great service and responsive welcoming employees. i have been coming here for the past year and it's been consistently great service.

Trace was great for me in and out with no issues. One of the better experiences I've had going to a repair shop.

I brought my Honda HRX mower to them for a new carburetor in May of this year. They called me to ask if I'd like a tuneup as well. Normally, I do that myself, but since it was there, I said go ahead and do it. Two weeks later they called and said the mower was ready. The problem was that, I wasn't ready. Not ready to be charged 250.00 for a carb and a tuneup. According to the notice on their counter, a tuneup consists of such things as a sparkplug, oil, and air filter change. Along with that, there is a blade sharpening, as well as scraping the dead grass from the deck's underside. Upon my inspection, I noticed the deck was untouched and the blade was not sharpened. The filter was changed, but nothing else was performed that would justify the high cost for the service. When I asked to speak to the manager for a price adjustment, I was told by the young woman attendant that the manager wasn't there. I asked her when the manager would be there, she replied that he didn't work at that facility. They apparently have another location. I said in reply that I won't pay the bill until the manager calls me in order to see if something can be taken off of what should be a 150.00 dollar job. Two weeks later, I haven't been contacted, and don't expect to. I've since written off the mower and obtained a replacement. Anyone considering this business for small engine repair should consider going elsewhere. read more

I do not recommend Northwest Lawn and Power. Before, when it was 'Kipps" - I had been a customer for 20 years. Now, with the new owners and name ... they did not call when my mower service was complete; they charged extra for paying with a credit card; they did not wipe down my Honda mower - it dripped oil all over the back of my van. Not impressed. Will not return. I have not yet had a chance to inspect it ... make sure they actually performed the service: new plug, oil change, new filter, sharpen the blade. Not impressed. I will find a different service next time. read more

I needed to drop off my Toro mower because it after starting it dies. So I brought it to NLP on Ogden. The lot was empty and there was a girl helping someone with a riding mower. Ok, so waited...and waited, no one working inside the store. So I decided to wait outside until she was available. In the mean time an olde man who could barely walk came in. When I went back inside she was already waiting on this man. So I said I was here first. So I left and I got a call from John who said the girl said I didn't come to write up the order!! Well, she knew I was here first and she just decided to wait on this other customer. I left, went to Costco. Oh, and she said there was someone else who could help lift the mower but wasn't there yet. Nice way to treat potential customers!! Absolutely pathetic. In their online ads they show 12 people in a picture. Place was a ghost town. I will go to Russo where they have plenty of help and treat their customers right. read more

Took my Toro lawnmower in for repair 2 weeks ago. They called to tell me the compressor is not working and it is not worth repairing. I have been without a lawnmower all spring and they take 2 weeks to diagnose it as not repairable. I had taken my mower to this shop for years when it was Kipps and they always repaired it and never advised it wasn't worth repairing, which would be my decision to make, not theirs. Assuming they do small engine repairs, since I want my mower fixed, Rosario quoted me $600.00 which is more than a new lawnmower. She was extremely rude and condescending to me on the phone. Avoid this shop. I dropped off a lawnmower that I will never see again due to their incompetence and poor service. read more

Wow. We're done here. I've owned Toro mowers for probably more than 40 years. Typically, when spring rolls around I take the mower out, put in the gas, and off I go. If I do maintenance once every 5-8 years, it's all good. Toros are solid mowers. My son's Toro wouldn't start at the end of last summer, so I took it to Northwest. They said it needed a tune up. Got tuned up. Took it home, and used it a couple of times in October before the end of the season, then put it away. April rolls around, it won't start. Took it back to Northwest. They tell me it will be a three week turnaround. I can deal with that, it's the season. Two weeks in, they leave me a phone message to tell me it needs a tune up. I can't get anybody on the phone, so we have an awkward text exchange... Tune up? It just had one. What's wrong with it? No answer. I was out of town, so I decided to wait until I got home. I went in to Northwest to see what was up. The woman behind the counter seemed to be the only person there an was on what appeared to be a sales call. I waited about 20 minutes. Other customers came in as well. When she got to me, she found my paperwork and confirmed that my mower needed a tune up. I asked again, "What is wrong with it?" "It needs a tune up." "It just had a tune up in October. It was used twice, and now it won't start again, so what's wrong with it?" "It needs a tune up." "So, my mower is so crappy that I can expect to need to do tune ups every six months?" "We only guarantee our tune ups for 30 days. The mechanic just said it needs a tune up." "Have you done any work on my mower yet?" "No, sir" I still have a mower that doesn't start, but at least it isn't at Northwest Lawn & Power. read more

This place has a lot of history. My dad bought a lawn tractor from them in the 60s, I bought a Honda mower from them in 1994. When that finally died in 2022 , I bought a Toro from them. Nothing but good experiences. read more

Accidentally had gas put in the oil, they flushed the lawnmower changed the oil, spark plug and air filter. Made sure it was running properly and we had the mower back the next day. It was a great experience. read more

They wanted to charge $90 to look at our snowblower and said it would take 4-6 weeks. We had someone else look at it. The problem was a $3.50 spark plug, fixed in an hour. No labor charge. Think twice before using these people. read more

Can't be trusted to perform quality work and does not stand behind their work. Took my 3 year old Deere tractor in for annual tune up in April, tractor wouldn't start in September and they charged me over $500 to basically replace the same parts they supposedly replaced in the spring tune up, telling me it was just "wear and tear". (This tractor only has 100 hours on it and has had annual tune ups by Kipps, who was bought out by this hack company.) Then, 6 weeks later, it wouldn't start again. I refuse to go back to them because don't trust them to try and fleece me for more money for crappy work. read more

UPDATE: On my Google review they claim they called me and I hung up on them, They have pulled this "we tried to call you" multiple times. I gave them a 2nd chance and the results were the same. It's funny, they text me saying they tried to call, but other times they just say they tried to call. Unbelievably dishonest. I own a small lawn care business, Dropped off my main mower to have it serviced at the Lisle location and was told it would be ready in 2 weeks. That was over 8 weeks ago and now my backup mower is also down so I've been using my little one. Called to ask about it on Tuesday, May 27th. Guy I spoke to was kind of surprised to see it's been here that long and said he'd have the manager call me when she got in. She finally called me around 3:00pm just to tell me she'd call me back the next day. Most places take care of regular customers, especially business owners Next day, no call so the following day I was there before they opened to pick it up and take it to a reputable business and was told it was taken to their store in Itasca. I told them I wanted it back the following morning whether it was done or not. I had an edger there for repairs, so I cancelled that and took it with me. Got a call saying the mower was at the store and give them a call. I figured I'd just go in cause they're probably just telling me it's ready. Got a text at 4:30pm saying to call them. Get there before they open to pick it up this morning. It's still in Itasca waiting on an air filter. I can buy the fricking filter at Ace. You'd think that if there was an issue it would have been mentioned in that voice mail or text. Unbelievable. Next they said saying it'll be back in Lisle around 9:00am the next day, Saturday. Finally got it back and you'd think they'd offer something as an apology like money off, but nope, not even an apology. They also advertise maintenance for $209 including parts, but then they tacked on another $90 for labor. False advertising? I'll let the correct state agency determine that. I miss Kipps and I spent a ton of money there on service, repairs, supplies, equipment including mowers, etc.but I guess these people don't need the money. read more

I have been going to Kipp's for years to get my lawn mower serviced. This past year, Kipp's was bought out by Northwest Lawn and Power. Suddenly, it took 4 weeks to get the maintenance completed, they never called when it was done, and the price doubled. I will not be going to them from now on. read more

First time customer dropped off my mower they were really nice and friendly but that's where it stopped. After weeks the excuses started to come in every time I called. Finally after 8 weeks it was done or so I thought. Came home started to use it only to realize that nothing was fixed the problem I brought it to be fixed was not fixed.
