It appears the hotel hasn't been updated since the Reagan administration. The decor is outdated and worn. The place is dark, dirty, and dank. It smells like a high school locker room after the homecoming game. The carpet was severely stained, the refrigerator didn't get cold. We travel with insulin so we had to put it on ice instead of keeping it in the fridge. The sink isn't in the bathroom, IT'S BY THE FRONT DOOR! It does not meet the expectations I have for a decent IHG property. If in town again I will definitely stay elsewhere unless it's under new ownership and been renovated.

I was left to communicate messages between the building staff and the catering staff and that really wasn't my place. Their pricing is also inconsistent. While I picked up a brochure with pricing at Altgeld, I was told by catering that the price had increased years ago. I ended up paying the price in my brochure. I then attended another bridal event at the college and that same brochure was still being handed out with the supposed incorrect price.

They had adult frozen drinks, such a cool option. And not extremely overpriced. We attended the screening of the cult classic The Lost Boys. The quality was great, as was the sound. We enjoyed the whole experience. We arrived early to get the "good seats". So we got screens showing the history of the theatre and information about the renovations. The place looks great and they put on a bunch of cool events. I highly recommend the Egyptian Theatre.

Scott had everything set up and ready for me, and we were able to start decorating the venue the day before. He was always accessible and had absolutely no problem with me contacting him constantly with more questions or requests. The space itself is large and extremely accommodating. We had over one hundred guest, plus a DJ booth, guest book table, gift table, cake table, a full size buffet and a photo booth and there was still room to spare. The entire venue is beautiful and scenic. The gardens are always in bloom at the gazebo and looked great for the ceremony. We had a room to get ready in plus an open bar. And it was still one of the cheapest places in town to hold the wedding at. The Terrace Room was wonderful and I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

The place was empty for awhile until another group came in. I felt like it was really pricey at essentially $35/per person for an hour- over $100 for 3 of us. Also, the lanes are really short and we had the axe bounce out of the enclosure more than once. I would definitely try axe throwing again, but maybe somewhere else.
