Last week, I visited the Tarpon Springs Ace store to buy Citronella candles because love bugs…read moreswamped my front porch daily! Online, the Tarpon store was the nearest location to New Port Richey that had the set of 3 citronella candles in cute little terracotta dishes. Upon arrival, Kim/sales helped me look for the candles, but nothing on the shelf. She even checked her computer and the candles appeared to be in the store, but perhaps another shopper had picked them up. So, I decided to buy a live citronella plant from the garden center. Sally told me it's easy maintenance, water every other week and the plant would be healthy. I was sold! She could tell that I didn't have a green thumb. I had passed right by the citronella plants and then asked her if the store carried them. She gave me the kindest grin. Well, Kim was my checkout person. She really wanted to make things right! Kim offered to call me as soon as the next shipment arrived. What a pleasant surprise! She also recommended that I download the ACE app to receive $10 off of a future purchase. So, I went home and downloaded the app. Guess what! Kim left me a voice message yesterday that the candles had arrived. Today, I drove to Tarpon to pick up my candle set and used my $10 offer towards my purchase! The plant did take care of the bugs on the front porch and now the cutest candles for the back porch. Ace Hardware's customer service is unmatched by any other hardware store! Ace employees have a way of making you feel that your purchase is an important one!

Just want to share how upset I am. Long time customer 10 years plus at this tarpon vision ace…read morehardware store. The hurricanes in tarpon destroyed my families home and also my business, and to make matters worse, my wife an d I were displaced to GA where within a week we were in a bad car accident and I broke my neck and she broke her shoulders amond many other lifelong dibilitating chronic issues. Long story short, during the hurricane I took in my back blower to be fixed and due to the hurricane, that unit was destroyed. Since I was in such a bad accident I was laid up in the hospital and also months afterwards I was bed ridden along with my life. Life turned upside down, fast, and everything gone. We just moved back to tarpon in April, I rekindled my business mentality and decided after a long hiatus I would return to this work. I went into ace today and spoke with the gentlemen who took over Johns position after dear John had passed away during corna virus, and well, he pretty much told me there was nothing I could do. To top it off, he then insinuated that I was a lier and categorized me with another group of "liers" who have come in and "said the same thing as me" Really could have cared less about the blower in reality, even though it should have been at least credited to my account. But after 10 years of purchasing from this store, I could not believe the disrespect. I let the manager know in the front, not to much avail. Still let me walk out totally upset. I made a report with corporate when I originally realized they had my blower after the hurricanes, made a ticket, got a docket number and everything. But I just can not believe the extent I'm having to go in order to get sub standard customer service from a place in which I have revered and spent hard earned dollars with for over 10 years. Totally disrespectful, disrespected, and I cannot just sit and let someone talk badly about my integrity or character. Something needs to be done I have already put a new complaint in with corporate.

Commendation for Excellent Customer Service Dear Home Depot…read moreManagement, We would like to take a moment to recognize Nancy for the exceptional service she provided during our recent visit to your store. We visited in December. From the moment she assisted us, Nancy demonstrated remarkable attention to detail, professionalism, and warmth. She was highly knowledgeable about the products and guided us through the paint selection process with confidence and clarity, making the experience smooth and enjoyable. Nancy is a true ambassador for Home Depot. Her expertise, dedication, and customer-focused approach reflect positively on the company and create a memorable shopping experience. We left the store on a high note thanks to her efforts, and we will definitely be back thanks in part to Nancy. We believe she deserves recognition for the outstanding service she delivered. Sincerely, Jeff and Louise Wilson

The Good- Lots of stock on the shelves and seems to be…read morestaffed well. Pricing on some things is a bit high but relative to current market conditions The Bad- Went to shop for mini blinds. Nothing on the shelf fits but that's ok because these are made to be cut to the width of the windows. There is an apparatus right there to do so. HOWEVER, one sign says "We will cut to size in store while you shop" And then another paper sign that says "We don't cut grab and go mini blinds." Very confusing because I asked the adjacent department with cabinets and appliances if they cut blinds to the window width and he said the folks in blinds and flooring do. When I approached the person sitting at the desk and asked if he can cut some blinds down to my dimensions, he said "we can't cut them". I asked if customers are supposed to use the cutting machine to cut their blinds themselves or was it just for looks. He said, "We just can't cut them." My plan to initially buy 7 sets from HD plus some other items won't happen. Instead I went to Lowe's. I also have 6 additional sets I plan to replace but since HD won't cut to size with the equipment they already have, then my purchases will just be done elsewhere. If it's too much bother and if the customers are interrupting employees and whatever else is going on there in the store and there's no desire to sell goods, maybe I should just stick to the new "Blue" store closer to my house instead. Customer loyalty takes a while to earn but boy can it be lost in the blink of an eye. I realize this is being typed immediately after my visit and some personal passion is evident in what I've said above. I guess I'm a little peeved. My house sustained quite a lot of damage from Hurricane Milton. I've spent a generous amount of money at HD during this rebuild for materials and other supplies; walls, trim, paint, cleaning and storage items, etc. Seemingly simple home items like blinds may not appear to be that important on the surface. I've been living upstairs for more than 7 months. I'm at a point where I can move back into my bedroom on the first floor but need blinds for not only privacy but for blocking light. I still have to replace kitchen cabinets and attached drywall. There's additional renovations I'd like to do upstairs and will need floor covering, paint, blinds, etc. Easily a few grand at minimum. Something as stupid and meaningless as mini blinds and a lack to provide service for something that's been done in the past might be enough to cause my purchasing power to be redirected completely. You can buy a lot of items online from many sources and more often than not, at a better price. Folks like me show up at Home Depot and Lowe's for specific items and sometimes we just walk around and see what else we can buy that we don't need. But the main reason we go to the store to the shop....is the customer service. Without that, might as well find distributors online for all of our home needs. As cranky as this probably comes across, maybe look at a being said. Your BIGGEST asset and sale item is your service. When you only service expensive items and not the average purchased items, then you risk loosing most of your clientele. You can consider this review or ignore it. For the sake of Home Depot, I hope there is some consideration given to their meat and potatoes- "Service" Board associates sitting around chatting and ignoring customers probably isn't going generate the additional sales the corporation wants. Again, give it some thought or just dismiss the above. You have almost 17.1% of the US home improvement market against Lowe's at 15.2%. I'm sure you'll hold onto this lead.....for now. I would ask that you try to do better in the service area.

Tom Terrific here with another honest business review…read more I buy tools at this place and the other HF in Palm Harbor. Life can be made easy or diificult by others when you are severely hearing impaired as I am. I'm always grateful to those who are helpful and understanding. Bless them. At times I can understand a word or three and I fill in the blanks mentally to see if i can get the drift of what they are saying. Certain people's frequencies are also a factor. I hear men more than women. Monday @ 11am. This HF had one a helpful and a rude. One who took me to the tool I needed and the other who was rude. A big thank you to the short woman with dark hair who found what I was looking for. The female cashier's nametag said Sam. I placed my purchase in front of her and she started to speak to me of what I do not know. I explained to her I was hearing impaired and could not read lips. Sam gave me a disgusted look. She kept talking. I said, "May I purchase this product, please?" I believe I heard her say a sentence that ended in "...like to say no." More frowns and disgust. You'd think by her looks and attitude i had just crawled out of a dumpster that was behind a fish market. To the owner or manager, I would keep an eye on Sam. As a man who had four successful businesses when I could hear, i know it only takes one bad employee to sink the ship.
