Okay, let me start by saying I am sad to have to write such a poor review! But I will tell your some Pros & Cons The first day was amazing receiving photos and videos of all daily activities but that stopped after the first day now we get a picture or video 2 times a day or once. My son's blanket has gone "missing" and at one point so did his backpack but after a week's search, I guess the parent returned it after that the facility gave our belongings to return after the facility emailed all parents. Multiple times my son came home with other kids' masks. ( not cool very uncomfortable due to covid) Not only that every Friday they have water play my son is African American so I pack lotion for the staff to apply after cause water + brown skin - not moisture = ashy not once since I packed it as my son been picked up not ashy. I am a big person on sending my child to daycare and do not disturb me unless it's an emergency, I was informed by the director that she is knowledgeable about my son's disability and has been called two times during my work week to answer questions. ( not a big deal but that's one of the reasons we pulled our son out of his last facility) We were confronted about parking in handicapped ( we have a handicapped pass) and in front of the building ( understandable) but the issue seems like we were the only parents confronted by this issue and other parents have not. The staff individually are amazing, especially Isabell amazing nice, and always so friendly. From what my son talks about Mr.Cesar & Ms.Dee is amazing. Ms.Paige is nice but could use a little bit of work with correct communication especially will it comes to overdue balances, let me explain so I paid two weeks in advance and completely forgot to pay for one week assuming I paid I saw her twice before Thursday and no verbal communication about overdue balance or email notice sent out before late fee was added to our balance. I was highly upset and we feel like since there was no formal reminder email or verbal communication we shouldn't be responsible but of course, I paid it. But other than that Ms.Paige is amazing Price let get into the price so it's $295 for a full week (M-F) now when we originally did our tour and ect we spoke to Ms.Paige about only doing three days but since the price wasn't that bad we continue for a full week. Now the price wouldn't be a big issue if they didn't hit us two weeks or a week to pay an additional $75 for summer materials....wondering what our $295 is covering if I still have to pay extra fees for a summer camp shirt and water bottle. read more

Our boys have been at Kindercare since June of 2020 and love it there! Ms. Paige and the rest of her team have done a great job of keeping the kids active and learning in a year of change. Their COVID protocols are excellent. We have one of our sons in their phonics program and he has blossomed as a result! She wakes up every morning excited to go in and everyday when I pick her up she talks about how much fun she had and how nice her teachers Ms.Andrea & Ms.Daniela are. KinderCare is such a great place, not only because it is 1 mile from our house, but because it is truly a positive and warm environment for children. My daughter started almost a year ago so felt it's been enough time worthy of a review. I cannot stress how much everyone has been SO amazing and caring and genuinely immersed in the advancement of my daughter's growth. Obviously everything can't be perfect. Some of the faculty can seem a little intense at times and I do agree with the high turn around of staff recently, but everyones main goal at the end of the day is to make sure each child and parent is happy, engaged and attended to equally. I could go on about how strong they have been with potty training or the ABCs or phonics, but Ms. Delilah, Ms. Kate and Mr. John have gone beyond being awesome with my daughter in those plus a million other ways, and have become such a huge part of her life. She has since moved to Preschool but still runs up to her Discovery Preschool dream team for a hug every morning and afternoon. Ms. Lisa and Ms. Jackie, the directors, also get all the hugs. To the super negative review - I will say that I have never seen a child eating their boogers, but don't kids do that anyway behind our backs? My daughter was literally potty trained by Ms. Delilah and Ms. Kate, not sure how they would ever deny a potty break. And there has been several phone calls to please come get my daughter because she had a fever, so they're extremely on top of that. Kids get sunburned, send yours to school with sunscreen. Also, it's clean. Period. There is an app for you to get pictures, meal updates, activity updates, videos, lots of daily happenings that is really cool to be able to check in and see what's going on. I can basically stalk my child (after signing the waiver for them to take her photo or whatever to send). All in all, I would recommend without hesitation. The best preschool in the valley! My 2 year old and 6 year old both went here, both absolutely loved the school and all the teachers! They made my 2 year olds first time at school a breeze. Don't have a single complaint, we moved out of the valley so we had to leave otherwise I would have loved my boys to stay! School was very organized, both kids got great attention in education, in activities etc Summer time activities were so well organized and the app was updated regularly so it was so easy to stay up to date on the daily photos. We love this place and the staff. Our daughter Aibi has been attending for almost two years now and we are in amazement how she has developed socially and academically. We are thankful for Mrs Paige, Mrs Isabel, Ms Andrea & Ms Delilah. They have helped us with potty training which is always a mission for us parents. They listened to our concern in getting a phonics teacher and they did just that. Me Kristin has been a great asset to the center. Her calm (maybe too quiet) demeanor helps our daughter concentrate in her class. Our daughters vocabulary has expanded tremendously. In regards to Covid, they have been informative as best as they can and have (still) take measures seriously. Only two suggestions: 1. Change the door keypad (less exposure to COVID) 2. Our daughter is an only child and we were so excited to get her started in a preschool. We couldn't of picked a better place, her teachers Ms. Johanna, Ms. Yvette and Ms. Dalilah are so sweet and great with the kids. I really like the separation of the age groups they have their classes arranged by. The school is so clean and well organized. She has only been there for 2.5 months and we see so much progress already, she even traces her name now. Our daughter was very stubborn with wanting to potty train but after two weeks of being there she was no longer in pull-ups. The teachers are so great with how they talk to the kids, dealing with transition of new enrolled kids, disagreements with other kids, and encouraging sharing of toys. They always addressed any concerns we had (being the worried parents we are) with so much comfort. The staff is just incredible. read more

I can't say enough amazing things about this center. My son loved coming every morning and enjoyed his classmates and teachers. His favorite part of Kindercare was doing Phonics with Mr. Cesar who was so patient with him, tailored his teaching and methods for my son, and taught him so much. The teachers are genuinely invested in the kids' growth and development and it didn't go unnoticed. The front desk, Ms. Isabel, was always so supportive and attentive to any questions or concerns and was extremely responsive. My son started at 18 months and we saw him blossom once he started at the center. Highly recommend the school and truly appreciate all the staff did for my son. read more

I took my son out after 2 weeks. We had the worst experience with the director Paige and my son was miserable. He also got the worst respiratory infection due to the lack of sending kids home that showed obvious symptoms. He would look at one of the teachers with the worst face that I had never seen before . It truly worried me about what would go on during the day. The first day there was no one there to greet us so we waited outside until another parent showed up to drop off their child. When I walked in there was a child laying on the floor crying and no one was found.I literally kept yelling " HELLO" until someone showed up. They also didn't kept track of the app and would enter false information. On the app it would say that my son ate all the food and when I showed up the teacher would tell me that he hadn't ate all day which was heartbreaking. The director would also go into her office and close the door just to avoid me asking questions. I am studying to become a teacher so she didn't like that I questioned her. I can't speak for all the Kindercare centers but definitely don't enroll your child in the Northridge Center. I am so happy to have found a different amazing school to enroll my son in. There is so much to say but I'll leave it at that ! read more

This review is a little overdue but I cannot say this enough: do NOT send your child here! Teachers are always on their phones and don't pay attention to the kids. A little while ago my child told me that one of the teachers, Deedee, is always on her phone in the morning and doesn't speak to any of the kids until they all start getting "too loud." The only time she'll talk to them is to yell at them to be quiet or else they'll get in trouble. I was absolutely disgusted to hear that. School also looks dirty and run down. Don't waste your money here, seems like they employ neglectful people who either don't care about their job or don't know what they're doing. Or both! They just want an easy paycheck. read more

My son attended this location from 18 months to 3 years old and only left because we wanted to go to a preschool with different language support. We LOVED our time at this location and were sad to leave. Special shout out to Ms Kate, Ms Delilah, Ms Andrea and Ms Allison who took care of my son as if he was their own. My son was 1 1/2 when he started coming to this school. I was happy with the school program and how they always kept me updated throughout his day on the app. As he started preschool there was some things that I disagreed or didn't like but I made sure to address my issues to the director. First of all this is an awesome school with hands on staff and teachers. My son started attending there a bit over a year ago, and recently graduated and went into KG. When he started he did so because he was treated kind of awfully at Dearborn Elementry and I was seriously in tears that the TK teacher gave up on him; after a few weeks she explained to me that she didn't have time to teach my son how to sit still...UH hes 4 yrs old and a bit hyper; I cried the whole 3 weeks he went there. I looked around and found Kindercare North Hills, and I spoke with the director at the time and she assured me they had the staff to help my son out; and they did. From the First day of school he fell in love with his teachers and although they did a lot routing around it actually helped my son adjust to different styles of teaching. We especially love swim and all the other extra activities they provide, Learning Adventures with Mr. John helped my son actually learn he would come home and tell me about his adventures with Mr. John. Mr John is patient with the children; My son also had Ms Gisselle as his teacher she is very fun and makes learning exciting. Ms Shoniese was very awesome she would fill in from time to time and she did STEM there too; shes fun and makes kids laugh a lot. The director Jackie M & Lisa in the front office are very involved with the children they would take ( way too time out of their day ) to help me with my son. They offered suggestions at home ( that worked ) and we absoulutely worked together... I highly recommend this school!!! You wont be sorry read more

My daughter started attending this school this fall. And all I can say is that Ms. Kate, Ms. Liana, Mr. John (very popular with the kiddos) are amazing and very patient with the children. Ms. Dalila is truly an angel in disguise. This woman goes above and beyond and works very hard for these kids. You can definitely tell that these teachers really care about the kids and my daughter has learned so much since she started Kinder care. I was told that she could be autistic (due to her speech delay among other things) Ms. Dalila told me the first day of school not to worry about that because she does not see that in her. Just to give her some time to adjust with her peers and socialize with them and sure enough my daughter has learned so much. She talks non stop now lol. She was potty trained her first week of school. I was very amazed. I would highly recommend this school. read more

I'm very grateful for this place. My son started at the location on Rinaldi when he was 2. He went there for a full year and left at 3. He started back again at 3 and a half here at the Lassen location and hit the ground running. Mrs. Jackie, Mrs. Lisa, Mrs. Delilah, Mr. John, Miss Giselle, and several others have been nothing short but wonderful in the care of my son. He and my other little guy are the most important blessings in my life, and there is nowhere else I'd rather have them than somewhere where I know that they are safe Most importantly, developing socially, physically, and emotionally. Not to mention the fact that he has taken swimming classes with the lovely Miss Giselle. He has learned his phonics lessons and improved significantly with Mr John. The director Mrs. Jackie has always been concerned with my son's well being since he has started there. Mrs. Delilah is like a second mother to my son. Mrs. Lisa, my favorite person, I love her so much, she is awesome, amazing, I hope she is always there as long as my son is. I can't wait for my little guy who is 15 months to join the ranks when he is 18 months. I hope I can afford it. Lol. read more

I wrote my last review almost a year ago and wanted to update my review. A lot has happened and there were quite a lot of changes at this school. My son still attends Kindercare Northridge and he has moved from Pre-School to Pre-K - he moved a little early but a large group of his friends moved over who he started Discovery Preschool with. Pre-School (2.5 to 4 yrs old) was great for him - the teachers Ms Yvette & Ms Johanna were awesome and the transition was great but unfortunately those teachers are no longer at the school. Ms Yvette was my son's favorite teacher and he is so sad that she left. He transitioned over to Pre-K (4-5yrs old) a couple of months ago and had such a hard time with the transition, it was like starting school all over for him. The teachers tried as best they could to help him but it was tough - fast forward to current day - he's fine, he's happy and playing with his friends again. During this time, my younger daughter (2yrs) started Discovery Pre-School with Ms Kate & Ms Delila the same teachers that my son had in Discovery. They are both wonderful caring teachers, Ms Kate I believe has been there for 13 years or something close to that. My daughter is blessed to have Ms Kate as her teacher, she gives personal attention, braids her hair, in the process of potty training her - she's awesome! Oh I forgot to mention - she had no problems starting school, she cried for a couple of days at drop off and BAM it was over and she loves school! Polar opposite of my son. My daughter is scheduled to move over to Pre-School at the end of the month but I'm debating to hold her in Discovery only because they don't have a new replacement teacher in Pre-School yet and I'm not sure if she's quite ready and both Ms Yvette & Ms Johanna are gone (both these teachers were my son's Pre-School teachers). Both my kids are enrolled in Phonics learning adventures with Mr John (awesome, caring, unbelievable teacher) and I can see improvements in their speech, identifying letter and reading. They are also in swimming lessons with Ms Giselle who is a sweet and caring instructor, both my kids adore her. My reason for a 3 star review is because management has changed and the teacher turn over is extremely high. There is a new center director and assistant director, they only have a few original teachers from 2 years ago Ms Kate, Ms Delila (who is on leave) & Mr John - all the other teachers are gone or on leave. I'm not sure what happened to the old assistant director Ms Alina who I really liked or our old swim teacher Ms Nikki, we were told that they were on leave but it's been awhile. So many of the teachers have left and there are many new teachers that I don't really know yet and also subs, I like stability and I feel it's important that my kids know their teachers and their teachers know them. The teacher turnover is high which gives me reason to believe that there could be other reasons. I am starting my search for a new pre-school but a good pre-school is hard to find and each one has it's own faults. I like this school but there has been so many changes that I feel it's only fair to update my review and give other parents who are looking into the school a current update. If you've actually read this looooooog review I hope it helps parents make an informed decision as I know how important it is when choosing a pre-school for our precious children. read more

I looked around for closer school(takes me a while to get here), went to a lot of five stars and NONE were even close to this little gem I found. Staff is not loving or caring. Took my son to this school for a couple days then took him out right away after spending half a day at the daycare. My child would cry very time we took him. Children were eating their boogers because no one wiped their nose. Saw a sick child with a fever they told me he had no fever just sun burned cheeks. A little girl wanted to go to the restroom and they wouldn't let her because she was suppose to go earlier. I never told the staff i was a nurse and did not receive a call after i took out my son or was asked any questions. Did get a call to collect payment though. I love this school. My son has been attending Northridge KinderCare for almost 2 years now. I love the staff. They take such good care of my little guy. They even helped with potty training when he first started. It was rough at first, but the Miss Delilah and Miss Elizabeth encouraged me to stick with a routine and to not linger after dropping him off. I knew they weren't giving me lip service about his behavior because they would tell me he cried and for how long, if he didn't cry, and if they were able to distract him. After four weeks of attending 3 days per week, he was done with the crying. Most days he would run to the door of the school and not look at me when he said bye. He is now in Pre-K and Miss Keilly and Miss Shonnice are fantastic teachers. He comes home ready to tell us what he did that day. I love that this location has a small swimming pool and offers swim lessons in the summer. Miss Nikki is a great swim teacher. My son is becoming such a little fish. This year they opened up swim lessons and now my 1 year old is taking them and it is such a stress reliever to know he is learning proper water safety and learning how to swim. Miss Deborah and Miss Alina run a great center. They are on top of everything, making sure the kids are properly supervised, taking on watching the kids themselves to make sure all the kids are tended to. They are easy to talk to and answer your questions quickly. I can't say enough good things about this school. I hope to keep my older one here through kindergarten since they offer the class and enroll my 1 year old in the near future. read more

This is an excellent facility and a very safe place to leave your child where he/she will receive excellent care, education and socialization. As far as the comment from the nurse about the child with sunburn and fever, that's called the inflammatory response. Yes, fevers may accompany sunburns. It's the body's way of dealing with trauma. As a nurse, I feel it was irresponsible of you to post misleading information. I highly doubt the staff at Kindercare are eager to care for sick kids and as most people pay the weekly rate, you don't get any break for missing a day or 2. As for the kid picking his nose, you can really only pick solid items, liquids are wiped away. I don't think it's the staff's responsibility to pick our children's noses. I like that in addition to great activities, educational toys and a stimulating environment, they have additional "a la carte" classes & activities that rival those offered at the 18k+ preschools at a much more affordable rate. I highly recommend this Kindercare and center direction Deborah is intelligent, organized and very experienced. read more

I have been using this preschool/ daycare for 5 years. First, my elementary aged daughter attended since she was 1.5 through preschool years. She was beyond prepared for Kindergarten, thanks to this academically enriching environment that is play-based. Now, my toddler son goes there. The teachers are so friendly, attentive and fun! The center director is ALWAYS helpful, she really goes above and beyond!!!!!!!! I love the size of the play areas, and how each classroom has it's own HUGE outdoor play space with age appropriate climbing structures, tricycles, sand boxes, etc. There is also lots of shade/ trees outside which is good. There is a pool on site so in the Spring and Summer they give 1-1 swim lessons with a lifeguard! I HIGHLY recommend this preschool. We love it! read more

I am not big into writing reviews but I feel like there are other parents out there who may need help with finding the right child care. My daughter and I have been part of the Kindercare family for a few years now. At first I was really nervous about sending her to school/child care. Grandma had been a huge help caring for her while I had to work. Then I realized that yes we loved and cared for her all we could at home but it was equally important that she get to socialize which little ones who own age and learn to share and patience skills that she would need in her upcoming school years. She is now school age and doing great. Kindercare still assists with drop-off, pick up and afterschool care due to my work schedule. As a single mom or any parent it is a wonderful feeling knowing that your child is in safe, reliable, capable, and loving hands. So if you are looking for help with your little ones I couldn't recommend them more. They have always been amazing to us. read more
