Bashan at the front desk was very kind when we checked in Tuesday evening. We were pleased with his…read morecustomer service and he gave us a couple of water bottles for free which was awesome! He was the highlight of the place for sure. Now, the morning staff? I am not sure if it's just a policy of this property, but my grandma and I requested a late checkout as we have to wait until 4pm to get into our AirBnB with the rest of the family. We were told the latest we could check out is noon, which to my understanding is just normal check out time. Not a huge deal, but a bit of an inconvenience. It was to be a blessing in disguise, however! The room was absolutely unbearable. There was an extremely strong scented SOMETHING sprayed on all of the bedding and coming from the air conditioner. We had to sleep with the window open and keep the door propped during the daylight hours to even be able to stay in the room. I had no issues with allergies or anything like that upon coming to Denver, but in this room I was literally choking on whatever scented stuff they use. I couldn't hardly breathe, continuously coughing and sneezing, and my nose got super stuffy. Thank GOD we couldn't stay in the room for longer, or else I probably would've choked to death on that stuff. I can literally still taste it and we are sitting in the lobby waiting for our family to arrive. The fitness center is very underwhelming, it is more like a treadmill room. Two treadmills and an elliptical with dumbbells going to only 20lbs. Clearly not meant for any real exercise, cardio only, which is not a huge surprise for a hotel gym but I was still disappointed. I only gave a second star because of the front desk clerk Bashan. There was one woman with glasses and dark hair- inattentive at best, even slightly standoffish. It was like they were blaming us for being picky or something- and I NEVER complain. I am always very kind and understanding, having worked front desk in hotels myself for several years, but this experience was absolutely terrible. The worst stay I have ever had in a Marriott property- and I used to work exclusively at Marriott properties. The worst part was undoubtedly the absolutely unbearable scented whatever in the room. It was literally making my grandma and I cough and choke and sneeze the whole night through, only marginally improved by opening the window and door. I cannot recommend this property to anyone else; breakfast was okay but the eggs and bacon were the only hot foods served. The rest was instant food, things I could make myself in a microwave. The eggs and bacon were both very watery also, I didn't even eat the bacon as it looked like it had come from a microwave. Soggy and soft, disappointing experience. Thank you again to Bashan, but I really hope the rest of these issues get addressed so that this property can take good care of its guests in future.

Check in - was a breeze via the app. The room was clean and pretty spacious. Had a two bed room with a tub. There was a microwave and fridge hidden in a cabinet. The desk is relatively small for if you need to do work. Appreciated that there was housekeeping everyday, didn't expect it! My AC unit was making rumbling noises so I had to keep it off during the duration of the stay in early Spring. It would have been a bit annoying if it were warmer and I would have mentioned something to the hotel. Also the bottom strip of the door was missing so you could see light pouring into the room at night. Other than that, would stay here again!

I especially love that you can often check-in via the app and then use your phone as a key, which really speaks to my Millennial soul not wanting to actually interact with anyone. We chose this spot and booked it about 24 hours before our stay as it was the most convenient and affordable as we were passing through the Denver area on our way home to KC from Yellowstone. After spending a week at an air bnb and staying in some other hotels along the way, this spot stood out as our best night's sleep the entire trip. The hotel also boasted a pool for our kiddo, and ultimately was just a really comfortable stop for us. If we are ever passing through again I know we would consider staying here again.

Check-in was pretty straightforward. They gave us a pass to put on our dash to park in their lot. There is a bar, a 24-hour tiny shop, and coffee/tea/water right when you walk in. There is a small exercise room with some cardio machines and dumbbells, as well as an outdoor pool and hot tub. The decor is new and cute, but the rooms are quite small. It worked just fine for my spouse and me, but I cannot imagine it would be great for a family. There is a little bench, a Keurig, microwave, a mini fridge, and a large TV you can use your own Netflix account with. The bed was comfy and we were able to adjust the room temperature to our liking. Something a bit odd was that there is NO separate door to the bathroom. There is a little sliding door to give privacy while using the toilet, but that's it. Once again, fine for my spouse and me, but I can imagine that would not be great for families. In the shower, there's pumps for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash which is nice. I had to request a hair dryer because they don't put them in all of the rooms, and after waiting a day, I had to go back to the front desk and ask again. Overall, this is a good place to stay for the money. Good area, decent price, clean room.

The coffee maker in my room didn't work. Even after reading and following the directions. No complimentary coffee in the lobby. Mini fridge was dirty. Kleenex box was empty; TV remote wasn't working. All clocks had the wrong time on them and they couldn't be adjusted. Theres not a lot of carpet at this place but what they do have every bit of it was dirty. In the rooms, and all common areas. Shower: The "rain" style shower head was mounted fairly high and worked well. The manufacturer of the "Nourish" brand shampoo trumpets high-end, luxury products, but goes to great lengths to hide the ingredients; it turns out that the shampoo contains SLS, which many people find drying and rash-inducing. Security: Like most hotels, Drury Plaza is situated in a "transitional space" which invites ne'er-do-wells. The outside is ringed with good lighting and cameras. Inside, the staff is very alert. While I was at the buffet, a non-guest wandered in; it took less than 30 seconds for a manager to redirect the interloper to the door, and numerous staff members materialized and cheerfully greeted everyone in the area (presumably to make sure that everyone belonged). Food: The "Evening Kick-Back" is a full meal. They rotate between three buffet-style menus, but there are enough extras to mix-and-match a wide variety of meals. At the height of a flu outbreak, I saw a lady cough into her hand then handle half a dozen serving utensils...everyone following her picked up a nice dose of virus. First off, we attempted to check in around 3:30 and our room wasn't even ready. We were stuck waiting about 40 minutes in the lobby for our room. Secondly, the cleanliness was below average. Lastly, the service at breakfast and the 5:30 kickback was absolutely atrocious. Most of the trays of food were EMPTY. Even at the beginning of the food service. I spent over 30 minutes waiting for the milk to be refilled during breakfast. And items were cold during kickback. Most of our time in the dining area was spent waiting for refills of food. This is was so disappointing and a huge waste of time and money. I will say this Drury Inn is conveniently located near some nice shopping and food. And our room was beautifully spacious. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be returning to this location.

They promise hotel quality linens that are laundered off site, re-staging the property according to airbnb photos, and top notch service. I have complained to the manager on numerous occasions and nothing changes. There is zero quality control and I would expect that they never inspect their employees cleaning service...and if they are inspecting, that is worse. A few examples of times that I have personally checked the home: trash left in can, trash left outside the back door, coffee grounds on the kitchen floor, nothing has EVER been staged back to photos upon my inspection, dining chair left outside in the rain, soiled linens, I have never seen them put out our mini toiletries for guests as promised, filthy tub with soap scum and hair, back door unlocked, cleaners still in the home when guests arrived at 4pm, rugs not vacuumed, and I could go on and on. From the ceremony site options, to the bridal suite, to the dining area and the dance floor, we enjoyed all of the spaces this place has to offer. Our 108 guests loved the food, the drinks, and the views so much, they couldn't stop commenting all night on how beautiful and awesome this venue was. And our photos turned out incredible with the mountains, the river, the trees, and the outdoor lights. Dawn is responsive and helpful and she knows what she's doing! My one area of constructive criticism would be recommending that the venue provide a clearer timeline to the couples getting married.
