I came here for urgent medical attention but due to the holiday my provider was closed. Check in was check. I was seen fairly quick. The physician was good. The nurse Tammy made my experience so much better. She stayed on top of my care. I greatly appreciated her. Small issues were quickly addressed by her. read more

I've never in my life not been checked for a concussion after I go into the doctors for a head injury there's either some kid of questionnaire they ask or flash a light in your eye whatever but I brought my brother here because he was hit in the face by well piping which is extremely heavy stuff and smacked him in the head and took a gash out of his eyebrow and they are saying to come back if we notice symptoms?? are you kidding? I had hoped to go to a local urgent care but knew that they don't typically have Xrays. The urgent care suggested NW Emergency Center. We arrived and I was seen within twenty minutes. The staff was nice and I appreciated the quick, thorough service. After some Xrays and MRI, they verified there was nothing serious happening and I was on my way. Sure, it's expensive. Hopefully you have decent health insurance to help with the cost. This will be my "go to" place for the future. read more

I was sent here from urgent care for further testing of a UTI and possible Kidney Stones. I was taken back within five minutes and was given an IV and pain meds within 20 min. After a CAT Scan revealed an UTI and Stones they started me on an IV bag and Antibiotics. The care has been exceedingly good as I would still be in the lobby at Northwest or in the hall. The pain was excruciating while I was at Urgent Care but has been manageable since I received pain medication here. I would highly recommend this ER. read more

waited for 2 hours in the back until anyone came just for them to tell me there's nothing they can do. spent a total of 3 hours there and it's just completely ridiculous how they run that place. there was only 3 cars when we got there and a person came in after us. by the time we left everyone was long gone. never coming back just a complete waste of time and money. read more

We presented to the Marana freestanding ER for a simple laceration repair when no urgent cares were open. We declined lidocaine administration. we have it documented in the physician notes as well as the procedure list that lidocaine was not utilized. Even so they sent us a bill that included licdocaine. We escalated this through the billing department and upon review they refused to remove the charge despite documented proof that lidocaine wasn't administered! This is fraud and despite efforts to get someone to contact us no one has responded to emails or phone calls! @marana freestanding and @oro valley hospital. The care was quick and fast but when they found out I didn't have insurance she got rude and pushing a payment plane the lady that was being trained on the new equipment told her why don't we just bill him and she kept pushing me to make a payment plan and kinda being rude and stuck up about it. I was in severe pain, so bad my mother thought I was literally dying. She brought me in, they heard what they wanted and the doctor repeatedly told me to "man up" from the pain. My mother was floored, meanwhile this and him yelling at me about not being able to stay still during an mri due to the amount of pain my chest was in. The Nurses and staff were wonderful! Dr. Lionel Lee was RUDE and made me me fell guilt for being there. The Nurses me that they are a hospital and that they are 24/7. But Dr. Lee says they are just a clinic. And he doesn't understand why people come there expecting a hospital experience! He was AWFUL!!! read more

Everything was exceptional. I made the appointment that morning for 1045. I arrived early because I knew I had paperwork that would be required to be filled out. I was ushered in given paperwork and within three minutes I was called to the back where the nurse did the pulmonary triage. My problem was with my right eye, it had been diagnosed as "goopy eye" on the phone just so I can get an appointment with an ophthalmologist. So Dr CHICON, was the attending physician. He answered all my questions delayed all my fears and explained everything he was doing and why. The diagnosis came out as bacterial conjunctivitis. Within five minutes after the diagnoses I was on my way home. The facility was very clean. The staff was wonderful and supportive. I cannot say enough good things about the good doctor. read more

literally made to feel like an idiot for being there. the nurse jeannie wouldn't even let me speak. i talked to dr penton and she also wouldn't let me say all the symptoms i was experiencing because she was in a rush. they told me my chest pain was probably anxiety and minimized my symptoms. they took an EKG and at first told me it was normal and then they came back to say it was abnormal. took a chest x-ray and they said it was normal, then i get home and receive a phone call that my chest x-ray was in fact not normal. they were all so rude and made me feel like an idiot for even going into the ER. literally just don't waste your time here. horrible experience. read more

I wouldn't come here if I was fucking dying. I have a deep laceration on my arm that has been bleeding throughout the 3+ hour wait, they stuck gauze on my shallow scratches that didn't need attention and left the soaked through gauze I brought on the laceration. When we asked for new gauze at least while waiting, the nurse stuck a pad of new ones on my arm and promptly walked out. Didn't bother to wrap it just expects me to hold this shit for the next 2 hours it'll take them to treat us. Horribly understaffed, and I could've probably taken better care of myself at home with how flippantly they've treated this. Ridiculous costs for poor treatment and outrageously long waits you better hope you aren't bleeding out and dying for- this place could not give less of a shit and would probably throw a fucking bandaid at you if you were on your last breath. Horrible overall, oh and we're still here almost 4 hours later. Go ahead and help yourself to their drawers if they're not gonna do shit for you themselves while you wait. Two emergency issues in the last 3 years - one in July of 2018 and again last Thursday. Absolutely awful. I will never go there again, even if I'm dying. So inappropriate. So condescending. I asked a simple question about not wanting to work with the same doctor I didn't like back in 2018 and they refused to answer. The nasty nurse said ... "he's the only one here, so take it or leave it." I said I would leave if was the same doctor. They continued to dodge the question for 35-40 minutes. Made me wait 45 minutes with a cracked head wound and a ear ripped open and then sent in a Dr. Harris wearing his eyewear, mask and hat so I wouldn't know if it was the same doctor I didn't like before. They would not answer until I went out into the lobby to demand to know if he was the same as before. Still, they had a very condescending and nasty attitude, so I left. They were awful. Just terrible to me. I went to Oro Valley Hospital instead and learned that the nasty folks at Marana had written spiteful things in my record. Untrue, slanderous things. Once I got to a real emergency room? Oro Valley Hospital was very helpful in sewing up my ear and head, giving me a CT, etc. Anyway - NEVER go to the Marana Emergency Room. It's unfortunate there isn't a negative rating because that's what I'd give. Dr Choy saw my daughter that has been diagnosed with MRSA. Antibiotics aren't working. She has a fever, swollen leg, and in extreme pain. He wanted to know how she got it. She doesn't know. Such a strange question. He went on a rant about how he's been a doctor for 11 yrs seen hundreds of thousands of patients and since my daughter looks young and healthy she should be able to fight it off. I asked one question about running blood work to make sure she's not going septic because it's gotten extremely worse over the past 24 hours. He got furious because I spoke. He went to go get two people to escort me out of the room. They came in and no one escorted me out. Because I'd done nothing wrong. Nurse Jeannie (amazing and nice) came in and said she would give us some bandages for the puss leakage. Dr Choy said it was better to let it leak everywhere including my daughter's bed and our couch. Where did this quack get his doctorate? He said "Americans overuse antibiotics" Then he decided to - ding, ding, ding - do a blood test for staph. Wow! It's like I just said that. I went into the ER with extreme pain in my back , hip , and wrist from a fall. I explained to the girl at the front desk what I would be needing an xray . Once I went to the back I explained to the nurse exactly what was going on. All the nurse was concerned about was if my vaccines were up to date. Dr. Cisenroz came in I pointed out my pain areas. Which he didn't even exam . He told me he would not treat me because this was not an emergency and I was at an emergency center and he told me to go home and take some Tylenol. I explained that I couldn't take Tylenol. He kept speaking over me and wouldn't allow me to even tell him everything. He said day 2 is the worst after a fall. I left out of the room without getting my discharge papers. I am so disgusted by this place. I literally was offered no help at all . It's unreal how they're trying to take advantage of people and not help them. Why even take my info and have me go back if you knew in advance you weren't going to help? Telling me I wasn't an emergency and I shouldn't be there. I'll be contacting my insurance and the NW medical board. This was mind blowing. This was an awful experience. I left feeling hopeless and in extreme pain. I wish I had seen the other reviews before going there. read more

My 5 month old developed a bad cough that had us very worried, after a slight wait at the window, they saw our baby boy right away and took great care of him. Never coming here. Horrible bedside manners. Dr Husain, gave me a sheet on anxiety because sore throat was closing up my throat and i haven't ate in two days and cant drink anything, had sternum pain from reflux and cough. Misogynistic much? Worsening sore throat for last 4 days. Lost voice. Never had a sore throat like this in my life. Ever. I can not swallow. I wish this hell on no one. But Drs should never treat you as if you are making it up. Yeah Im crying because it hurts insanely, i drove for two days to pick up kids from their dad on no sleep. i cant eat, drink, or sleep for the past couple days. That would make anyone upset! But the illness isnt fake Called my medical providers and they think its covid. Nurse said her friend had the exact same symptoms for last 10 days, negative home test. She said people are having covid symptoms but turning up negative on the home tests. Getting pcr tommorrow and appt at my provider. Don't waste your time here.... Was told to take malox for sore throat and reflux. I asked about not being able to drink and fluids and he said that i wasn't dehydrated - even though i haven't peed in a day, because i cant drink anything and he said that I'm discharged. Glad I lined his pockets for his unethical treatment of my illness and myself. I have had some amazing doctors in the past. Caring, good bedside manners. Empathetic. NEVER coming here again. This was an awful experience. He treated me like I was making the whole thing up. Update: sore throat did not magically go away with malox and it wasn't anxiety. Suprise surprise.. yeah I had reflux from gagging in my throat and not being able to swallow for days and barely getting any fluids down. It was a severe bacterial infection and only went away, and quickly, after beginning Augmentum. So it was bacterial, not viral. You don't need white spots to be bacterial. So not only was I told I had anxiety and panic attacks and it was in my head, I was in severe pain, blown off.. i had been on high doses of streroids which may have caused me to be more susceptible but Dr. did not even think of that. third and final visit to primary resulted in it actually getting diagnosed properly and treated. I don't go to the ER to make stuff up. And patients should be treated compassionate, ethically and properly. Thats not what they took oath in when they went into the medical field. I feel bad for everyone else treated poorly here, which has been plenty by looking at other reviews. Do not go here. read more

A family member of mine was misdiagnosed here because the dr came in for MAYBE 30 seconds to talk to her about her symptoms (I was there with her so I know), said it was a UTI and left not offering pain medication or anything. I hate ER's (who doesn't?) but this place was top notch. The staff was polite, friendly and efficient. Dr. Mayo was caring, a great listener and took my son's issues seriously. Because of his patience and competency, my son left the ER feeling so much better than when we got there. The RN was also really attentive. Would go back there for anything. read more

I went to the emergency because every other one in town had 24 hour waits. The Northwest got me right in, recognized the severity of my situation and helped me to problem solve. Since I had a surgery procedure, and there was a problem with the healing, they normally won't do much to address another doctor's procedure (which is understandable). Evenso, the doctor helped me to solve the problem with suggestions and we worked together in the room and were able to remove a large clot that was causing me to gag and choke constantly. The doctor and nurse were both professional and sympathetic and helped me to find a solution that worked! Thank you Northwest Center! read more

I took my wife to Northwest Emergency Center in Marana on Monday, 9 September. She had a severe tooth infection and the left side of her face was extremely swollen. We saw our family dentist earlier that morning and he was concerned about the swelling. He gave her some antibiotics and pain medication. As the day progressed, her face became increasingly swollen and her pain was at a level of "8" or higher. The dentist suggested I take her to the Northwest Emergency Center in Marana. We arrived around 6:00 PM the same day. She was seen by Dr. Cisneroz, who basically explained to us how SERIOUS the swelling is, especially if it started to spread to her neck and affect her breathing. The dentist had mentioned an IV to treat this infection more aggressively. However, when I brought that up to Dr. Cisneroz, he rejected the idea without any explanation at all. He also mentioned giving my wife some steroids to reduce the swelling, but he did not do that either. He only prescribed a stronger antibiotic and stronger pain medication than what she received earlier and sent her home. Within a few hours, her pain had increased and her facial swelling was now much worse. She could barely talk since her face and lips were so swollen. Around 11:30 PM that same day, I took her to Oro Valley Hospital, where almost immediately, an IV was started through which the doctor administered pain medication, a corticosteroid and antibiotics. She began to improve within hours and, by Tuesday evening, was in a much better place. Dr. Cisneroz came off as rude and dismissive of my wife's pain, at one point during the exam stating, "I'm still talking" when my wife tried to explain something to him. That was very rude and unnecessary, as my wife was extremely uncomfortable and in a lot of pain. Trust me - this was our first and LAST trip to this facility. If you are in the Marana/Oro Valley area and need urgent care support, think twice about going to this facility. read more

Fraudulent billing practices and no services provided. My wife and I received a surprise medical bill of $1650 after taking our infant here - separate from the $250 dollar bill for the visit. We spent about 10 minutes with the doctor and were told that we should come back in a few days if symptoms persist. No tests, blood draw, or any other diagnostics aside from taking temperature at the forehead. Do not go to this facility if it can at all be avoided. What these people charge is criminal - we're not paying the fraudulent $1650 bill. read more

One of the worst places to go for an emergency, especially at night. The ambulance took me there last monday morning, and yes they got me right in and began taking care of me. Good people at this point. Then the shift change happened and the monsters came out. They didn't seem to want to get my pain medication out to me on time. When I called the desk, the little girl decided she coud hang up on me any time she wanted. When she finally came to the room, no medication. Then she wanted to start an argument. She went away. I called the desk again and got the other on the intercom (her name sounds like banana, she told me.) Apparently, I was asking too much for the both of them I guess. Because this one too, wanted to argue with me. She told me she could bring the medication late if she wanted. Then she turned around and told me this medication could only be administered at certain times. I reminded her of what she had said earlier, she didn't like that, didn't like being called out about what she had said. Good God! is what she said when she hung the phone up. She did come into my room then and with the proper medication. Then she wanted to continue to argue with me, even to the point of talking over anything I wanted to say. She finally shut up long enough for me to tell her rather loudly that I understood when things get hectic and appreciated her help, just not her attitude. I also told her I woud be making a not so shining report. The day crew was fine, just these two night morons. Do not go here, whatever you do. My ambulance took me to Saurhita a few days later, one of the best experiences I have had regarding medical emergencies. read more

We waited nearly 3 hours for her to receive her care. They kept coming by and closing our door. Whenever it was closed, it seemed they just forgot we were even there. They did absolutely nothing for me, the discharge paperwork showed me being seen for something totally different than I went in for, and the bill was over a thousand dollars. I took my wife there yesterday afternoon because they had available "appointments" and Oro Valley Hospital and Northwest Medical Center did not. First, she was told oh we don't take appointments even though the website says we do. The place was nearly empty, so she was placed in a room and given a urinalysis immediately (the concern was that she either had a kidney problem or a muscular back issue), in horrible pain. 2 1/2 hours later she left in tears because nobody gave her any treatment, test results, information, advice or anything else. She just sat there in an uncomfortable room, alone of course, since they say come in alone on their website. Nobody could be bothered to check on her, let her know if there was anyone there with any interest in helping her, or anything else. Meanwhile, I messed up my back having to sit outside in the car. As far as I am concerned, THIS PLACE IS ABUSIVE and did considerable harm to my wife and I. read more

The level of professionalism, courtesy was ( the doctor knocked on my door and wouldn't enter until I said "come in") unbelievable. The speed, efficiency, and respect was top notch. northwest er dr harris is the worst emergency experience I've had since another hospital same type of dr, sent me home with a preforated colon. Almost died due to faulty patient profiling insensitive INEPT DRS! mind you, i have zero history of abusing and requested help but not anything else...ANYTHING! No help offered, thorough testing, but stuck 7 times said my viens were fried...i have always had tiny viens and have had many operations and hospitals ruined the only one that could be used. Treated like i was crazy, i had been in bed for a week battling a pancreas flare up, finally broke down and went to this er. Told my son on the way home, i will never go to another er, unless unconscious or dead! Told a constant fever all week of 99 to a 100 was normal! Not for me its not!! I begged for help on what could be wrong and what can i do, i was told just give it time. We are not going to give you a perscription...I TOLD HIM I DIDN'T WANT A PERSCRIPTION I WANTED HELP I am posting this because i have come very close to death before because of this kind of dr!! I'll be honest and admit I came here during the midst of a mental breakdown the resulted from a sexual assault on the job (I'm an RN), car accident and was running from the perpetrator of a separate, physical assault, at the time and all within that same day. I was very upset, to say the least, and the nurse was very caring and knew something was really wrong, as I could barely speak from crying. But when the attending provider came in, he was very cold to me; asking "so what's wrong" and when I was finally able to get out that I wasn't feeling well mentally and felt suicidal he says: "well, you're going to the psych ward then!" and proceeds to grab an otoscope to exam my right ear???!? As if, maybe, the answer to the problem lies somewhere in there or that was a crucial and the pressing issue to assess?! That's how clueless he presented. That was as far as the assessment went, as I pulled away and he promptly left the room. As I opened the door to leave the room behind him, I hear he blurts out to the nursing station: "she's suicidal" and everyone gasps, as if I've said a forbidden phrase, threatening someone or had otherwise been wildly offensive in some manner. As I left they threatened to call the police on me and they did, which I get. I'm actually a behavioral health and acute care psychiatric RN and DNP-PMHNP (psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner) candidate, and know this part is procedural; but this attending provider's behavior was so harsh, cold and very uncaring. Like excuse me for experiencing suicidal ideation, of which I had taken no physical action upon, presented myself in good faith looking for help and when I eventually ended up talking to the police that night, was deemed not a risk to myself or others. Everyone has a bad day now and then, but the level of obliviousness and lack of care for someone in distress and experiencing physical/sexual abuse was very sad and disappointing personally, and professionally to me. I'm not sure how they would handle other type of emergencies, but I definitely wouldn't come here if you're looking for any psychiatric-related trauma or disorder help or a safe-haven from abuse. The other staff was nice but at the end of the day, the provider dictates the plan of care and this provider was heartless. He was a tall, skinny white male with greying hair. read more

This is a very nice facility and there was no wait to se someone. They are really only equipped for smaller emergencies. I went for an unusual problem with my heart, which became the clinic joke. I don't think they all realized their voices carry. The less than helpful jackass of a doctor told me if the feeling I had were real, I would be dead. They sent me home after a 10 second EKG, drawing a little blood and taking an x-ray, which is all they are really equipped for. After following up with a real doctor, I have the results of my heart issue and am not dead, yet. It ended up being a leaking heart valve. Way to go doc! And thanks for the compassion. read more

I was transported by Ambulance to this facility for severe abdominal an back pain. They did bloodwork and gave me a shot of morphine and sent me home saying nothing was wrong. I returned the next morning to Oro Valley Hospital where I was admitted and had emergency gall bladder surgery. I had become septic, and spent 4 days inpatient due to NW Emergency sending me home when I should have been referred to the hospital. read more

While the RN, techs, e.t.c were efficient and friendly, Dr. Hougeir was not. He did not give me my ekg results, did not discuss discharge or even ask more about what was happening, have zero advice on my symptoms and yelled at me for following my doctor's order to come in. I understand that I'm presumed positive for COVID, but telling someone who just experienced a terrifying heart problem to stay home, despite my doctor telling me to go in, refusing to monitor, and refusing to even give the results of the ekg is not only unprofessional, but against the oath to do no harm. If he's that afraid of getting sick, he should have been a plastic surgeon and left the real medicine to doctors that give a damn. I was charged $350 to be yelled at and made to feel like I should just stay home and die. At least the aspirin I took before going in seemed to help, because he absolutely didn't even try. Dollars and was told if I paid in 10 days they would write off all but 720, so I did and then they told me it didn't include radiologist fee , 380. And er doc fee 521. Being new to Arizona they told me to find a family dr. That cost me 1,600 dollars. Will never go back. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

I went to the Marana emergency center last night around 9pm for a scary situation involving bat exposure. From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcome and cared for. The woman at the reception desk was incredibly kind. I didn't even have to sit down in the waiting room, I was taken back to a room right away and the nurse was already waiting. The doctor came in a couple of minutes later, they were all very nice, listened to my concerns, and took me seriously. The doctor made phone calls and did research on the situation before we decided on a course of action, and the nurse was very understanding of my anxiety over receiving treatment. I was in and out in a little over an hour (mostly because we were waiting on others to return calls to the doctor) and discharge was quick and painless. I highly recommend driving the extra miles if you can, they are much better than northwest medical center. Thank you so much to the staff here for helping me feel safe in a scary situation. read more
