So, I was pulling into a parking space when the car parked opposite suddenly backed out and slammed into the right rear corner of my Yukon XL Denali rear bumper, leaving a huge dent in it and wrecking one of the proximity sensors located in the rear bumper to warn of approach to an object while backing up. She was insured by USAA so I took her insurance info and filed a claim. I can't speak to how it worked on her end but on mine it was great. I had expected that I would be put off and they would try to send me to a low rent repair shop where they would use cheap knockoff parts or parts salvaged from a junkyard. NONE of that happened. USAA sent me to Cavender Collision Center, the body shop department of my GMC dealer, Cavender GMC Buick North. This is a good as it gets for body work in San Antonio, Texas. Cavender made the repair using new GMC OEM parts; replaced the bumper, including the step and the decorative chrome strip, painted it with a perfect color match, and it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. They also replaced the damaged sensor. The little plastic trim item in the driver's door that covers the bolt that holds the latch mechanism together had broken and fallen off. I had intended to order a new one but hadn't gotten around to it. They replaced it for no charge and didn't even mention it. Yes, I know the little part was not expensive but it was a kindness that I didn't expect. The driver-side low beam headlight was out and I had bought the replacement bulb but hadn't installed it. Cavender installed it with a smile; no charge. The bumper repair was flawless; beautiful job. Paint is not easy; especially automotive paint. Whoever painted my bumper is an artist. It looks like factory. Kudos to Samantha Romo, Cavender Collision Center receptionist, and to Conrad Muth, my Cavender Collision Center service rep. Well done. You guys turned a potentially miserable experience into a trip to the supermarket with my wife; not an experience I look forward to but one that's necessary and you made it as painless as possible. Sometimes the right people turn a potentially miserable experience into an opportunity to meet them. If you need body work, I highly recommend Cavender Collision Center. Conrad lies and argues with his customers regarding his sales practices. Puts his vacation plans ahead of his job and customers. Went in for simple fix and they made my bumper look worse than its original damage. Took two weeks to accomplish this. Now it's taken them a day and a half to try and correct it but cant be bothered until after the weekend to attempt the second delivery. Week 3 for a minor fender bender. STAY AWAY! To quote their management " there are body shops on every corner in San Antonio".....I should have gone to one of them. The most impersonal business I have dealt with. They told us our vehicle was ready when it was not and they wanted to be paid before ordering parts. We base 90% of our decisions on customer service. Mondo was our service guy for updates on the car. After not hearing from him the day he said he would update, I called the shop. When I asked what parts needed replaced, he said I didn't need to know. I responded politely and explained we only chose them bc they agreed to update us and we only wanted original parts and pieces put on the car. He treated me like a piece of the dirt on the bottom of your shoe. I got angry and raised my voice and got nowhere. In the end, They left bright yellow tape in multiple places under the grill, there was pasty white cleaner all over the place and my favorite, someone spit on the driver side door. I am very disappointed with the service we recieved. Although the repairs were completed the state the car was returned was unacceptable. It had a thick layer of dust coating it from the warehouse it was in and the driver side window was left open so that the interior was exposed to any airborne dirt in the warehouse. The interior was not left the way we dropped it off. There were foot scuffs all over the light colored interior including on the door. My husband takes pride in keeping the car immaculate and although the car went in with damage, it was in a better state than when we picked it up. The consolation was a detailing or gift card for cleaning supplies as my husband washes it by hand. This is unacceptable for any vehicle especially a corvette that was recently purchased. read more

I would not recommend this collision center to anyone. They have had my car since January 24th for a repair that was originally estimated to take just eight days. It's now well beyond that timeline, and I was told two weeks ago that my car would be ready--but that deadline has come and gone. They keep changing the completion date and giving excuses, including ordering the wrong parts. The lack of communication and accountability has been extremely frustrating. Save yourself the headache and take your car elsewhere. read more

They had my land rover from march twenty nine through october twenty third. They said that they were waiting for parts where rest of Patt's was sent to them. And they were eat maroon and did not look for it. Father maw the fat that they're waiting for has been discontinued for over two years and substituted with send pat numbers.. The repairs made to my vehicle were very minor but my car was in the shop for a few weeks. They said due to staffing issues. The receptionist Jessica was very communicative with the details on my car. Unfortunately when I came out to pick up my car no one walked out with me to see if I was satisfied with my car. I had a few things done to include a readjustment on previous work. They had a few guys in the office and they didn't look busy. But yet no one walked out with me or called to see if I was satisfied. So if you're looking for customer service don't expect it here (except from Jessica - the service admin) and the body work is ok but make sure you take a real good look at the details to include color, evenness and functionality of your work. my vehicle was recently "repaired" at Cavendar Collision on Wetmore in San Antonio. I was told on Thursday 3/23 that my vehicle was ready to be picked up, all diagnostics and testing had been completed and were successful. I picked my car up at approximately 12 pm. By 2 pm, my F-Pace was back on a tow truck headed to your body shop because of incorrect repairs. After being told the vehicle was ready to go and driving no more than 10 miles, the car started violently shaking, steam coming out of the engine compartment, and fluid began leaking from the car. I drove my car 1/2 mile to a safe location, as I was in the middle of an intersection when this began happening, and the car was towed immediately back to yall. I have since learned from John Qualls at Land Rover Jaguar SA that the coolant system was not properly repaired, which caused the leak I mentioned, and ultimately caused the engine to be blown, which will now require a full replacement. None of these issues were caused by the initial accident that landed my car in your body shop to begin with. Each of these problems are a result of poor performance and improper repair by your employees. I've been told by John at Land Rover Jaguar SA that there is a good possibility that my 2022 F-Pace with less than 10,000 miles will be totaled because of this failure by your employees and your body shop. Aside from this failure, I am also now having to pay directly for a rental car. This rental car has already cost me nearly $1,000 since Thursday 3/23, even with the Cavendar "discounted rate" of $69.99 per day. This rental car will continue to cost me thousands of dollars in the following weeks and potentially months as my car is either totaled out and I have to buy a new car or as it is repaired. Again, a direct result of the failures of your employees and body shop. Finally, throughout the entire repair process prior to receiving a defective car, I received sub-par customer service from your employee, Mando. This service included being ignored for days on end, being promised phone calls only to never receive them, and finally receiving a vehicle that was not ready in the first place. None of this even comes close to meeting the level of service expected from a body shop that claims to cater to luxury vehicles like Land Rover and Jaguar. I understand and expect that Mando will say I pressured him into giving me the car back, but the fact of the matter is, if the car was not ready to be driven off of that lot, he never should have put the keys into my hands. He willingly gave me the car after promising me that all diagnostic tests had been run and the car was in great shape. Now, as a direct result of this negligence, my car is potentially totaled. When I spoke with him on Thursday after the vehicle began shaking, my father and I were both assured that every diagnostic test had been run, came back successful, and the vehicle could be returned to me. Finally, as of this email, your employee Mando has blocked my phone number after I requested a phone call from his supervisor, which leads me to writing this email. None of this is acceptable from a "luxury repair shop." Cavendar Collision needs to step up and make this situation right. This includes, at minimum, covering the cost of a rental car that is equivalent to my F-Pace in size and status for the time that one is necessary going forward, reimbursing me for the costs I have already incurred for a rental car, and paying the cost of replacing the engine and any other necessary equipment in my F-Pace. read more

For years I've taken my vehicles and family's vehicles to the same repair shop to have ALL of our cars fixed. We had a minor accident a few weeks ago and I called the same repair shop just to find out they were under new Mgt. . I couldn't get anyone on the libe and got no call back. I heard about a new state of the art collision center owned by the Cavender family and gave them a shot. The 1st person to take my call was Erica and I wanted to rave about her because from the moment she took that call, all the stress of dealing with this melted away. I literally didn't have to do anything once she took on my case, I was consistently kept updated and she handled things like an absolute Pro. Erica obviously has been part of the industry a long time and the Cavender's know how to pick them. I got my car back and was so happy with the results. From the outside, looked great. But slowly my bumper started falling apart. Took my car to a local body shop and low and behold, there are parts missing from the assembly. We would have never known because it was behind several layers of the bumper. There are pieces of the bumper not screwed together, the screws were just placed in there without being properly secured, thus resulting in the holes being stripped out. I've lost all trust in this body shop at this point because this is costing me thousands out of pocket to repair. read more

I came here because it is the official Land Rover collision center. They quoted me a week for my car. Didn't hear from kathy my collision center specialist for a week and a half. Called her two weeks later, left a message, didn't hear back, texted her- no response. Called the center and they connected me to her office... which I had called. She told me my car would be done in another week overall I am unhappy with the communication and will not recommend. Almost 3 weeks later and car is still in the shop for minor collision damage. read more
