Good service. Great counter staff. Have used them to store and switch tires for years with no issues.

Multiple oil changes on several vehicles, two timing change belts on a Jetta diesel, thousands of dollars spent, and the "level of service" I personally received from the store manager Gord, was appalling. I took my brand new vehicle in for an oil change at the end of March 2025. The employee that serviced my vehicle, re-used the factory crush washer, and also took the engine cover off (don't know why you would need to take an engine cover off for an oil change). Having a gravel driveway, neither myself or my husband noticed the oil leaking out. When I did notice, the vehicle being under warranty, it was taken to the dealership, where it cost me $200 for them to tell me that whoever did the last oil change didn't do it properly. When I took my issues to Gord, I was "mansplained" on how he has personally changed oil on, as I quote "way more expensive vehicles than yours" and how they never replace the crush washers (that's how they work, they are crushed when they used and are NOT reusable) and that he would not be helping me with the $200 I had to pay for his stores mistake. Oh, and nor would he be looking for an engine cover, cause he had "non kicking around sweetie", and would have called me if he had seen it. I had lost over a litre of oil in my vehicle, and was looking at a completely seized engine on a brand new car. Since Barb has left, it has gone downhill. If I had the option to give this store 0 stars, I would. I would recommend going anywhere else for your oil change.

Had the front/rear rotors & pads done on my 2009 Odyssey back in July 2022 for approx $700. Ivan…read moresaid he used Akebono coated parts which are suppose to be a premium product that I've used in my other vehicle with excellent results. The following spring, with only 10k km on these rotors/pads, I started to notice brake performance decline with it not really biting and needing to apply a lot more pedal pressure to stop properly. Brought it back for Ivan to inspect. He said rotors had a lot of rust, however, they were all suppose to be coated which greatly increases the time for rust to form. So, for rust form so quickly and so severe to affect performance in just 8 months and with only 10K Km since install....that just doesn't add up and Ivan wasn't able or willing to offer anything (possible defective warranty etc) other than to resurface them for an extra $100-200. That really didn't make any difference. So, I ended up going back to my regular guru who replaced all the pads with Power Stop shortly after. Fixed it and it was 100% better. Not sure if the issue was with the parts, the installer or a bit of both. Things just didn't make much sense to me and Ivan wasn't really taking any initiative or making any effort help me other than charging extra to hopefully remedy my issues. Lesson learned...Will keep to my guru from now on.

SCAMMERS AND SABOTAGE!!!…read more Never would I EVER recommend someone to go to this SCAMMERS garage!! I was stranded there about a month ago when my 2005 Mini Cooper S was over heating on my way back from Toronto to Ottawa. This guy has a tow truck driver who intercepts the police intercoms to pick up other drivers before the requested tow truck driver from the police gets to you first. He plays the nice guy and tries to make seem like he cares about whats happening all to soften the blow of how much you're about to get OVER CHARGED!! For an engine cooling fan which reguallarly would cost $150 NEW cost me $250, and a part like that literally takes 30 minutes to put on took them 4 HOURS!!! Charged me another $250 dollars for labor! Not only that he then tells me my car feels like its lost some power AFTER he was done with it. (Which while I was on my way back there was no such issue, just the over heating). I feel as though this guy just takes full ADVANTAGE of people who get stuck on their way back and just charges them as much as he can because he knows damn well that they have no other choice! Now about the SABOTAGE and make sure you guys are prepared to go to court for this one!! ONE WEEK LATER the cars alternator dies. Why? I wondered for a whole month as I waited for my uncle who's a professional mechanic while he was changing the alternator saw that there was some WIRES THAT WERE CUT! He took pictures and sent them to. So not only do I have several witnesses lined up, I have evidence that if it was already premeditated, it was not a well done job that PORT HOPE AUTO SERVICE has provided me with at PREMIUM PRICE!!! This is completely unacceptable, I've contacted the labor board, and my lawyer. If I don't get a full refund of the $600 of the poor job done I will make sure to press charges and see that this SCAMMERS CASH GRABBING GARAGE IS CLOSED!!!!!!

I want to keep this car as long as possible, before I have to buy my final one. Car was done well within the time I was told. She had printed the estimate of what work I needed uncovered during the inspection, and indicated the ones that were high priority. If I wanted to go ahead with the repairs, they could do it right away. I said I needed to call my neighbour to get a ride home (I don't live in the town)....She not to worry, they could give me a ride home! They did, and they also picked me back up to go get my car. I've done business with Matt's on 3 occasions. Excellent work, done when promised. Today was another example of inctlredible customer service. Matt's Automotive makes it easy to support local business The rest of the repairs need several hours.
