Greeted with a smile, easy check in as a new patient, wait time was excellent and short, Robin who took all important medical information from RX information, allergies to surgical information was excellent. Top notch care quality. Tests were done that I never ever had done. Dr. Shaheen was communicative, a good listener, reviewed all my test results. Pressure check was somewhat of a concern and prescribed a stronger eye drop to reduce the pressure in my eyes. I have to return in a month to have my pressure rechecked to see if the pressure has improved. Overall, my office visit as a New Patient was above and beyond. Today was my first time at the Davis Eye Center and my goodness was I blown away on all levels. When I walked in the waiting room, and honestly, the whole building itself was just so clean and well organized. The entire staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in all ways. It was truly the most thorough and professional eye exam I have ever had in my life, and I left feeling at ease and I even got some cute frames on top of it all! I was so nervous to have cataract surgery after I went with my friend when they were having theirs. We waited a long time after getting there and we're seated in rows of chairs that you touched elbows. The experience at The Davis Eye Center was very professional and organized. I was with a nurse immediately after getting there. After reviewing my medical info. I waited 10 mins to go back to operating room. The staff was so efficient and warm and friendly I quickly became reassured I made the right choice going with Davis. I already knew the surgeon Dr. Davis was the best in Ohio and his nurses and other staff were so efficient and friendly. I'm going back in a week to have my other eye have lazar surgery and I have 0 stress over going to do it all over again. Within a couple of hours after arriving home after my surgery, I received a very thoughtful surprise when someone came to my home. A delivery from Silver Lake florists were at my front door with a very lovely flower arrangement from Dr. Charles Davis. What a nice touch he sends to his patients . You are usually getting pretty old when having this surgery. That gesture put a smile on my face. Acts of kindness should be recognized. Plus I was driving the next day. I've been dealing with a cornea disease called karataconus for almost 18 years now. I had intact surgery to stop the progression of the disease as a result I was no longer able to get my glasses at Costco. I had done some work for the Davis family and wanted to give them a shot and making my new glasses and possibly contacts. For once in the past 18 years I can finally see 2020. The staff was amazing. The doctors were very knowledgeable and the whole establishment seems very state of art. As far as the people on here complaining about Davis Eye Center, I suggest you click on their page and see how many positive reviews they actually leave for anybody. These folks are great, and I will go back to them over and over again. Wear the glasses more than I've ever paid for, sure. You pay for this isn't America's best or Pearle Vision. read more

Having read these reviews I was curious how this visit would be. I've been coming here for years, and I've had good experiences. I really like the large eye frame selection in the adjourning room. Entering, the lobby is big and warmly decorated. The one bathroom is not always adequate, but it's clean. The ladies at the window update your information. I've always experienced a reasonable wait time. When called to the back a technician checks your eyes with two machines, and makes notes for the doctor. Then she adds drops. The doctor checks the eyes and describes your eye issues. There are several doctors in the group. I have Dr. Bischoff. When telling me about my eyes he has been spot on to how I see. I have seen Dr. Bischoff for glasses, contact lenses and now I'm learning about my cataracts. Dr. Davis is the surgeon. He does all surgeries including LASIK. I will have a consultation with him next about removing the cataract on my reading eye. read more

First, if anyone is treated rudely, I certainly understand your review, because I would never accept that; however, I have never met / dealt with a single person there who was less than professional and friendly ... fun and compassionate. Dr. Davis has been successfully caring for the eyes of my family for as many years as I can remember, and I'll wait months if I am out of state to only see Dr. Davis. I'll never forget the first time back after my parents passed away a year apart from each other. Always having Mother with me, I found tears coming as I sat in the waiting room, and the ladies came to me immediately in kindness. I am in my sixties now, and I have never worn glasses. My eyes are probably a bit odd in that one is nearsighted and the other farsighted. I tried to wear progressive lenses once, and the optical center was so patient with me as I stated I simply could not wear them. They did the right thing. I love the people in the optical center also and think highly of them. My Lasik surgery in the South was a bit botched I think (although extremely expensive); yet, it kept my vision perfect for years with follow up visits to Dr. Davis. I had cataract surgery (as did my parents) with Dr. Davis, and did not need glasses after that still. I credit Dr. Davis for that. Last week, I questioned an exam that seemed a little rushed unlike any I'd had there before in all these years. Glasses were made by the prescription as I finally want glasses for distance and another pair for computer and doing art. Rather than tell me it is what it is, they reexamined me the next day with an extremely thorough exam as always in the past. They tweaked the prescription a little to make me happy even though my vision has declined with age, and they did new glasses even. I can't praise Davis Eye Center highly enough. With all I've been through since the death of my parents (hurricanes, floods, and so much more), I am doing my best to make it through daily; yet, to have vision problems would break me, and I trust all at Davis Eye Center to insure that I will have the best vision possible. I am from Hudson, Ohio and Pawleys Island, S.C. and have lived coast to coast. As I stated, I will wait until in Ohio for my vision care, because I only trust Dr. Davis for the best. read more

I have been going to the Davis Eye Center for about 17 years now. Mainly out of habit, but also because I have always liked Dr. Shaheen, if it wasn't for him I would have found some place else a long time ago. Dr. Shaheen is really great. The women behind the counter are extremely rude. I cannot stress this enough, they are snotty and act as if they are truly going out of their way to even speak to you...ladies, let me remind you all, you're receptionists, not doctors. And there's a reason why these ladies never made it far enough to get their doctorates, they screw up every bit of paperwork and then turn around and blame you for their mistakes. The huge portraits blown up on the wall of Dr. Davis's kids are overkill. Sure, everyone likes seeing a few family photos when your kids are tots...when you're still forcing your 3 kids to pose Olan Mills style in their 30's, it's creepy. read more

This eye center came extremely highly recommended by neighbors. Then we call, they were unprofessional, and ultimately refused to make more than two appointments for my family. F'off. Absolutely blow away by my experience with Davis Eye Center and Dr. Davis. I got LASIK surgery done this past Friday and am seeing 20/15 just 3 days later. Not only was the staff incredible friendly and helpful, but they were extremely efficient. They all knew what they needed to do and got me in and out without a bunch of waiting around. Dr. Davis is a world class surgeon. During the 5-6 minute LASIK procedure he talked me through everything and was very calming. The procedure had absolutely no pain or discomfort. I walked out of the operating room and could immediately read the nurse's name tags from across the room. After a 2-3 hour nap that afternoon I woke up and could see very clearly with a bit of cloudiness which I was told was normal. Each of the last two mornings I have woke up with even clearer vision. The only side effect I am noticing is dry eyes which is a normal side effect of LASIK. Overall I cannot say enough about Dr. Davis and the entire staff at Davis Eye Center. My experience there was nothing short of incredible! read more

The people in the surgery center are top notch, and were excellent in my care, however the billing department is incompetent. They gave me the cost of my surgery, and did not mention that the surgeon would be billing separately giving me a false cost, ie they lied, and I do not work with liars. read more

I'm very disapointed in my bilateral Cateract care.I acquired complications from the cateract surgery.This was already deviststating enough with A copay of & 700.dollars due before surgery.Although they did agree to 400 up front and the balance in$ 140 and $125 due June and July.I developed black spots and floaters immediately after surgery.And had extensive blurring.Dr.Davis said this would be cleared by a laser treatment.3 days before my treatment schedule (July 10) Saraah called to inform Me it would be another 295 copay.I told her that was impossible. That I'd call my carrier and see why .She informed Me they told Her without Copay they wouldnt cover.When I talked to the carrier they informed Me I was over charged the 2 Copays and I had $210 dollars due back to Me by Dr.Davis.I asked his office staff if I could just apply this to the 195 new Copay.They refused,saying it was in review.And that they couldn't make payment arrangements. Even though they had before, and I'd paid as required.Even though my carrier talked to them assuring payment.I also found that they billed for a new Cateract,which is impossible following lense replacment.But It was in fact a Capsular Opacifation which was a normal complication of Cateract surgery.Which should have fallen under the original surgery. Well They refused...So I ended up with the same eye problem as I started with Alot of money later. DR.DAVIS only was concerned with his Money ,not my Eye care. On every occasion I have been there, staff has been unbelievably rude, the doctors he been rude , they are overpriced and cheats. They said I needed glasses, so I went and got them, dished out a small fortune too. I went to another eye doctor, they tested my prescription on my glasses and they didn't even consider them prescription, because it was so slight. So, Davis says I need glasses, I trust them and buy glasses from them, then come to find out my glasses are useless. Great way to make money off of people who trust their docs. read more

We have used Davis Eye for almost thirty years and while support has been aloof at times, professional staff has always been competent and helpful. Today I went for a complete exam and to order glasses. I was there almost three hrs. When I first went in the place was packed with lines at windows but the real shock was I was the ONLY PERSON in there with a mask. These exams involve techs being right in your face! I asked technician to wear mask and she just scooted back a couple of inches. I mentioned to other employees that I was uncomfortable with no one in masks. I was smirked at, got eye-rolls. I said I assumed they would be following guidelines for medical facilities and was told they only follow Dr Davis guideline which is NO MASKS! I was shocked and horrified. The staff got even more belligerent and were actually pointing and laughing as I checked out. Manager actually told me to leave since I didn't like their policies! I was so upset when I left I had to sit in my car a few minutes to stop shaking (I'm 70 yrs old and weigh 100 lbs.). Needless to say, WE ARE DONE. I had eye surgery here. The staff was very good and very friendly; however, Davis Eye Center mandated I pay in full for the surgery to be performed. They now owe me a refund of over $200.00 the surgery was performed on Nov 9th. It's now Dec 27 and I've still not received my $200.00 refund. The staff person a actually said to me...you mean you can't wait a few days more for your refund? Really?? No! Davis Eye Center was going to cancel my surgery if I didn't pay in full a week before the surgery was to be performed. I expect the same courtesy back from them! My check should be in the mail the week of December to 10th not the week of December to 20th or so they say as I not received it yet! read more

I recently had both cataracts removed. Dr Davis did Lasik for my vision years ago and he is still the best in my opinion. I would not go anywhere else. Everyone is a pro there and you are made to feel comfortable and secure in the quality of care you'll be receiving.
