I received a root canal this morning performed by Dr. Kleinman and assisted by Diane (I think is her name). I cant think of any way it could have been a better experience. From the excellent receptionist thru the treatment and to the exit was all great. The shot to numb the area was gentle and easily tolerated. From that point on I felt no pain, nothing unpleasant and I was comfortable in the chair. Dr, Kleinman explained each and every step of the procedure just like he was a radio sports announcer for a ball game. I couldn't see what was happening but I could visualize it from his descriptions. I had shopped around all area endodontist for price, availability and reviews. SUMMARY ========= I am extremely satisfied & grateful for my entire recent evaluation/consult and treatment/follow-ups experience provided by -- and HIGHLY recommend -- Dr. Kleinman and his staff at Northern Arizona Endodontics. REFERRALS ========== After confirming that recent swelling in my gum above the upper left front tooth was a reinfection of a 25-year-old root canal (following tooth death after a sports trauma), my Prescott dentist referred me to: (1) Northern Arizona Endodontics, where I was able to immediately get an evaluation & consult appointment within a couple of days; in addition to (2) an alternative practice that had a 2nd office in PV with FIVE endodontists, but where they couldn't get me in for an evaluation & consult for FOUR MONTHS! EVAL/CONSULT ============= During the initial evaluation & consult, Dr. Kleinman used some amazing 3D-imaging technology to diagnose and visually detail (able to rotate along three axes) the issue: the infected tooth's crown screw post -- gold-plated, lead-free brass old technology IIRC) -- had originally pierced both the unusually curved root into and through the tooth, penetrating a small distance into the gum (kind of a minor miracle that it didn't become infected sooner!). Dr. Kleinman explained that he could try to save the tooth & crown by: (1) cleaning out the infected area; (2) shaving the protruding screw post back into the root; (3) filling the tooth; (4) performing a precautionary apicoectomy on that tooth root while in there surgically to minimize potential future infection; and filling the missing bone with medication to promote bone regrowth. To his credit, he told me he expected the odds of ultimate long-term success to be 50/50. APPOINTMENT ============= The surgery was initially scheduled for three months out; the Front Office Manager, Christi, explained that because Dr. Kleinman was one of the few (possibly the only, but don't recall exactly) endodontists in Northern AZ who accepted insurance -- he was in high demand. I explained that I didn't have insurance and would be paying cash -- and asked if they had a wait-list I could get on in case of cancellations? She said "Yes," added me to it, explained that if she called in the future I needed to answer (as she wouldn't be leaving voicemails) -- and to my great surprise and joy phoned the next day saying there was a cancellation and opening the following week, which I of course accepted (requesting sick leave from work). SURGERY ========= Dr. Kleinman descriptively explained each action he performed during the surgery -- and the assistants worked well in coordination. He prescribed some NSAIDs and pain-killers (which I decided to forego), and kindly gave me his personal phone # explaining that I could call him if there was subsequent bleeding so we could do additional emergency suturing -- as it was very important to prevent reinfection during the healing process. He provided me with a written list of instructions to follow --which I REALLY appreciated. FOLLOW-UPS ============ We serially scheduled and I was x-rayed at subsequent appointments (initially to check for reinfection) -- and finally six months after the surgery, x-rays showed continual bone regrowth with a little space left to fill. Prognosis: SUCCESS! Dr. Kleinman explained that the first year after surgery is the most vulnerable to reinfection -- and of course to contact the office again if any pain infection, bleeding or other issues arose around that tooth. The doctor and all of the staff (except one), were great! Whomever answered the phone on Tuesday morning, May 26th, around 8:45, was awful!.. Rude, talked over me, very curt, unsympathetic , seemed impatient. My husband and I were very apprehensive about going in, fearful of how we would be treated. Thankfully the doctor and everyone else was fantastic and I believe the woman I spoke to left early. So in the end, all went well, but initially it was very off putting. I had a root canal and resorption repair procedure done on Nov. 22. I developed a terrible taste in my mouth in the area where it was done. When I called to mention it and see if I could see the doctor about it, Megan the receptionist, told me I had to go back to my dentist. She was very unprofessional. She said it's probably dry mouth. Since when is the receptionist diagnosing things over the phone? I asked if she would at least record it and tell the doctor and I never got a call back. I told my dentist what was going on the next day and they called them and asked if a doctor could see me. The other receptionist, said they would see me but if it wasn't related to the procedure I would be charged $250. Then she went on about how it could be Covid causing the taste. What a joke. They had no interest in any follow up care after a major procedure where a good portion of my gum was removed. I did go see my dentist, and he said it was a sloppy job and that the taste is most likely coming from a sloppily done filling that is not sealed and leaking into the gum. I have to go to a periodontist to either have the filling redone and a gum graft or extracted. I am very disappointed in the quality of care at this place, and those receptionists should probably be working in a law office, not a medical one. I understand the procedure was complex and the doctor did what he could. But there was no way for me to get any kind of check up with these gate guards taking it upon themselves to act as medical professionals. I cannot recommend this place. I basically threw away $2000 for a procedure that will not work and have to go see another professional to have it resolved. Meanwhile, this taste in my mouth is horrible! read more

Professional, kind, considerate, compassionate care for a root canal. From start to finish. For example, I couldn't find the office and was running a few minutes behind. I received a phone call from Page in the front office providing me with directions. The dental chair had a massage feature and you could request what music you'd like...very nice. A bit of a negative was conversation through the procedure about baseball, etc. I guess it would be unreasonable to expect complete silence. Hopefully there won't be a next time, but if there is, I will bring some earbuds. read more

Kara is the rudest! She's a passive aggressive employee. She's sarcastic and tries so hard to be funny that it's cringe and embarrassing. And comes off as unprofessional my kids were even weird out and asked what's wrong with her. If you want an overall good experience don't go here not worth it. She gossips about patients we witnessed while waiting at the office and we also witnessed how inpatient she was with a struggling senior who could barely walk for no reason. She's always been rude evey single time we dealt with her. She is the true definition of an unsatisfied unhappy white Karen playing favorites when even other staff looked uncomfortable. I have a tooth with a root canal that's about 30 years old or close to it. I guess over time it's been building up bacteria and my dentist was concerned that there might be an infection, so he referred me to Dr. Kleinman ( I hope I spelled it correctly) . The staff, phenomenal! The Dr....Amazing. To have to do oral surgery, cut back the gums and clean and correct the root canal, and to sew it all up and stitch it and to not have any pain over the next two weeks while it heals is unheard of. The Dr explained in great detail what was needed to be done, the prognosis, and the possible outcomes, so I went in fully aware of what to expect every step of the way and so far everything looks good and it has healed accordingly, so thank you Dr and staff of Northern Arizona Endodontics. read more

Being beyond terrified of the dentist, I have not been since I was young. Having multiple broken teeth and needing work bad I was sent here to get a root canal. Entering the office I was holding back the river of tears. The receptionist was nothing but kind and warm. Once I got back the assistant helped get me out of my fear mind frame and started helping me relax. The Dentist came in and he was very kind, he walked me though everything as we did it and make sure I knew if there was going to be any pain I could alert them right away and they will fix it. My experience was the complete opposite of the previous reviewer... In fact, I'm kinda shocked that a review of this place could be so bad based on my experience there. I was in the area visiting family over this past Christmas/New Year and, needing a root canal, developed some serious pain. The doc made sure that I was able to enjoy christmas with my family and got me into his office immediately afterward. I was a difficult patient, he and his team were great and didn't have any pain after those that first day. And truthfully, the pain that I did have was nothing compared to the pain that I had before going into his office. I was very impressed with the level of care and, even being from out of town and never meeting me prior, the doctor gave me a follow up call over the New Year Holiday to make sure that I was doing okay. Being beyond terrified of the dentist and needles, I been since I was young. I was sent here entering the Martha, the receptionist was nothing but kind and very friendly. Once I got back the assistant is very friendly professional and kind. The assistant very friendly talk to me until the dentist came in and he was very kind and gentle I never felt the needle, he walked me though everything as we did it and make sure I knew if there was going to be any pain I could alert them right away and they will fix it. The dentist dr. Brimhall was very rude during my root canal. I had pain for weeks afterwords which the secretary said was normal. It didnt feel normal to me and I could never eat on that side of my mouth. I called at 1 week and 3 weeks because of pain, secretary blew me off each time. Even 6 weeks after his root canal. I finally tried to eat on that side thinking "give me a break, it's been this long, I should be able to eat on it by now". Nope, got an infection, massive, and no amount of pain meds worked, ibuprofen, hydrocodone. I was miserable for 5 days. The secretary told me on Friday morning that if I wasn't swollen yet then he wouldn't see me that day no matter the pain I was in. Friday at 2:30 swelling kicked in my entire side of my face. They closed at 2pm apparently. After talking to dr Brimhall all weekend he wouldn't just come on and see what the hell the problem was with the tooth he did! All he did was order drugs for me, like I really wanted my Memorial Day weekend ruined cuz he wouldn't just see me Friday? What an ass! Then I had to wait til antibiotics to kick in for swelling to go down before the tooth could even get pulled! My husband called him to tell him I want an implant instead of a bridge, dr Brimhall says, 'well this changes everything! I can't do an implant! Ill have to call another dentist to pull it!' Then HUNG up the phone on my husband. Sooo rude. Last time ill ever be at his office!!! read more
