Another amazing visit in the books! Brought our son this time and we really enjoyed the shuffle board game. Live music. Had the flounder po boy and hands down best flounder I've had. My son had the fish and chips Hubs had the ribeye steak sandwich and he said it was so good he wanted another one

Have mixed feelings. The food is hit or miss--most likely frozen (lack flavor and could definitely use some refinement). Additionally, the condiment area near the ordering station was sticky, which is a bit off-putting. Bathrooms were a bit of a mess but there's children running in and out so that's expected. Had a beer tasting flight and also tasted my family's selections too. Wasn't a hardcore fan of any of them in particular but logged them into Untapped easily.

Camping at Westmoreland or visiting Montross, stop in to Northern Neck Brewing. Not only do they brew delicious beer, they carry local VA wines and have a kitchen. The staff were very welcoming and the food tasty. Beers were good too but my friend and I shared an Ingleside Albariño. The building looks brand new with ample seating inside and out. Highly recommend!

Love this place! We were looking for a casual place to get something to eat and stumbled upon norther neck brewery. They have tons of outdoor seating (perfect because we had our dog). The inside is also large and fun. They had live music when we went in. The bartender was so friendly and helpful. I had a wine and husband had a beer. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. A pretzel and fries to share. Everything was delicious! We will definitely be back!

Service from staff 10/10 Food 0/5…read moreWe come once a year to visit the FAM. So Old Rapp Tap is a once a year venue for us. Today I was totally disappointed. Seriously. We didn't even eat since breakfast so we were starving! it's more like a diner It just wasn't good. This once a year rotation is now on skip...... The fish and chips............One piece of fish. The Cajun pasta no flavor Even the wings/ asked for all flats and they did that (again 10/10 customer service) but the wings had no flavor Our waiter was AMAZING! He was the best part of thr experience.

Midway through our dinner the main lights dimmed a bit which made the string lights look like stars making for a very romantic atmosphere. They do offer outdoor seating as well but we opted to stay inside, however we saw a fire pit and corn hole which could make for a fun outdoor evening. The food was amazing and came out extremely quickly. I think we waited less than 10 minutes which surprised me. I ended up getting the soft shell crab special which came with 3 small soft shell crabs and two sides. The Caesar salad was well dressed but was missing the salty umami flavor I come to expect with Caesar it almost tasted a bit bland but the romaine used was fresh and I appreciated the crunch/green it offered my meal, I don't think I'd recommend it being worth the upcharge and will probably try another side when returning. The fries are handcut and delicious, they also have old bay along with the typical salt & pepper on the table which when sprinkled on to the fries definitely take it up a notch. My crabs were phenomenal, perfectly fried and the butter sauce they provided with it was a delicious addition for dipping. My partner got a pulled pork sandwich and he shared that it was very good. It had a nice vinegar kick expected from Carolina BBQ. Our server Zachary was also extremely attentive and made sure we had our meals, waters were topped off and gave us any and all accoutrements we could need when asked. Overall, we had a great experience at Old Rapp Taphouse, we went on a Saturday night and found there to be a steady stream of people coming in and out but still received such great service and food. Highly recommend.

There wasn't much in Tappahannock that fit the bill, so we just decided to try this place. We were more than pleased with our choice. The somewhat drab and unimpressive exterior will fool you: This place is one of the most fun and inviting places you'll ever set foot. There's a respectable selection of beer, good pub food, a wonderful little bier garden, pinball machines(!), and some of the friendliest humans (both staff and patrons) you could ever hope to meet. If I went into specifics, this would be an unreadably long review. So if you yourself in the area, just take a chance on this place, and go. You'll love it. If you don't, I have to think that's on you.

The wings were good, though the sauce was drizzled on rather than fully tossed. Cons:The fries were just okay. Despite staying to enjoy the live music, our wings and fries were served in to-go containers, and we weren't provided plates--expected to eat straight from the boxes, even though plates were clearly available behind the bar. Beer and cider selections were also more limited than expected. Overall: The venue has a great atmosphere, live entertainment, and decent wings, but the limited drink selection and the inconvenience of eating from to-go containers indoors significantly affected the overall experience. Therefore, I need to give this one a 3 out of 5.

The tasting room is spacious and comfortable, with tables and couches perfect for relaxing with friends. There's also a charming gift shop, along with a selection of cheeses and snacks available for purchase. Cons:I tried the five-red tasting for $12, but none of the wines were especially memorable. The pours were inconsistent, with some wines served as one sip, some two, and others three. The cheeses for purchase are pricey, with 4 oz costing $13. The most significant issue was the wine glasses--each sip had a strong odor reminiscent of dirty sponge water, indicating that their glass-cleaning process needs major improvement. Overall: A charming vineyard with rich history and a comfortable tasting space, but the wines didn't impress and snacks are pricey. Great for the atmosphere, less so for the tasting. Based on this experience, I rate this establishment a 2.5 out of 5.

Then we waited a while before our server returned to take our food order. When our food finally arrived it was good but not great. The veggie omelette with tots was fair, the tots were seasoned but everything else was not and a bit bland. Similarly the grilled chicken club was just ok. We were here earlier than usual (10:30 am, don't judge me for drinking before noon!!!) and we're the only customers. It's uniquely located at a camp ground, but parking is a bit limited. The tasting room is small but has amble seating. There was a piano in the tasting room and no one was at the tasting room when we entered. My daughter who is a beginner pianist, wanted to play. Since there were no signs on the piano that forbid people touching, she went ahead and played. Then an older gentleman came in and told us in a stern tone that the piano is not for playing. He was not friendly at all and even after we apologized and ordered a flight for sampling, he still was not engaging. I'm not sure if he is the brew master or just someone works for the campsite store, but he didn't seem too happy to be there. We had the 2 stouts, an Amber, and pilsner on tap for our flight. They were all just OK. We didn't want to order more because his attitude and the sense that we were not welcomed there... Which was too bad because it was a nice space with plenty of outdoor seating, a playground in the back for kids to play while parents enjoy some refreshing beer. We will most likely not go back again given the cold-shoulder treatment.
