The weather was pristine when we went, which made every seat (indoor or on the patio) a good one! It was naturally well-lit at the time we went. Sunday afternoon around 2pm was pretty quiet here. Nice patio and plenty of space to hang out with friends. Sunny Vibes is a Mexican lager at 5.1% that was very light tasting. I would have like some lime but that's just a preference. Saized & Confused is a farmhouse saison at 7.2% was a very nice Belgian. There was food available but we didn't eat anything. Definitely will try The Lodge eatery that is right inside when you walk in. Overall pretty good tap list. Amy was serving beer and was very nice to us. We will be back again! read more

Big, airy, spacious taproom with seating inside and out. They share space with That Boy Good so come thirsty and hungry. You're a fool if you don't get some BBQ while you're here. I very much appreciated how they offer many different styles of beer. In other words, they have a couple of IPAs but not 20 of them. That's a really good thing. I ordered a 5 taster flight with two gose/sours, an IPA, a Belgian ale, and a porter. The Belgian ale was boozy and outstanding. The porter had a nice coffee flavor and the other beers were good. The music was a tad loud and a tad grungy but not too bothersome. They're dog and kid friendly and the barkeep was very attentive. Plenty of free parking in the lot. I would happily return. Honestly I loved this place. I've been here 4 times. In the last year since I moved here. Never have I ever experience so much guilt trip and rudeness. Upon checking out, the beer tender had the audacity to ask why I did not tip. He mentioned " that's how I feed my family and kids". Alone , that comment made me feel very uncomfortable. I've been here plenty of times just for the beer, which I enjoy! No complaints from me about that. Our last visit was mainly to try the food from their new kitchen, The Lodge. I was really pumped to give this a go as all the food looks so delicious on instagram, and I love to support local. I'm so sad to say I left so disappointed. We were recommended to get the fried chicken and poutine, which we did. We also ordered the steak fingerlings. The poutine was very underwhelming. The fries were lukewarm. The cheese curds were really chewy and actually quite hard to eat. There was hardly any gravy on it, so we asked the cashier if we could get extra. He never came back. The steak fingerlings were OK. Not horrible, but not good. A couple pieces were chewy. The fried chicken was by far the best dish, but even then it seemed a little burnt and was wayyyyyy too salty. Whether it was the dredging that was loaded with salt or the chicken itself from brining? I don't know, but it was kind of unbearable. The chicken was juicy though, so that was a plus. I really like to concept here and I am bummed we didn't have the best experience we were hoping for. Maybe it was just the items we selected or because it was a slower night B team was in the kitchen? I'm down to give it one more try and even give the brunch a go! Been here a few times, but probably won't be back. Oceanside has several new local microbreweries that deserve a try before heading back to this one. It's a fairly sterile interior with bench seating and a view of the beer vats and taps. The beers I've tried are not bad, but there's nothing special about them and they are definitely not well chilled. The bartenders are friendly enough and they know what the beer they serve is supposed to highlight. Part 2: They've lost their stable restaurant partner (That Boy Good), so they now rotate through local food vendors. While some have been really good, you can't plan on any one particular variety of food without calling to see who's serving that day. read more

This is a cute local brewery off the main drag in oceanside. I really appreciated the ease of parking (a large parking lot in front of the brewery). The had a small selection of beers and a couple sours. I had the "Here comes the sun" sour which is their version of POG... it was tasty I really enjoyed the mild flavor and a touch of tangy and sweet. I know the bbq place inside the brewery is its own space but the bbq was not very good. Beans were undercooked, greens were bland and underwhelming, meat was mediocre at best. read more

Stopped by this cool micro brewery on a recent trip and the craft brews did not disappoint. Great quality over quantity here. Limited addition runs of small batch brews that you can not only taste but see the difference. Spent a few hours sitting at the bar with the assistant brewer as my tap tender and not only were his suggestions spot on it was obvious at least to me that his passion for brewing high quality handcrafted beer was a second nature for him. I appreciated not only his input but also his commitment to his craft. It was apparent to me that the attention to the details and the understanding of true crafted brewing is was a part of the driving force to this establishment. The small ever changing board of offerings overhead was an impressive range of profiles and abv contents that should and would please most consumers palettes. I tries everything from the Pilsner to the Stout on the board that day and each was a great representation of its specific genre of brew, each was delicious and of very fine quality. 3.5 for the brews. The place is huge and I love the fact that it shares a space with TBG. We initially got tasters and felt all were just okay. Some of the beers were flat/stale, needed more carbonation. Only one beer stood out to us and we got pints of it- get your gloves. They told us it was a new keg, so it was very fresh tasting and had good flavors. We'll definitely be back since TBG is here, a good place to grab food and some brews. read more

I had no idea this place existed until some friends suggested going here for drinks. I've driven by a million times and just have never paid any attention to the building since it's not clearly marked... a black painted building. The space itself is shared with a restaurant called That Boy Good (TBG), which doesn't have any vegan friendly options. Even the French fries are in a shared frier with other animal products. Bummer! We just brought our own food to eat so we could enjoy some nice cold beer with it. I was a little bummed on how hot it was inside. There were quite a bit of people and apparently, they had just finished brewing so it was even hotter. I enjoyed the lagers for how how it was but at first we settled for a flight of 5 beers. I enjoyed the creamy one, "Turning Point" the best. The Mexican lager was another treat but I wish it was served with a lime ("Sunny Vibes") and the IPA, "Clear as Duck," was another good one. We have been to this spot twice. The first time was great; we enjoyed the slider flight, plate of pickled veg, fries, and also tried their four dipping sauces. Two of the four sauces were tasty, though 4 bucks for four small cups (think ketchup cups) of sauce was steep and what I would expect to pay at a fancy steak joint, not a burger bar. The second time the food was inedible. We got a burger, chicken tenders, and fennel coleslaw. The burger and chicken tenders were so over salted that we couldn't stomach more than a few bites of either of them. Like, salt burning your mouth and lips amount of salt bomb. On the flip side, the coleslaw had no seasoning whatsoever. Nobody came by to check how the food was on either trip. The spot was nice, though hot (no airflow in what is essentially a big garage). The first trip was a four star experience for the food. The second trip was a one star experience. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be back as, if I'm paying 18 bucks for a burger, I expect it to be a damn fine burger every time. read more

Tempted by the look on pictures, we stopped by by here, to see that, well, they had a really good photographer who knew how to stage an light the pieces of decor to make them look beautiful. Beers were ok, nothing stood out. Too Dank for Style was promising, but lost flavor mid taster. The onsite BBQ joint was a definite plus for the meat eater. Northern Pine Brewing has the benefit of sharing a space with TBG, a BBQ joint of decent quality. They have just about the coolest backdrop for the taps -- a repeating array of wooden logs. They also have some pretty sick taster flight holders. The theme definitely seems to settle upon the outdoors and nature. Can't say their beers were all that great, but the most notable, *Breaking Tuns*, was heavy on the cacao nibs, a little sludgy, and the most developed. I think we were charged an extra $2 for this taster though because I guess they went H.A.M. on them cacao nibs when brewing this beer for Churchill's Renaissance Fest. Come for the ambiance -- enjoy BBQ, beerz, and a good time -- but, if you're looking to award your taste buds with any type of sensory experience (as related to the suds), you won't find it here. read more

We drive over an hour (89 miles) to Northern pine about every other month. Their customer service is top notch. The facility is always SO clean. The beer is exceptional.
