For years now, we've been taking all of our cars to another mechanic, but after struggling to get appointments in anything close to a reasonable time and dealing with the same maintenance issue multiple times, we decided to give another shop a try. I called NAC on a Monday about my brakes, and they had me in on Tuesday. This car needed more than a few things beyond the brakes. They did a great job on the brakes and for a little less than I expected, and then walked through the rest of the issues, their urgency, and broke down the costs of each in case I wanted to tackle them one after the other. The facility is clean and welcoming and they have a waiting room you'd actually want to wait in, with clean furniture that doesn't look like it came from someone's living room castoffs. They were kind and friendly and easy to schedule with, and in subsequent appointments, their prices have been fair and they've been honest about the work needed. read more

During the recent extreme cold, I was visiting my son in Spokane Valley. The heater in his vehicle was not working. I called Northwest and was given an appointment time. When I got there, it only took minutes to turn over the vehicle. Although I seemed to beat them to making progress calls, each time we connected I was given an update. The cost of the repair seemed very reasonable and they were able to complete it same day...on a 1998 Ford! A month later, the heater is still working beautifully. Thank you Northwest! I called northwestern because my daughter needed help and being I live 1500 miles away I didn't have a mechanic I new or trusted in Spokane. It was 45 minutes before they closed and Jim was amazing. Wow, what a great experience! Jim exemplifies what excellence in customer service is every day, & so many could learn how to run their businesses better by his example: Our Murano died in the Spokane Valley Mall parking lot on Sunday, July 4th. It was our first visit to the area, so it was nerve-racking! Mall security really helped us by jumping our vehicle, & then recommending Northwest Automotive! When the Murano quickly died after the jumper cables were removed, we knew it was the alternator causing all the trouble! It's July 4th, right? So I called Northwest Automotive & LVM explaining our situation. We re-checked in to our hotel (Oxford Suites--highly recommend!) & went to dinner--& then Jim called me! We got an excellent towing company (Reliable Towing--highly recommend!) to deliver the Murano on Monday, July 5th, & Jim got a new alternator installed that very day! We got to drive home to Bozeman, Montana, that day--unbelievable! I didn't know what was wrong with my car, so I tried these guys. Good communication throughout the day, letting me know what they tried and thought the problem was. They discovered it was my axles and replaced them for a decent price. Car runs as smooth as butter now. They did sell me on a set of tires, which I knew I needed. I don't feel like they tried to sell me on unnecessary things, which I appreciate. read more

Called in Saturday morning check get my power steering pump replaced. Talked with Jason who was very helpful and scheduled me an appointment for later in the afternoon. I came in dropped off my car. Before I knew it I was getting a phone call from Jeff who let me know what was going on. He told me I had some other issues I need to address in the near future. Jeff also let me know that since my pump was leaking I might have an issue with my line. Sure enough the line burst 2 days later. I took it back and Jeff and Jason jumped right on it and got it taken care of for me. I would recommend this place to anyone in town that has an issue. I've work with lots of mechanics in my day and these guys are top notch and trust worthy. They will be doing the rest of the repairs on my Durango. read more

Was new in the area and got befriended but a retired couple who knew their way around. Thankfully they had 240,000 miles on their car because of its careful maintenance by Northwest Automotive on Pine in Spokane Valley. So I checked them out for an oil change and car diagnostic before heading off on a road trip to Arizona. They did a thorough job and I was able to drive off with confidence. And I still had cash left in my wallet. Great pricing. They aren't giving their work away but they are fair. They also have a great waiting room and as a perk they are near at yummy euro food shop on Pine, which is worth a go to. read more

My Ranger had some major problems and I've been putting off getting it fixed because it's so hard to find a good mechanic that won't rip you off. Well, after talking to a few shops on the phone and getting a bit of runaround about shop fees and diagnostic charges as well as getting the "we won't be able to look at it for a few weeks" I called Northwest Auto on Pines and Steve told me that if I could get it there he'd take a look. I got it there (after hours) and I called the next day to give them a run down of what I was looking to have them done. When I called, I expected them to tell me it would be weeks, what I was told by Jim was "I have some one that can look it over in about 20 minutes. Holy S#!t that was awesome! Not only did they have the problem diagnosed but had it fixed but also fixed another major issue and rule out another. I picked it up the next day and it runs like it did when I first got it 10 years ago. These guys are amazing and have earned my trust and my business! read more

Won't go anywhere else, they fixed my Honda Civic when I first bought it with and alignment (way cheaper than les Schwab) and after an accident they installed my adjustable control arms in light got me new rims I needed as I had the wrong size rims in my car and a new tire and another alignment for 446 dollars AMAZing !! read more

Northwest is the most honest, helpful tire store I have ever done business with. I have gone to them 4 or 5 times now. On two occasions, I was not charged for simple service items. The first was to have the studs pressed out of my old drums and installed on new drums that I had purchased elsewhere- no charge. The second time I brought in a flat tire, and they tried to repair it and determined that it could not be repaired- no charge. So they won my business. I returned to buy 4 winter tires, and they were extremely helpful in explaining alternate sizes to me because the size of my summer tires were unavailable. I have never felt that they were trying to sell me a product or service that I did not need. Also, I have found them to be extremely communicative. I would absolutely recommend Northwest. read more

The most dishonest place. The auto techs cannot even do a simple oil change correctly. They over filled my car twice. Had a part fixed they said it was warranted but it has broke twice and they won't take take care of the real problem. Bad business, bad people. On two occasions I've left a car here for expected repairs and had them not charge a dime. Once was because the low tire warning was on even though all tires had the correct pressure; I thought for sure they'd need to replace a 6 year old sensor. It turned out to be low pressure in the SPARE tire. Another time I dropped off a car for routine alignment after five years of driving on Spokane's notoriously bad roads without alignment; they checked the alignment and found it within specs. In either case they could have done the expected repair and I'd have never known there wasn't a problem. That is honesty, pure and simple. They have always charged a reasonable price for services when needed. These are good people. read more

I took my truck in there to get an alignment done after I had new struts put on, they aligned it and I had to take it back in two weeks later because the alignment popped out they tried to tell me that someone had messed with my tie rod and that's why my alignment popped out. They didn't tighten it down the first time so it was easy to blame me for there mistake. They charged me $65.00 to fix it and all they did was put lock tight on it and called it good. Took it back in today because it steers really hard never had the issue before I took it in and they are trying to convince me they had nothing to do with it. I worked great before they touched it and now I need to take it somewhere else to have someone I can trust fix it. I will never recommend these idiots to anyone. All I wanted them to do was fix there mistake. I showed them this morning and then they said they couldn't get it to do it again. Very frustrated horrible customer service and mechanics. read more
