The Stone Shop saved the day…read more We were in the middle of renovating our bathroom when our contractor informed us that the 5' long X 3" wide marble saddle under the shower door was too narrow and we needed to get a 5 inch wide one right away. We tried to find one on-line, we went to Lowes and Home Depot, and we could not find one that matches what we need, and the contractor needed it ASAP. We remember THE STONE SHOP did our kitchen last year so we called and Ashley told us to come over right away and pick out a slab we like and she will have it cut to the right size for us. We went there at 11 am and selected one that matches our wall tile color and Ashley said she will have a piece cut out to our specification by 3pm. We went back at 3pm that same afternoon and the piece was all ready for pick-up, all polished to perfection. We brought it back home and the contractor installed it right away. They were incredible in thinking out of the box to help us out. I cannot thank them enough for saving the day. They were friendly, accommodating, and affordable. On Jan 29 a McGooklin cargo van parked blocking traffic on Watching near Fairmont around 8:20 AM, and was still there as of 8:40AM. This van was blocking a lane of traffic causing a backup all the way down to River road. It created a dangerous situation for drivers as the looked to pass it as it forced them into incoming traffic. The house they were parked in front of, and likely servicing, had a drive way free of snow and plenty of space for the van to park legally. Shortcuts like this concern me - if they are too lazy to park legally, then personally I could never trust their remodeling services.

Patrick and his crew did a great job on our wood floors! We bought an old Victorian home (built…read morecirca 1895-1905) with original pine wood floors underneath the carpet. My husband and I removed the carpet ourselves and then brought in some flooring professionals to take a look and give us a quote for refinishing the wood underneath. The boards are top nailed and a couple areas had damaged boards needing repair. Other flooring companies we got quotes from told us the job would be extremely difficult and did not inspire confidence. From the start Patrick was very knowledgeable and reassuring that his team would be able to refinish and restore our beautiful floors without a problem! We had all the rooms sanded and stained, minus one room that needed a new floor laid over top due to a 4' x 6' cut out in the middle of the floor - (why! Lol) - but they blended the new oak floor in the one bedroom very nicely with the pine in the rest of the house. I was worried it might look out of place but you hardly notice it! They also replaced our stair treads on the front stairs, and sanded and finished the treads on our back stairs. They did a phenomenal job and I will be calling them for any future flooring needs! 10/10 highly recommend selecta flooring!!!
