If I was only rating the beers, I'd give 5 stars all day long. I love the Rappahannock Red, the Slugging Gus, the Mae West and Mae Westmorland and the O'dark-thirty. Being a fan of the beers, I really was looking forward to visiting the brewery for lunch. I was a bit disappointed with the experience. We were seated right away and the dining room was only moderately busy. Our server took a long time to greet us. We ordered some beers to start and it took a long time before our beers arrived. Then we waited a while before our server returned to take our food order. When our food finally arrived it was good but not great. The veggie omelette with tots was fair, the tots were seasoned but everything else was not and a bit bland. Similarly the grilled chicken club was just ok. First time trying 6 Bears & A Goat Brewing Company after seeing a lot of positive feedback online. While we're glad we gave it a shot, and may be back for a beer, we probably won't be returning for the food anytime soon... We stopped in for their Mother's Day brunch thinking it would be a great way to sample a variety of items, but unfortunately the experience didn't match the price or expectations. The positives first, service was good overall, the staff and our server was friendly enough. The beer selection was easily the highlight of the visit. Even as casual beer drinkers, we could appreciate the variety they offered, and the flights are a great option for anyone wanting to explore different styles. The food and buffet itself, however, was disappointing. The eggs were mass-produced and had an odd flavor, the roast was dry and fatty, the sausage had an odd texture, and the mac and cheese was soggy. Most of the other items were just average, and nothing really stood out. Unfortunately most of the family wasn't a fan wasn't able to finish or eat, with most of kids left hungry, which was frustrating considering what we paid per person. That alone made the experience feel underwhelming. We may give the regular menu a try someday, but based on the buffet quality, our expectations are definitely lower now. Overall, we'd come back for the beer and atmosphere, but we'll likely pass on the food moving forward. read more

I really like this bar and Grill. I think it's very fun how they do community events like trivia. One of my coworkers brought me to six bears and a goat on trivia night. It was great. I standardly like to eat at places that have a little bit more for me since I'm a celiac. There isn't a lot of choice. Many of the foods are bar foods. But in fairness, many diners go there for the drinks in the bar food. Their service is stellar from the welcome you get when you walk in the door to the concern and care with which they take make and deliver your order. However, unless you're Elon Musk, Bill Gates, or Jeff Bezos, making a regular pilgrimage to 6 Bears will break your bank. $9 for a beer. 3 beers with a decent tip for the awesome bartenders makes $40. $120 for 9 beers over 3 days (including tip). Awesome brewery AND full service restaurant right off Warrenton Rd (17) here in South Stafford/Fredericksburg. Family friendly, tons of different specials and activities during the week. Plenty of outside space for Cornhole or just hanging out. They are working on a bigger parking lot which is excellent! They have happy hours and lunch specials. Live music, dungeons and dragons tournament, all kinds of activities. Food is fresh made in house. Wings are excellent and kids meals (see photo) are so nice I might order one next time! read more

Our second visit to 6 Bears and a Goat was, unfortunately, not as positive as our first. The actual food itself was still great once it arrived, hence the three stars, but the experience left something(s) to be desired. Our server was very nice, but wasn't very good. I get the impression that she was under 21 because the bartender had to bring our beer, so the issues may have been inexperience. The appetizers took a VERY long time to come out and, subsequently, the entrees came very shortly thereafter, right on top of them. My son's burger didn't have bacon, as ordered, and we were completely done with our meals by the time the bacon showed up. Those issues likely weren't the waitress' fault, but while those and other minor issues were going on, the waitress wasn't checking on us at all, and we had to keep flagging her down when we needed anything. Also, right at about 6:00pm, the music got cranked up. Thankfully, we weren't right under a speaker, but it was loud enough that you were feeling the bass. I had thought we were going to a restaurant, but the experience turned into a clubbing experience with thumping bass. You shouldn't have to raise your voice to be heard at your own table in a restaurant, particularly at the price point that 6 Bears and a Goat has. Having only been here twice, I don't know if it is a pattern, but our Saturday evening experience was very different than our Sunday evening experience. (Both at 5:30pm.) Since the food is so good, we will likely give a Sunday night a try again at some point, and see how it goes. However, we won't be going back on a Saturday night...not even at an early evening time like 5:30pm. Even if the service issues were a one-time thing, the music was just too loud. read more

We decided to take our 2 adult sons, and one of their girlfriends here, who were visiting from out of state. 6 Bears and a Goat" had a live band playing outside on Saturday night for Memorial Day weekend, and immediately upon walking in, my middle son was pleased with the establishment. He loves a good brewery, and liked everything about the tavern. We had a lengthy wait for outdoor seating, but we sat outside listening to music, while we waited for a table. They all ordered some specialty brews, and also ordered a flight. My husband had a mixed drink that he really enjoyed. Dinner was great! The first time we were there, I ordered the fish, and wasn't a fan. But the burger my husband and I split this time, was really good (we got a BYOB with bacon and cheddar). We also ordered the bacon and cheese covered fries, and a side salad (was highly impressed with their side salad). Everyone else also got burgers. Two had sweet potato fries, and another of our party got regular. Server was fantastic; polite, professional, and pleasant! Definitely made up for the day we had! Probably great beers, I don't drink so didn't try any. Went to Mother's Day Brunch. Paper plates with plastic utensils. Steamship had one cut, very well done. Scrambled eggs were hard, bacon barely cooked, sausage looked like it had been boiled not grilled in a pan. Ordered a NA Bloody Mary, it came half way through the meal. I came here with my wife and best friend before a Fredericksburg Nationals game and we were very impressed! The area with tables was reserved so there was a long wait but we found some space the beer. tried many of their beers in samplers in a ship anchor shaped flight and one other on draft that was a fruit sour. We took some beer home and love the fact they are the official craft beer of the Fredericksburg Nationals and make some exclusive beers for them. We would love to return and would also love it if they built a second location in or around D.C. as it is a great brewery that supports veterans. read more

We came on Sunday for brunch, and it was kind of busy, but our server Stephanie was amazing and actually, the food came out pretty quick. The place had a lot of people in the outside tents and a good number of people indoors but multiple table were empty. The person at the host station said it would be at last 30 minutes for a table. I had to get the bartender's attention to order our drinks. We ordered two beers and just closed our tab immediately because we didn't want to deal with the wait for another drink. On our second visit, half of the menu items were unavailable because they had a festival the previous day. The food was served hot on the outside but cold on the inside. Which is unfortunate because I do like the staff. Two months after a visit, I was unexpectedly approached and **berated by the owner, Mark Faller**, over an internal staff issue that I had no part in. He claimed that a server had been drinking at my table during a prior visit and said this could put his license at risk. To be clear: I never saw the server drinking, she did not appear intoxicated, and no one from management ever asked me what I observed. The accusation came from another server who was reportedly upset about an unrelated issue and chose to bring it up while quitting. It's troubling enough that this internal drama was mishandled--but even more upsetting that, as a customer, I was dragged into it. Rather than handling it professionally or verifying the facts, Mr. Faller blamed me directly. He even said we "should not have let her drink," which was baffling and unprofessional. A manager later apologized on his behalf, but the damage was done. As a loyal patron, I should never have been put in the middle of internal staffing issues, let alone blamed for them. If this is how 6 Bears & a Goat chooses to treat regular, paying customers, then I will gladly take my business elsewhere. read more

Food and Service never consistent! Our food came out cold, and we sent it back. My Husbands food came back out very hot; my food was not! Tots were cold and cheesesteak was cold with center slightly warm. The cheese was not melted all the way and meat was over cooked. It was not busy at all so very frustrating! Food was good, beer was good. Live music was loud inside (couldn't hear each other across the table) but they offer seating outside as well.

You must try their seltzers here. They are the best seltzers I have every had and that includes the big brands like white claw, trulys, etc. They come in multiple flavors: coconut, mango, and strawberry. I don't know for a fact but they might even use real fruits for flavor it did not taste artificial at all. My husband ordered their actual beer and it was amazing as well, I tried a few sips. We went while they were hosting an event for Veterans. There was live music and some other vendors. Great atmosphere, the brewery is pretty large inside. They have food that they serve as well here. It is really a hidden gem tucked away on a back road. Highly recommend if you live in the area to check this place out. read more

So this is my second visit to 6 Bs & a G, and I regret giving them a second chance. This restaurant has such great potential, but I can't think of a single thing to like. Both visits were met with awful food; the wait to get the food, and even being a bar, the beer is not worthy of a repeat. Our lovely server, Maddie, did what she could, but the menu or the chef needs to be updated. This second visit, we were there on Mother's Day, but there wasn't a crowd. We saw the remnants of their "special" Mother's Day brunch, which I have seen better at a Motel 6 (no offense, Motel 6), and we were also at a time when they were switching from their brunch menu to their dinner menu, so most things weren't available. But what was available wasn't even mediocre. We ordered a bratwurst sausage wrapped in bacon, but it arrived smothered with the most horrible cheese type of "sauce" - the meat was cold, the bacon was leftover from their brunch, and it was just plain awful. A third visit will not be in the cards for me as there are too many restaurants to choose from. Word of advice: change the menu and get a cook who can cook. This place is a super cute brewery. We came here with my clients to celebrate after they signed a contract for their new build house right down the road! They loved the idea of a heated patio so we could talk about the options, design center appointment and overall just how they felt. They wanted to check out the patio since they have two dogs - that in the future they hoped to bring. We did a round of drinks and some food items like french fries, poutine, and I ordered the corn beef and cabbage egg rolls. The food was meh to ok. A lot of things we asked for on the menu originally, were not available (yet not marked as so on the menu- food and drinks). It took a while to find parking (limited as they rent out the front right room for parties and one was in session). It took a while for the heat to kick on and warm up the patio area, even though we called ahead. Even though it was an accident, I was spilled on by a beer when the server put it down - and we had to get napkins for the spillage on the table too. They did apologize though and I wasn't wearing anything of high dollar worth that day. The breweries outside tent, had a good use of space (we forgot to ask about dog friendliness). The inside had clean lines and was very open and airy feeling. They had merch in the front for stickers to shirts. They had glass windows so you can see into the brewing rooms. The bathrooms were clean and really nice! Overall - I would say maybe we came on a off-day for the brewery. It didn't help that there was a party going on in the front room, which could have taken away from staffing, food options and parking. Despite high expectations, our first visit to this restaurant was a disappointment, with flavorless dishes and high prices. The food did not live up to the rave reviews and recommendations. Our party of five ordered a variety of dishes, and the consensus was unanimous, every dish lacked any and all flavor. The appetizer of fried mozzarella came out Luke warm with the cheese already solidifying back to its original form. The patty melts meat was unseasoned and did not fill the entire sandwich, making some bites more like a grilled cheese. The Rubin was missing key ingredients such as the house made mustard, upon requesting mustard we were provided with tiny individual wrapped packets. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich looked promising, but it again lacked seasoning and flavor. I doubt we will return to this restaurant. read more

We were okay with the wait being a little longer than expected even with all the empty tables in the building but the bartender being extremely rude and dismissive made us leave. The hosts told our family we could order food at the bar and then go sit outside since they were at capacity inside. When we went to talk to the bartender he rudely told us we were not allowed to order food and what the host said to me was "nothing further from the truth".
