The food is all good, I love to shop here for the chicharron and aguas frescas. Meat seems always fresh. Staff members are pretty nice for the most part. Some do not really seem like they want to help out. I like that they have enough lines open to check out but sometimes only about three so lines can get long depending on the time you go. Lately I have been complaining about green crush which is a juice place in the mall where they have different Mexican refreshments and they over charge. Today me and my husband came to do some grocery shopping. What I like about this place is that you are bombarded with cool food in the beginning and drinks. You can drink your juice while doing your shopping or you can even take it to go! So today we noticed they have the one flavor we always get from green crush! Strawberry milk! We had a taste of it. And it was delicious!!!!!! So a 24 oz is about 2$ and something cents. The 32 oz is 3.99$ And a 72 oz is 6.99$ Which is so worth your buck! I wish I would of taken a picture of it but I couldn't wait to drink it. The juices at green crush are usually about 6$ for a 32 oz and it's full of ice! Right here you won't get that! Today I went to their meat department to purchase a few items, they had what I needed but the stale date was January 30, when I asked one of the employees behind the meat counter if he could check if they had more in the back, he went to the meat department manager to ask him, the meat department manager took the expired item to the back and came back to give it to me and said it was a new one but all he did was re-tag it with a new expiration date. I immediately called him out on it and he said it wasn't. I then lifted the new tag in front of him and the old expired tag was under. When I asked him why he would do something like that, he stated that the item was still good and that's what they did. I looked over the meat counter and he had multiple of the same items re-tagged. I spoked with the store manager and he acted like he didn't know what was going on. He ran to the meat department and started taking pictures of the re-tagged items. This place deserves a visit from the health department or whom ever handles this kind of things. Is that what they normally do with all their expired products??? I think I should call them. I'm sure their camera footage will prove what I'm stating. read more

I went in today at 9:40, and they had everything close and the doors locked. The employees were all stationed around one cashier booth by the exit doors. It was upsetting because there was an old man who walked there and asked if they would please let him in and they didn't. The only reason this place isn't getting five stars is because it's a crappy market. I would not go here to buy groceries. However, their cooked food is good. This is where all the kids and teachers from my school go to pick up lunch. It's also where a lot of locals go to pick up food. They have really good conchas in their rather large pastry section (I like the pink ones better, even though they all sort of taste the same). Also, their chicken plate is real tasty. Their potato wedges are addictive (although I swear they gave me food poisoning once -- I still eat them), their salsas are tasty (and some spicy), and their carnitas are delicious. We went to cashier and she was there when we gave her the receipt to get a discount or free food she proceeds to tell us we can't get this for free/or have a discount because of beers wasted 10 mins standing there while she watches me. Went to grab something for lunch at "lunch time" first of all the food is great you can't take that away HOWEVER the "food check out lines " were closed they had one "express " lane open that was all the way to the fruit section let's not even mention the regular check out lanes. Ok if you are going to have one express lane open why have someone who's as slow as a sloth! What is the point of going to lunch when you spend your lunch in line waiting to pay ?? I have repeatedly let staff know that some of the "fresh" produce is contaminated with plagues that affect crops. I have told management about the issue hoping it would be corrected, but apparently selling plagued produce is far more important since nothing has been done and I continue to see garbage produce for sale. Delicious burritos and tacos. Got carnitas with all different salas. Wish they put it on the side so I can taste the different salsa. Only thing I would add is some hot sauce! I remember this used to be Lucky's way back in the 1990s How I miss it! I HATE THIS MARKET! it is so expensive, some of the employess are mean & miserable! This market don't have much (depending what you're looking for since it's a latino grocery market) parking is always packed it's like everyday is the holidays there, it is INSANE! No one has Manners at all! I remember I used a few times their own version of "coinstar" is a fucking rip off! Ridiculous! I'm glad it is out, their fee is higher than the ACTUAL coinstar. RATEROS! First off, I try to avoid coming to this place as much as possible.. why? because every time I do the lines are incredibly long, children running around and it gets extremely packed. Other than that, it's an okay place to shop, but like the previous reviews have stated, they do have several cashiers open so I guess that's a plus. This place has a bakery, meat market and tortilleria... which is very convenient since you can buy pretty much everything all at once. Like Jason has stated, they do have a variety of produce, and for those who can get a little lazy to cook (guilty of that) they also sale cooked food which in my opinion is pretty good. Northgate has added extra features in recent years, including an expanded section of hot foods to go and a wider selection at the deli. They also sell aguas frescas and have a good selection of pan dulce. They have a nice produce section as well. In recent visits, getting in and out has been easy and there are plenty of checkers open which is a plus. I also like their weekly sales, the beer here is usually less expensive than other markets in the area. read more

The cashier Valerie or Valeria was so distracted talking to her packer, talking about how they don't like it when people touch her face lol. Point is, when she was done scanning everything she didn't tell my mom the total which i thought was kind of rude because as a cashier myself it is important for the customers to know the total and know what they're paying for. The total was like $79.07 & my mom told her "i think i have the 7 cents" & she didn't say anything to her & my mom told her "i don't have the change" & ignored her or didn't pay attention to her. That's when i told her "she doesn't have the change" & she said "huh" & i repeated myself. We never have a problem with the cashiers here but she was just not giving us a good experience, just because she was having a bad day or whatever is going through her head, she should not be taking it out on others.
