A beautiful spacious apartment, with three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. It easily slept the six of us and we did not feel the least bit over crowded. As there was a group of us the price really was pretty reasonable for the weekend. While family friendly, it could be a bit pricey. The kitchen comes with everything you need from dinner ware to dish soap. There is a large grill on the private porch besides the stove top and oven. Two fireplaces (one is gas and the other you have to light for which they provide all needed materials). There are two flat screen TVs in the main rooms, another in the master bedroom and a small one in the bunk room. The shower in the master bath is huge and there is also a separate large tub. The best part is the large porch that overlooks the beach and Lake Michigan. It wraps around the side around to the back. the view of the lake and Sleeping Bear Dunes is beautiful. The resort also has a gym, outdoor pool and hot tub. Blu, a restaurant I highly recommend, is attached. There is also free wifi (they provide a password). The staff was also amazing, expect to be treated like an honored guest. They take care if anything you might need, even marsh mellows. The only slightly negative thing is that Lebear is a bit off on its own in Glen Arbor. The wineries are about a half hour away which was reasonable. Glen Arbor is small but charming. There are several shops, a couple bars (try Art's Tavern) and a grocery store. The resort is a very short walk from the town.

There are all sorts of tiny details that make Lebear a special place, such as cucumber-ice water by the pool, cookies in the kitchen, and free and easy kayak use on site. The location is excellent. We have stayed at the Homestead in years past, but the Lebear location really sets it apart as it is a quick walk to the grocery stores, restaurants and shops in Glen Arbor. My only complaint is a minor one, and it's just that the bedroom situation is a little funky. In all three of the units I saw, the master bedroom was perfect, but the two smaller guest rooms left much to be desired. One of the bedrooms has a nice queen bed and bunk beds and the other has a double or queen-sized trundle bed. I would think to put the trundle bed in the room with the bunk beds (making it more of a "kids" room) and leave the nice queen-sized bed in its own room. Also, the hallway lighting outside of the two smaller guest rooms was extremely bright at night and made it very difficult to sleep.

When you rent the townhome you have the option on buying breakfast and we did that most days. Let me say the breakfasts were spectacular they were stunning like something you would see in a magazine. The Inn Keeper was Laura and she is amazing. Incredible meals and truly cares about the guests. This experience is a 10/10 and 5 stars doesn't do it justice. I don't have enough good things to say.

Coffee starts at 7:30, and breakfast is 8:30 -- 10:00. Our room also worked well --- we got a suite on the ground floor, and enjoyed having a small living room to stretch out in. I also got a quick tour of some of the other rooms --- some are mostly about the bed. Most of the rooms (including the suite) have their own bathrooms; a few of the smaller rooms share bathrooms, which usually works well for us but wasn't what we needed this trip. Innkeeper Katie (and her assistant/husband Jeff) are retiring and training their successor. Katie was quite friendly and helpful; I'll be sorry to see her go. For nights when we're not camping, Glen Arbor B&B will probably be our pick in the area.

I explained that we are flying from Arizona to Michigan for this vacation so we have airfare, time off work, time off school etc for 7 people. A few days later I received a very generic email stating the property we booked was no longer available. They suggested another property (same town but very different walkability, different bathroom count, different setup). Had I cancelled this late in the game I would have been responsible for 50% payment (mind you I had already paid in full). There was zero concession offered, zero apology, zero kindness. To add insult to the situation, I still receive automated texts regarding my upcoming arrival. So I had to scramble to find another place (with less than 30 days) and pay that in full while awaiting a refund on my first booking. Epic failure in customer service.

Then, after speaking to the owner she had me take a picture of the figurine as proof and then, when the women still stuck to their story she basically called me the liar. SO, since this was a cheap little figurine - although valuable to me - I can only imagine what would happen if they broke something of real value. I wasn't even mad about the figurine - accidents happen, but was SO disappointed how this was handled. She was so great and we all wanted to be her friend lol. The bride said it was super easy to coordinate and she was very helpful in the process. I liked that she gave us 15 minute warnings before it was time to go, and kept things moving. We were at each place for the perfect amount of time for things to not be dragging, but not feel rushed. I also thought she was incredibly good at being engaged with the group but not imposing - again, we all loved her and she could have totally just hung out with us, but she perfectly executed having a presence but like, maintaining the driver/customer dynamic. You can bring whatever alcohol you want on the bus too, which is apparently not the case for all of the bus tours? The bride wanted to have white claws, and I guess some buses only allowed beer/wine. I would highly, highly recommend this tour group!
