasn't 2 years ago I got new glasses! But seriously - me and this kid - our names are NOT at all similar. Our birthdates, phone numbers, and addresses are completely different - kid didn't even live in Chicago but in a suburb. I have no idea how they got this so mixed up. Tried replying to the email, nothing. Tried calling back - we're back to instantly going to voicemail again. I'm suspicious that they aren't going to try to fix this (if they do at all) until my prescription is expired, to force me into not being able to USE it until I get a new appointment. Aside from this being probably some kind of HIPPA violation, I feel totally cheated. If I can't get the information I need or order contacts for my prescription... well, I'm cancelling my appointment because I am NOT going back to this place. read more

This is a great place to go for an exam and glasses. I had been a member of the eye care club at America's Best and found that what I was saving wasn't worth the aggravation of dealing with getting the Forest Gump box of chocolates approach to eye exams: never knowing what you're gonna get. This office is top notch and the way it should be. When I arrived, the front desk staff already had all of my insurance information and was well-versed in what my options were with respect to how much frames, contact lenses, etc. would cost. I saw Dr. Pihos, who was extremely friendly, professional, and thorough. I've come to the realization that you should not trust your eyes to a cattle call national eyewear chain. I was looking for a new eye doctor in the neighborhood and Dr. Seigel had good reviews on Yelp. I have been going to the same eye doctor since I was 8 (20 years) so I was anxious to find someone local who would take good care of me because I have a fairly complicated prescription. Dr. Seigel was friendly and it was a good visit, I felt pretty well taken care of. I didn't think the screening was as thorough as it could've been necessarily. When I ordered new contacts, my new prescription was a little off from what it was before, and now unfortunately I'm stuck with a years' supply that isn't exactly right for my eyes. I called back a few months later to get a copy of my eyeglass prescription because a family friend owns a glasses store and I wanted to buy my new glasses from him. He looked at my prescription from Dr. Seigel, and said it was totally different from what it had been my whole life. He called the office to inquire, and the receptionist put him on hold while she talked to the doctor....she came back on and said to add a certain level of prescription. Then my family friend said that I'd had a much different level before....she put him on hold again...then came back and said "Yeah, go with that level for the glasses." My family friend asked if they were guessing?? or if I should come in and have them recheck my eyes. The girl basically said "it's written here, have her come in if that will make you feel better" and hung up on him. I was surprised because I'd never encountered this rudeness from their staff, but the fact that they had given me the wrong prescription, and then gave me a new handwritten prescription that was different from the original one, made me skeptical that they even knew what my actual prescription was. I only get glasses every 5 years or so, and they generally cost over $400 so I want to make sure they're done right! I just got a bad feeling that they hadn't paid close enough attention, so I chose to go to EyeSeeRavenswood and get my eyes rechecked. I felt much better having a second opinion from someone who was very thorough and made me feel like she was closely examining my eyes to make sure my prescription was as accurate as possible (and again, I have to stress that I have a very odd prescription- so I was relieved to feel that I'd gotten the detailed care I'd wanted). read more

I stopped going to Northcenter eye care a few years ago, because they were a lot more expensive than other eye centers. I recently tried it again, because it's close to my house. My appointment was at 3:45. I got there early at 3:30. While I was waiting the doctor took a man in that was a friend of someone who worked there. I didn't get in to see her until 4:30. When I checked out the price was twice what I expected. I won't be giving Northcenter a try again. read more
