Northfield gun is the only gun store I frequent on a regular basis. Jim, the owner, is knowledgeable and friendly. He is equally happy discussing obscure WWII firearms as he his explaining things to beginners. . The shop is welcoming and has a huge selection of long guns and a fairly sizable selection of handguns. This gun store is like walking into 1964. Somewhat unorganized but when you start looking at the era of the merchandise, pre-Civil War to the 1960s. Real wood and brown and blued steel. A true collectors haven. Must be seen to be believed. No modern plastic and black finished firearms! Firearms that your father, grandfather and great grandfather owned and loved. WOW, This shop got much, much bigger, it looks like they knocked out some walls, the inventory looks to be about 800 - 1000 guns with most being older, saw some really nice old collectible firearms. This is one of the better old time gun shops around, not many of them left. Jimmy read more

I just bought an M1 Garand from them. They were very friendly, knew a lot about guns and gave me a discount on the ammo for the Garand. They seem to actually care about the quality of the gun they are selling to you. They told me about the history and gave me a CMP certificate and a booklet and everything. They also gave me a discount on a carrying case. The three employees that I interacted with were all interesting and friendly for different reasons. The older gentleman who is usually sitting down is great to talk to about the history of items in their store. The younger man is very friendly and also knowledgeable about what they have and dont have in stock. The owner is knowledgeable on prices and just about anything else you can throw at him. He seemed to care very much about the type of ammo he was going to sell to me, as the Garand is sensitive to that. I will be coming back to buy a Springfield M1903 as soon as it is in stock. read more
