This has been my family's favorite restaurant since we first came 10 years ago. The food is amazinggggg I always get the enchiladas verdes gratinadas or the enfrijoladas. I hadn't been back to this restaurant in some time but my grandpa was craving mole, so we made it back. After a 15 min wait we finally got seated and we order our dishes. The sopa reina azteca is so tasty, with the crunchy chips and cheese. The enchiladas both green and Mole verde were amazing. I'm conflicted when it comes to rating this place. The food so far has been exquisite every time. Breakfast lunch and dinner and the banana desert all delectable. What keeps me from frequenting more and rating is their service. I expect to feel welcome at the least and not a burden. It's a full circle deal for me or nothing. The servers so far have been inattentive, stone cold facial expressions where it makes me feel like I'm imposing. stopped by Mole Del Rey after seeing it on TikTok and decided to give it a try, even though it's not in my usual area. I ordered the chilaquiles with potatoes, over-easy eggs, and a small portion of beans. We also got the mole with two over-easy eggs, beans, and potatoes. Unfortunately, both the eggs and potatoes are pulled from a warmer, so the beans came out cold and the potatoes were only slightly warm, still leaning toward cold. The chilaquiles were decent, with a sauce that had a nice flavor but could've used more spice for a real kick. The mole was definitely the highlight of the meal, rich, flavorful, and well-balanced. Portion sizes are on the smaller side, though. On the plus side, the restaurant is small, the service is great, and they're quick to get you in and out. Overall, it was a decent experience, but not something I'd go out of my way to drive for again. read more

This place is so underrated. From the outside it looks a little meh but inside its super cutesy. A little small for my liking but when you have their food and their service. The tightness is something I can overlook ever single time. Their food is delicious! The cafe de olla is amazing. Their sopa azteca is a must. The tamales de dulce with their cafe is heaven. Ordered the queso fundido with chorizo it came with about 3 tortillas those were hand made I think but they were soft and fresh. My husband ordered the wet burrito de asada with green sauce, it had more veggies than meat and it was just ok and the sauce wasn't all that. My order was the Enfrijoladas Oaxaqueñas which basically was two tortillas filled with cheese covered in bean sauce and a piece of meat, bean sauce was bland it was like watered down canned beans, nothing special honestly, the best thing about this experience was the Agua de Mango con Piña. Only reason I'm giving two stars is because of the presentation of the food and because it has parking. Unfortunately we did not enjoy our meal. The rice was hard ,not sure if it was raw or stale. Food I always start with a sopa Azteca - which is a mildly spicy black bean soup with tortilla chips. To accompany that I also get a chapulin taco aka crickets . Spicy and delicious a must have . Oaxaca style of course Main course I usually get sea food enchiladas covered with a spicy green sauce stuffed with fresh fish and shrimp paired with beans and rice . I had the opportunity to try the enmoladas wich are two enchiladas with your choice of mole, they have from mild to extra spicy. I had the hot mole and it was delicious. The mole poblano was excellent! However, I believe the chicken was grilled. It was dry. Mole poblano usually is accompanied with boiled chicken. The white rice and beans were good. I loved the horchata. It's was served in a glass with the rim coated with cocoa and pumpkins seeds inside the drink. It was yummy! The server was attentive. The restaurant is clean. I returned on a different day. I tried the mixiote de borrego, it was so good! And of course I had another horchata, yum! I'll be returning to try other things. read more

If I could rate the Enchiladas Poblanos only they'd get a 4....easy 5 if they were bigger.. Buuuuuut.....they were so small and hardly much chicken in them. 1 was a lot bigger than the other. The smaller one was as small as a frozen taquito. The Mole was slammin though. Super delicious. The beans were cold (which is the worst when it comes to Mexican Food) and the serving portion was soooo small. It honestly looked like they were spread on the plate with a butter knife. I wish I took a pic but I was hungry. And the rice had absolutely no flavor. I love supporting Mom and Pop places over any chain restaurants. But for a $14 plate...it didn't put a dent in my gut. I had to stop on the way back to work and picked up a Whopper from Burger King to fill me up. I'd sure hate to see the size of their Child Plate here. I love my chilaquiles with a crunch. The chilaquiles here are delicious with just the right amount of salsa to leave a bit of a crunch. I asked for a side of their mole poblano (they have so many to choose from) so that I can pour over my over easy eggs and get my mole fix. Will need to return to try an all mole dish.
