Fireplace looks and operating better than new with greater safety as upon completion of service checked for gas leaks and carbon monoxide. Just bought a new house and was pretty sure that the fireplace had not been maintained at all. It took at least 30 seconds to come on, when it actually did, and then the flames were pretty weak. i had Northco Fire come over to address an issue with our pilot light for the gas fireplace that kept going out. Brian was able to quickly diagnose the issue, fix the problem, and also clean the fireplace. He is very knowledgeable and was able to explain the issue, and what to look for in future, very clearly. Brian quickly diagnosed the failure of two components. Replacement parts were on his truck, and the fireplace was working in short-order. We are renting a property where the fireplace has probably not been serviced since the house was built 20 years ago. Joel gave it a thorough cleaning, unclogged all the burners, ran a carbon monoxide detector for us to see, and cleaned the glass (that alone made the fireplace look so much bigger, THAT'S how dirty it was). Had Joel from Northco out this morning to service our gas fireplace. Have lived here 2 1/2 years and not had it serviced and don't know how long it had been before that. Wall switch wasn't working and switch at the unit wasn't consistent. Flame was not strong even when adjusted to high and logs had shifted. Joel did a fantastic job quickly diagnosing the problem (loose wire connections) and giving it a thorough cleaning. Had to use some elbow grease on the glass (didn't realize how dirty it had become!) and now our unit looks and functions like brand new. He was courteous and professional, removing his shoes at the door without being asked, and explaining/answering all my husband's questions. Gave a window of arrival upon booking, sent a reminder text the day before with a slightly modified arrival, then a phone call 15 min prior to arrival. Was referred to NorthCo Fire to service my gas fireplace. They were great! My glass was completely covered in soot and the wall switch was not working properly. They came on time, removed their shoes and covered the area to be sure they didn't leave a mess when they left. They cleaned everything out, checked the burners, electrical switches, and reset the placement of the logs and other materials. They found out why the glass was turning black so quickly. They vacuumed the years of dust away and got me back in business in time for the holidays. My fireplace is not only gorgeous again, but it works and is safe again!
