I messed up my rear bumper cover on my BMW 528i. Based on the high YELP rating, I took my car in to see what could be done to fix it. I was expecting the worst and thought i'd be getting expensive bumper cover and bumper replacement as well as paint. NOPE! They were able to quickly assess the damage and pop and snap my bumper cover back into place. They didn't charge me anything! YES, YOU read that right! I handed them a $100 bill and it was refused! I hope I never need my car repaired BUT if I ever do, I will go back to STAR COLLISION! read more

My first experience was back in 2016 with my Chevy Silverado and I couldn't have been happier. Unfortunately, we had to return after my wife was involved in a collision. But I knew Star Collision would be the place to take our 2022 Toyota Rav 4 to. Mauricio, Hector, Cynthia, and Austin took care of us. They are a family owned business and they made us feel that way. Mauricio and Hector both gave us their personal attention even when their mother had passed away. God Rest Her Soul. If that's not personal, what is? What other business does those kinds of things. Austin made sure we were covered and are issues were resolved even after all the repairs were completed. They guarantee their work for life. I contacted them 4 times asking for a cost estimate and never heard back, twice by submitting their online form, once using a Yelp project feature, and finally calling them directly by phone. They never replied. I guess business is so good they don't need new business. I'm working too hard to try and get their business when it should be the other way around, so I'll just find another. Shame, because they have good ratings and I had 2 vehicles needing attention. read more

These guys did a great job with our 2024 BMW i5. I scraped the front bumper on the garage and the fender had a lot of paint and some chips. The first estimate was $2500. I took it to Star and Mauricio quoted me $800-ish for the fender repair. Great, let's do it. Then he said, "You know, I bet I can clean some of that up." Some solution and a minute of wiping and the paint was gone. He then reduced the estimate to $600. I did pay more for the fix of another spot and the necessary sensor recalibration, but even then it was well under the first estimate. Also, communication is really important to me and at the end of every day I got a text from Mauricio with the work completed that day and the next steps. The job they did was outstanding. You would never know there was damage on the fender. Highly recommend these guys. read more

My son had a wreck in October of 2022. Progressive told us that all body shops in San Antonio were behind so I used yelp to ask multiple body shops when they could get my son's car into the shop. Star Collision responded they could take my son's car the following Monday they also had great star ratings. I won't get into the gory details but the shop changed staff, the new person blamed the old person before him. He weekly told me a new date the car would be ready. He didn't care about delay because they were doing their best. He also didn't care that I chose this shop for speed and service and they were not delivering on either. After 3 more weeks of delay I told Zach he had to own it now because it had almost been another month of delays and he couldn't blame anyone anymore. For the 5th time he promised me, "we hope by Friday but no later than Monday.... But we will call you." Then he called my son and asked if he would sign a waiver of liability because the frame was bent. This was after $2,500 worth of work and months. I called progressive and complained, then refused to work with Zach again and asked for manager. The net net is after calling repeatedly, being lied to about damages, estimated due date, being laughed at by Zach and being told, "I am sorry you FEEL that way." --Progressive totaled at the end of December. The manager did step in and was nice and honest but damn it took forever to get to him. The body shop did unauthorized work without insurance approval, tried to cover up the frame was damaged and basically I think Zach should not ever talk to a customer again. It wasn't a bad day. It wasn't lack of training. He had months to make this right. Be careful. Only talk to manager. Ask them their turn around time. Progressive has marked them as a cautionary body shop. Or better yet -- be safe and go somewhere else. read more

BE AWARE OF DOING BUSSINESS. Horrible service even worse workmanship. They had my vehicle for 5 months, and still couldn't deliver quality results. Damaged other components on my vehicle. Continued to order the wrong cosmetic parts even after I provided direct links to the correct parts. When I finally had enough and terminated service, i was left with a damaged hood(that they installed) (multiple dents, swirls and scratches, and significantly misaligned. Damaged a rim from using wheel dollies carelessly. LOST the key fob. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few details, bottom line for the degree of repairs and the time they had the vehicle this shop deserves ZERO STARS. read more

I got into an accident a couple of weeks before Christmas. My car wasn't too banged up, but the hood of my vehicle wouldn't close so I picked Star Collision to fix my vehicle, through my insurance. They were very fast, efficient, and personable. As a female, it is sometimes uncomfortable for me to go to places like auto shops. Although, the mechanics at Star Collision were very polite and didn't treat me differently just because I am a woman. I appreciated that a lot! When my mechanic, Zach, asked me to bring my car to the shop it was right before I was supposed to go to work. I was going to order a Lyft but one of the other mechanics offered to drop me off at work. I was already very worried about my vehicle, and I feel like Star Collision went above and beyond to help me out. Not to mention, how quickly and efficiently they repaired my car! The quote was below the place my insurance company recommended and they well exceeded my expectations with the handling of my Suburban and customer service. Mauricio told me the work would be complete in a little over a week and completed it right on time! It was even during the holidays and I thought no way will they have it done, but they did. During the time my vehicle was with them Mauricio would text me pics and keep me up to date with the whole process. This repair shop went from exemplary to completely incompetent in just a few years(the most recent reviews even show this). We used them a few years ago and recently my husband's truck was in an ax we took it here thinking we would get the same exceptional service and attention as we did in the past WE WERE SO WRONG.... Mauricio gave Excuses after excuses on why the Truck repairs weren't completed or the parts didn't match up when they ordered them? What should have been a 2 week turn around came out to have it for more than 3 1/2months!!! This place is incompetent and I want to warn people to save themselves time, frustration and money. read more

After body repair on my 2005 Honda Accord by Mr. Herrera's shop (Star Collision Repair), the Traction Control System (TCS) warning light came on while driving. Star Collision Repair's contracted mechanic did not correctly install the replacement brake switch in an attempt to fix the warning light, and my brakes subsequently overheated. This caused damage to my brake pads, rotors, and calipers. After just 0.8 miles, my car began to stink badly and the brakes locked, requiring a tow. Gunn Honda correctly re-installed the brake switch and noted that the improper installation had caused the brakes to be engaged while driving. Disputing this assessment, Mr. Herrera claims that his mechanic inspected the brakes on 20 January 2023 after the warning light came on, and assessed that they were in poor condition. [The brakes had in fact been serviced 9800 miles ago.] However, not only did he not tell us about this alleged evaluation, he simply ordered a brake switch replacement. After 10 days of no action, my husband and I came to Star Collision Repair on 30 January intending to pick up my car and take it to Gunn Honda. Mr. Herrera insisted that his mechanic could install the brake switch in 15-20 minutes, and we acquiesced. [If he truly thought the brakes were shot, why not just let us go to Gunn Honda?] However, the switch was incorrectly installed, and my car became undrivable As a result of their mistake, I requested that Star Collision Repair pay $520 of my total $1230 brake repair cost, and he refused. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which has no enforcement authority. And my advice for a future client that Mauricio will promise to do repar and you will trust to him and then he will put blame on you if he will screw up his work. Be aware of this unprofessional unethical behavior toward a client.And This shop does not have enough trained people to perfom a job as correctly install TCS switch or may be another jobs .I would not trust such specialists They can blame you and they not return your spended $$ from another shop to fix your damaged car by Star Collision. read more
