It is impossible to get to the correct Doctor through Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons through their Call Centers. The people there do not speak our language well and do not understand what is needed, even after being explained to. I just returned from what was supposed to be a surgery evaluation that didn't happen because the call center person sent me to the wrong place and wrong doctor. Some people should not become doctors. Went for a mole removal on my eyelid and was very nervous. Doctor walked in, clearly in a hurry, and randomly grabbed at my other eye without warning. Doctor explained they measured a dangerous level of pressure in my right eye and wanted to recheck, but wouldn't be able to do anything, either to recheck pressure, or remove the mole, reacting the way I did and asked me to leave. I asked to recheck my right eye now that I was expecting them to do it, but they refused. Even if you are fine with being poked and prodded in your eyes, and okay with the bedside manner of an automechanic, telling a patient they have a dangerous condition and asking them to leave is not okay. It is a shame, since the tech I worked was one of the best, and I am sure if the tech rechecked my eye pressure it would have gone smoothly. read more

I cannot recommend this business for a simple reason. They charge $250 for walking in the door, then do some standard check to add to the bill... in my case it went to $305. Not sure what I am paying for, nothing was done, nor will be done, besides saying hello. When I called about it, the answer was their corporate dictates their charges. Really now... since my insurance picked up the normal charge amount, and left me with a whopping $209.75, they cant change anything because it went to my deductible... wtf? Isnt that between me and my insurance? Even if they want to be involved, they are welcome to do so on their own, leave me to deal with my insurance. Also, wouldnt that tell what would be reasonable charge for nothing? Their payment options are: pay all now, or pay it within three months, or it goes to collections. Umm... where are the real options? Especially for the people at poverty line... jeez! Do not go there unless you have a thick wallet. You will be charged a lot for saying hello. read more

New to the area and needed a new eye surgeon to follow up with for dry eye problems. Made a 7:30 AM appointment and was the first patient in. Gabby was excellent getting me all set up and did my refractive testing. Then Dr. Beckett came in within 10 minutes and did his testing and put a punctal plug in. I have tried several times to get a contact for my eye that Dr D recently did cataract surgery on. You would think I was asking for gold bouillons! I also saw Dr Greiner. She gave me samples, but they would not last until my next appt which was over a month away. I called to request more and they could not find any to last the whole time. I asked for a Rx even. I would buy them myself just to see better, especially at night. Still I met resistance. I am leaving for Florida for a week and will not have good eyesight without this contact. I have emailed and called the office. The office staff act like I am putting them out. Please think hard before coming to this Eye group. I does not seem that they have the consumer' s best interest in mind. They have to remember that they are MY employees. I am hiring them to do a job. Very Poor work ethics. read more

I purchased glasses for over $400.00 that is supposed too have transition on them and they do not. When i picked them up the receptionist wasn't the friendliest, just said here's you glasses you ate good too go. When I'm doing any cleaning and activities they are falling off. I'm constantly having to push them up. I called the office on a Friday to see about getting them fixed. The receptionist told me they would be closing in an hour due to traffic I could not make it, however she assured me that they would be open on Saturday until 11:30am even though it was Christmas eve. Surgeon was great but you get sent to other doctors for followup and it seems no matter who you are scheduled with you wait and wait and wait Not only do you have followup with different doctors they send you to different clinics from Kent, Fairlawn, Wadsworth to Stow. Also when calling with questions it is very difficult to get through the push button options to get to a live person. It seems better office management is needed. I discovered Dr. Jones through a friend. Dr. Jones is the second eye doctor that I have seen here in the area, so I growled at him upon meeting him. At once, I could tell the difference between this place and previous incumbents. Dr. Jones is similar to having a scientist/tennis rockstar/bar owner at your local pub wrapped into one. He is so thorough and precise, to explain the procedure to make you at ease knowing the fact that is you're in good hands. He is also well-traveled and athletic, so he will keep you entertained throughout the whole process. His staff makes you feel at home as well. I filled out my paperwork in advanced, so once I get there everything is smooth. This place is packed, but the wait-time is reasonable as with any doctor appointment. I was seen pretty quickly upon arrival. I was there for my LASIK appointment, staff was so patient to make sure that I am getting the right measurement and doing the eye calibration correctly. Well, it's dang important, so they better take the time. Dr. Jones came also to check how I was doing and tell me to take a deep breath, and re-do the test when I feel comfortable. I was able to re-do it successfully after the third tries. When you walk into this place, you can sense that this place knows what they're doing and genuinely love what they do. They have selections of glasses, and everyone is happy there. You can spend months looking for the right doctor to do your LASIK/contacts/eye-glasses, but I think you should try this place out. Having been around the Beverly Hills block, Manhattan, and San Francisco, I have to say that I am surprised that this kind of place exists here. The service and professionalism surpasses my expectation and it has set as the "gold" standard when I choose a healthcare provider. Now that Christmas is here and I can"t see the lighting anymore because of the surgery done by these people I feel it is time to write a review. About two years ago they did cataract surgery on me and destroyed my vision. I went back and was sent to another of their doctors in Kent. This Doctor said sometimes this happens and Too bad nothing can be done about it. I believe his words were "LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT" I have tried other doctors and they say that the wrong lens was put in when I had the surgery and the lens can't be replaced. So now my vision is destroyed and no one especially Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons can do anything to help but sell me more glasses. I CAN'T recommend this place to anyone and can't afford to keep buying glasses every time they say. read more

The folks at NEO Eye Surgeons are amazing - I'm a bit perplexed at why all the ratings aren't a full five stars. From the moment I walked through the doors, to the day I called back a few weeks later to request a copy of my contact lens prescription, everyone was professional and more than willing to assist me in the most efficient manner possible. And the eye doctor I dealt with - Dr. Greiner - was amazing. I walked in there insisting I was keeping my old contact lens prescription and brand...and a week later I swore I would never wear them again, because my new brand (the trial that Dr. Greiner asked me to try) improved my sight so dramatically. Dr. Lohman and his staff came highly recommended for cataract surgery that I was in need of. Meet with him and selected the 'multifocal' option which cost me $6,600 out of my own pocket. Inserting the Vivity lens was to give me "near and distance vision, but some people may still need readers for very small print." After the surgery for the initial eye, I did not have near or bifocal vision. I was told both eyes work together, let's see what happens when the 2nd eye is done. Four months later, no change! At this point, I began to question Dr. Lohman about additional charges. I was told that I did sign the papers stating that this procedure might not work for 20% of patients. Really? I didn't take the time to read all the paperwork the day I was going in for surgery, nor was I given a choice to have a copy of the papers. I got a small synopsis of what the paperwork said and told to sign here. So next step to give my eyes more healing time. Next appointment a month later I was told that sometimes 'crystals' get under the new lens and can cause issues, so Dr Lohman suggested laser. I ask Dr Lohman if I would be charged additionally for the laser. I was told "We will optimize this situation to get you to the place that satisfies you and your vision. Okay we did the laser but instantly after I began to see rays of light surrounding everything I was looking at, including the moon! Next visit, I hear well now your dry eye syndrome has changed to chronic and that is your issue. At this visit, I was also told by Dr. Muckley that the Vivity lens probably wasn't the best lens since I had dry eye issues prior to the lens replacement. Hmm...are we fishing for reasons here? Next appointment a permanent dry eye plug was inserted, and I was given my prescription and sent on my way to come back in 6 months. Really? Is that optimizing the situation after I spent $6,600 at the start? Maybe I would have felt better if he would have said "Here is your prescription, head over to the desk and pick out glasses on Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons." Definition of Optimize = Make the greatest use of a situation or opportunity. My question is make the greatest use of the situation for whom? Your patient or Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons. I have thought very seriously about writing up this review. I can't be the only patient caught up in the 20% reasoning. Plus I want other potential patients to be aware of what happened to me and be aware of when you are selecting an eye surgeon. Going forward if a family member, friend or coworker ask me about my cataract experience with Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons my advice would be to stay clear and look for other eye surgeon options. read more

Upon entry I was given sideward glances because I wear a shield ( due to severe asthma) rather than a mask. I was called back and the staff member abruptly held a mask in front of my face stating " you need to put this on". When I explained that I have a rare form of asthma and cannot wear a mask for extended time periods she glanced at my purse and said " I need to see documentation. Explaining that I spoke with the LASIK Department twice over the phone, in which they were made aware of my condition, and that I had just drove 48 minutes to the facility, did not stop the scrutiny. She insisted I immediately provide a letter! I went to my car embarrassed and dumbstruck by the handling of the situation. After 15 minutes scrolling through my phone I located the Mask exemption letter on email. I promptly walked back in and supplied the staff member the requested documentation. This also was not good enough!! Even though she took my phone, touching it and reviewing the document, I was then informed that it would need to be emailed to her prior to being seen by the doctor this morning . She literally wrote her email down and handed it to me. At this point everyone in the waiting area was aware of my condition and staring at me. I was embarrassed and horrified at the way it was handled and said exactly that the receptionist. I was literally in tears. Needless to say I exited the building. Their policy should be made abundantly clear prior to scheduling any appointments!! At the very least, be more understanding when the policy was not relayed in the first place to a patient with a disclosed disability. read more

When I returned to place my order, with her written quote in hand she refused to honor it and wanted to charge me $184. I have been going here for my very dry eye issues. Dr. Greiner is wonderful and thorough. Everything always goes through my medical insurance and my cost is rather small. I saw several docs for same issue prior and they offered no long term assistance. I travel an hour each way to go to Stow office. So worth it to get silicone plugs put in eyes and caring help. My only complaint is they don't have an office closer to me! That isn't stopping me from going there though. read more

I went there to get the eye glasses the doctor was very mean, not professional, told me this time I check your glaucoma next time you have to come and get your glasses. I told her I lost my glasses and need urgent glasses can not drive or read she told me I am so sorry I can not help you. Very very slow service. I had LASIK 11 months ago but had dryness complications and needed appointments every 3-4 weeks or so. The last 6 visits I've had have taken over an hour and a half of waiting. There was one day where I sat with the scheduling ladies trying to schedule an appointment for 35 MINUTES after my 1.5hour long (of waiting) appointment just finished. It's miserable. I understand they have doctors on maternity leave but why schedule so many people at the same time. If you go here be prepared to take at least 2 hours out of your day each appointment. read more

They tend to overbook patients. I had to wait about 40-60 minutes every single time I went there. You will wait 10 mins first to see a nurse. After talking to her for 5 minutes, they will put you in the waiting room for 20 to 30mins. Then someone will lead you to the exam room and again you will for another 20 to 30 minutes until the doctor comes. Your actual time with a doctor is about 10mins. I learned that they only have 2 doctors on duty in the afternoon and 40 to 45 patients scheduled based on my observation. No wonder every one has to wait a long time. I don't like a place that seems to be very profit driven. read more
