Pilot let us know when we went through the first bit of turbulence. (He knew it was my first time flying) felt like a rollercoaster to me. I was good with it. He explained all the safety protocols preflight and explained how the headsets worked. He made sure to included our names several times during the flight to keep us included. His knowledge of the area was incredible and it was great learning about the area. He did try and find a moose and was successful. It was in the hotter part of the day, during a heat wave and he found one for us. (The only one we saw on our trip to Maine) It was such a great time seeing the area from a bird's eye view. Especially Mt. Katahdin. Because I am outdoorsy, but not outdoorsy enough to want to climb that mountain. Lol. Only way I was gonna be able to see the top of that thing was from the air. It was one of the most exciting, highlights of my trip. I will always remember this trip above all others because it was the first time I ever flew. If you want a good experience, fly Katahdin Air. They are amazing people, who care about their customers and the area in which they fly. Totally amazing, would definitely fly with them again!!!!

This is my absolute favorite place to stay in Millinocket. We've stayed in hotels, houses, etc…read more but this Lodge has a pool table and lots of room to have all your friends staying locally as well to all meet up and hang out together. They decorations are so cool you could spend an hour just exploring. And, the kitchen!! Has everything you could think of to make enough for a crowd. The owner knows all the sweet spots to travel to and will even show you around! Dont miss out on staying here! Its on the trails, close to store for gas or a license, and close to town and restaurants.

Marcel and Wendi run a tight ship and I always appreciate a campground with rules that are followed. Everything was clean and well maintained except for available laundry service. Their dryer was not working during our stay but the Laundro-mat in Millinocket was great. Quiet hours were quiet. Their RV tank pumper service was very helpful. Marcel was very helpful with local services. We shredded our Jeep tire on the Katahdin Ironworks Road and Marcel helped us get it replaced. I highly recommend this campground.

They also have a wood fired pizza oven and the best fishing around right on site. Their web site could use a little work for more details (each camp site is different) however, unless they are fully booked, they will work with you to find the site that is right for you. Email seems to be the best contact option. Don, the manager, was extremely helpful and always went the extra mile to ensure our stay exceeded our expectations. If you are use to tenting or camping without hookups and your blue tooth ear piece and your tablet in front of you, you'll love this place. However, they do have limited electrical and water hookups if you need them on the RV sites. Showers are on the office side. The wild side (other side) just has out houses. This place really is a gem for nature lovers!

I love the 19th century feel. Did not love the nonexisting wifi - I had to go down to the living room to get any semblance of connection, but my room was up top with zero service. Not the quietest place but I've had worse. The weird part - for the cheaper rooms there's a shared bathroom. Fine, it's an old house. But the other person didn't lock the door. Didn't notice the "VACANT" when you walked in, eh? Well you sure noticed me! I hightailed it back, heard that person rush back to their room, and the bathroom was all set for my shower. Unforgettable is a positive thing, right? Can't really speak to the hotel staff as they were never present - just had my key at the front desk and name/room number. Anyone could walk in there and take a key and a room - until the person whose room it was supposed to be walks in and doesn't have a key. Not great, but at least the room locks! Oh, and my room had a reclining rocking-couch. I kid you not. I wanted to sit down and I had to jam a fireplace log under it so I could sit without it rocking all over the place. (I wanted to try to sit down with wifi. That wasn't happening.) Verdict: If you need to stay in Lincoln, I don't want to be too harsh with my star rating. It's not a terrible place, it's just very much walk-in-and-sleep. Nothing else to recommend for it.
