Did not listen or care about relevant medical history, seemed to have tunnel vision and became irritated at the patient for being low energy due to pain. We remained respectful throughout the interactions and continued to reiterate that we know it's complicated and they can't do it all, but would appreciate some guidance as young people new to the area. I am in utter disbelief at his lack of interest in providing--or even just pointing in the direction of someone who CAN provide--potentially life-saving treatment for a patient with serious internal organ problems. Very disheartening experience.

The situation didn't improve so we went to Tucson Medical Center ER at 4:30 p.m. yesterday. My daughter is multiply diabled. She was told that they would do a fleet enema and hydrate her. After waiting until 9:30, the procedure was started. It was somewhat successful and she was told that the staff would perform a more aggressive enema. So, she was placed in a private ER room at 10:45 ish. We waited and waited. I asked the nurse 3 times when the nurses would be in to attend to my daughter. Each time I was told that they were making their way through the patients and that the ER was very busy. The 3rd time the nurse told me that the team would be in shortly and that they had the meds ready for the second procedure. We waited and waited. A nurse came in and I mentioned to her that we had been in the private room for 2 1/2 hours waiting with no updates. She left the room. The doctor came in and said that there was a problem with communication between she and the nurses. She said that they had determined that there was no blockage and that my daughter would be released and she should do her own procedures at home-and besides they needed the room for other people who were much sicker than she was. All of this after waiting for 2 1/2 hours. She w as clearly angry. She sssuggested that she could give another enema and have my daughter wait in the waiting room and use the waiting room bathroom!! (which was also dirty) We made the decision to leave. Checked out and went home at 3:00 a.m. - after 10 hours of waiting and waiting. The ER was dirty and very cold. Curtains were torn, floors were dirty and vending machines didn't work. Had to ask for a warmed blanket while I was in the waiting room. Communication was very poor with both patient and staff. The doctor was clearly trying to get rid of my daughter going into detail about how sick the other patients were putting the blame on her instead of the poor communication that they have internally. We will never return to this ER. I will be reviewing the bill when we get it.

Hospice coordinator needs improvement.Bed linens- torn, ripped sheets were appalling. My sister was taken here because it was the closest ER. I can't recommend this hospital. A patient across the hall, on the oncology floor, fell out of his bed while I was there. . The attending MD chastised me for taking 3 days to pick a hospice facility. She basically told me (paraphrasing) ''Pick a place now or we'll remove her by Monday.''. We picked hospice on Saturday. My sister died the next day. Of course this review is somewhat tainted, due to my ongoing grief. However, facts are facts. Another patient fell out of his bed, they left an extremely bright light shine on my sister as she was dying ( I had to request they turn it off) They woke her up 3 a.m. to draw blood. And The bed linens and towels were appalling. As usual. the nurses were angels. Tell the EMT's to drive to TMC.

At approximately 0210 hours, as I was sleeping on the couch in the room I heard my mom speaking to a nurse. First my mom who is crippled and additionally just had surgery that morning asked the nurse for her food. Her request was declined advising she needed to go check. I thought nothing of it and attempted to remain sleep. I heard my mom request a nurse to assist her in alleviating pressure of her new surgical wound and sciatic nerve the nurse declined to assist her citing an issue with her shoulder. My mom also advised this same RN that she was still covered in fecal matter to which the nurse responded no you are clean. My mom begged the nurse to help her move in the bed for 15 minutes the nurse stood there hands at her side, stoic and unresponsive occasionally stating she couldn't because of her shoulder. She refused my mom care and support at least a dozen different ways before my mom began crying and begging for help while the nurse stood there stoic and expressionless saying nothing. I sat up on the couch looked at the nurse and said "my mom needs help, you need to call for help" my mom continued crying in pain. The nurse remained stoic , completely still, unresponsive, staring blankly at the wall. I continued asking her to get help she did not speak, move or budge except to state she couldn't do anything because of her shoulder. I stood up and asked the nurse her name. She remained still, stoic expressionless, non verbal, staring blankly at the wall. I asked six more times her name before she responded "I don't know what you want me to do" I ran out the room barefoot to find help. If my mom would have been coding she would have died. Our regular nurse Heather came in advised the nurses name who refused care was Alyssa. She also implied this is an ongoing problem with Alyssa and this behavior seems to be common knowledge by her. The tech Courtney implied similar experiences with Alyssa. We met with a charge nurse Elizabeth who confirmed this as an ongoing and very dangerous problem but the nurse supervisor would not listen. Elizabeth advised she would be sending the nurse supervisor Deanne who would hopefully take it more seriously hearing from a patient. At 0409, nurse supervisor Deanne showed up to my moms room with security. She was belittling, rude and condescending in her approach. I asked her one question the last name of Alyssa to file a complaint with the nursing board over her very dangerous neglectful behavior that by three separate accounts is a known and ongoing Problem. She refused, did not acknowledge any concern , refused to speak with me regarding the facts of the incident and instead treated us as though we are the problem. I only intended to file complaint against one nurse. But the nursing supervisor again stood behind this nurse , the very dangerous conduct and refused to provide the information while condoning this very dangerous pattern of behavior

I went in because a cyst had ruptured behind my knee and I was unable to put weight on that leg. Various tests were done. Then, while we waited for reports, I passed out. We were seated in a hallway, and my husband tried to revive me. He couldn't leave me, for fear I would fall out of my chair. Thankfully, a nurse soon came up; she tried to revive me, and when I did not respond, she moved quickly to get me into a room. No heart attack, but an artery had flattened, and my BP was extremely low. Dr. Joshua Paree was there, and my husband was very impressed with him. He moved quickly, knew exactly what he needed to do and did it. I began to come around while they were working to stabilize me. I received the excellent care I have come to associate with TMC, and I am very grateful. So many nurses, but I remember names of only two: Jenny and Miguel. We chose to stay on the line (because how do you schedule an appointment in an email), and after one full hour, we still hadn't moved up in the queue. Scheduling a simple vaccine shouldn't be this difficult. It's disappointing that accessing basic healthcare services requires this much time and effort. This experience has left me questioning the level of customer service and health care TMC provides.
