Way over priced and estimates inflated. Quoted doing the job right and insurance companies don't pay enough. Wanted extra $$$ per hour out of pocket. Went to Caliber and they did a great job at insurance company rate. I have a car worth over 100k that got keyed. We had our 2023 Hyundai Palisade repaired after a head-on collision. The car was in rough shape. Mark and Javier made sure it was repaired correctly, and yes they will go to bat for you and make sure the Insurance company pays to repair it to Factory standards. The multi-location shops that work for the insurance companies will put Aftermarket and Used Parts on your brand-new vehicle, Northside will put OEM, and not let them get away with shortcuts. Northside makes sure that all the extra stuff that needs to be done, such as Error scanning and calibrations is done according to the manufacturer. Worst shop ever, don't go near this place unless you want to get ripped off. My car was towed here due to a flat tire. I was stranded on 281 North under the Henderson pass bridge, if you know this area, there is no shoulder, police would not allow me to wait for the roadside assistance provide under my insurance plan. Was advised by the tow truck driver to go to this place and fees would be covered by insurance. I show up the next day and was told the bill is $686.60, the car had a flat tire there is no other damage, they did absolutely nothing to the car. Was then advised I could not put the tire on at their facility, I offered to pay an employee to put on the tire, they wouldn't do this. Stated they don't have a claim number. Was then told, if the car came on a wrecker, would need to leave on one. The bill consisted of the following charges: City Towing $211.60, City Admin Fee $350, City Outdoor Storage Fee $50, and Gate Fee $75 total amount $686.80, plus a tow fee to get the vehicle moved off the lot to change the tire. Bryan Mullett and Javier Gutierrez knocked off $100 after a discussion, which was appreciated but did little on the overall feeling of getting reamed. Javier showed me a price listing of the fees inside the shop, as to show they are standard, I stated the sign needs to be on the outside, if I had seen them last night wouldn't have left the car, he stated would have been charged two tows, I said that would still be cheaper than this bill. I waited to write this review until researching the so-called City fees that I was told are standard, they are not and vary by body shops. The city has no control or benefit from the fees, they are charged by the shop to offset the cost of accepting vehicles that are never paid for. The shop could have easily reduced the bill, to a reasonable amount, all the did was store the car for 14 hours, the tow driver opened the gate which had a pad lock, they could have easily assisted with putting on the tire and saved me another $85. Total bill with discount $671.60, and still need to buy two tires, and a spare rim for a back-up. Insurance only covered the first tow, was my total out-of-pocket was $545. I have numerous vehicles and wanted to talk about PDR they offer before I saw the bill, instead of having a new customer they created displeased interaction with a potential customer. Well let's see....seems like after issuing my son a refund after I called the city and you violated your maximum charges to the boy you were threatened with losing your contracts with the city. So you hand delivered a refund check to him, after being rude to me over the phone (I'm the dad). You people take advantage, mislead, and overcharge people. Shame on you all and I sincerely hope more people jump through the hoops as I did to report you to the city for violating your contracts and trying to rip people off. You idiots told me three different stories as to why is car was taken out back and what policies were, none of which were correct or true. RUN!! Biggest Scam artist I've ever seen! $675 after a coerced city tow!!! Do Not let the police tell you that you have to use the city tow if you get broken down. Use your own! Ripped off a young married college couple tricking them to get a city tow when our roadside tow service was in route. Now we realize the city has contracts with their rip off misleading tow company and a contract with this Scammer. They all get money off the hardship of people breaking down. When officers should be accommodating, helping to serve and protect they mislead and RIP good people off! The car was not abandoned as the lying Bryan Mullet said. Our son and daughter in law were with the car out of the way on the shoulder. Our son told "City" tow trucker to take him to the Ford house where we have our warranty for repairs. Instead the tow truck dropped the car off to this scammer next door to the Ford house because they are all in it together to trick and rip goid people off!! They charged $675 to release car so it then could be taken next door to the Ford house they were suppose to take the car anyway for a belt that only cost $109. You see this place can make more money locking up your car than being legit and honest. Shame on you City of San Antonio and your "City tow service" and you horrible scammers at Northside Collision! Before I knew it, they had returned it to the front and asked me to come take a look. The damage had been taken care of and looked great! I asked how much I owed and was told, "Nothing." The guys at Northside Collision took care of me a lot and I am really grateful to them. A little over a year ago, I got into an extensive car accident and my insurance company was pressuring me to go to a discount body shop and since my car was a lease I was really worried about being charged extra at the end of lease if the body shop work was shoddy (or did not use OEM parts). Also, every body shop was busy doing hail damage work and no one had availability for the extensive work I needed. I was really stressed out. Multiple other shops actually recommended Northside to me, telling me they specialized in luxury vehicles. Long story short, I recently turned in the leased vehicle and I had no extra charges added. The owner was very nice and explained the entire process to me. He was straightforward and notified me that he charges higher prices for his work and that the auto insurance company would have to pay those rates or he may have to bill me the difference (I got the impression it would not be that much and that this was unlikely). However, the owner also explained that he deals with the auto insurance adjusters constantly, and that all this is very normal. In the end, my auto insurance and him came to amicable resolution (regarding payment) and I had to do nothing. The work itself was good. There were small issues and I had to come back twice to get things ironed out. For example, one of windows did not fit correctly, etc... To be honest, considering the extent of the damage, these were small things. The one caveat is that it was not "perfect" work, the paint had a few drip lines on one side of the car and overall it was pretty obvious that the car had work done (meaning other shops and other people noticed the work right away). I moved from SA a while ago, but if I was still in the area and had any body shop work this is still the only shop I would go to and the only shop I would recommend. read more

Northside is a great business. My car was rear ended in an accident and I took my car to their shop to get an estimate and possibly have my car worked on recommendation of the other car's insurance. Although my car didn't get fixed, they were very thorough doing the estimate and constantly kept me in the loop on my car. My car eventually got totaled out but they insured me there was a possibility if they could fix it they would. Honest folks and great people. I had a few things that had been wrong with my truck for years and something new (that I was told by another place needed to be fixed). To be honest, I took my truck over to these guys because they are next to my work and it was convenient. My driver's side door hasn't opened from the outside in 8 years since a break in. I took it to another place back then and they wanted $600 to fix it. They said they had to order a bunch of parts blah blah blah. These guys fixed that in under 5 minutes. They fixed a couple of other things that I needed fixed. A broken light, broken window and then told me that the other thing that another place wanted me to fix for $891...didn't need anything done to it after all. I'm tired of shady mechanics trying to take advantage of people just because their education is in something other than vehicles. It's like a doctor telling someone they need a heart transplant when they don't. It is refreshing to find some honest guys in this profession. I stopped in at Northside in a panic because a saleswoman mistakingly sold me a bottle of spray paint instead of Plastidip, a safe removable paint I intended on using to paint my decals. I had painted a several areas of my truck with the can before I realized it was spray paint that she sold me and the overspray that should have been easily peeled away was permanent! I immediately went to the closest bodyshop and the Gutierrez men were very accommodating and rushed my truck into the shop to try and save the body. Luckily, their fast action was able to salvage my truck and they removed the permanent spray paint off of all of the affected areas since it hadn't completely dried yet. They did this all free of charge, what would have been thousands of dollars to strip and repaint the spray paint was reversed quickly.
