Shane is fantastic! Service appointment was booked over the phone. Shane was tidy, polite, and very thorough. He tested our gas log starter for leaks, adjusted its angle as it was not installed properly. Swept the chimney from inside the house, went on the roof and found our flashing loose so he fixed it and wiped down our door handles. The price was less than we were quoted by two other companies. Needed our gas fireplace serviced as it hasn't had any professional service, check up since installing 6 years ago. Btw, it's not that easy to find fireplace people up here even though on would think it is easy. Shane came out yesterday and took the fireplace apart and cleaned it and checked for gas leaks. I contacted Northern Lights Fireplace (NLF) for service on a gas insert that had fallen into disrepair. The staff was very friendly and helpful scheduling an appointment for me. The repairman Shane showed up on time after calling me to let me know his ETA. He had all the tools and things he needed and setup drop cloths to not make a mess. He cleaned and checked all aspects of the system. He installed a new RF remote control for the insert (with batteries!) and tested everything. He even cleaned the glass inside and out. It's like a brand new unit. The price for the service and remote was $300 which was lower than another estimate I received. I think it was a good value and I'm a very satisfied customer. I wanted to have a safety inspection done on our fireplace and found Northern Lights on a web search. Shane the owner was courteous and informative about what he was doing. He did a full check, cleaned the fireplace, readjusted our gas logs and added some sparkling rocks. He also was able to answer my question about loss of power and that we would still be able to start our fireplace using the wall switch after relighting the pilot.
