I have had to go to the hospital several times with my parents and my children, every single time I have gone to take my family members, the staff have been extremely attentive, the service is, for the most part, relatively fast as one can expect in a hospital ED that serves upwards of hundreds of people daily. I have gone to other hospitals in the area before without the level of care that I have consistently received at TMC. I will continue to come back time and again when needed the providers and the staff are great! read more

Our experience two days ago was not quite as stellar, for the first several hours, as on previous visits, but the hospital is undergoing some major reconstruction, apparently, so we made allowances for that. I went in because a cyst had ruptured behind my knee and I was unable to put weight on that leg. Various tests were done. Then, while we waited for reports, I passed out. We were seated in a hallway, and my husband tried to revive me. He couldn't leave me, for fear I would fall out of my chair. Thankfully, a nurse soon came up; she tried to revive me, and when I did not respond, she moved quickly to get me into a room. No heart attack, but an artery had flattened, and my BP was extremely low. Dr. Joshua Paree was there, and my husband was very impressed with him. He moved quickly, knew exactly what he needed to do and did it. I began to come around while they were working to stabilize me. I received the excellent care I have come to associate with TMC, and I am very grateful. So many nurses, but I remember names of only two: Jenny and Miguel. But all of them were so efficient and so kind. read more

TMC's customer service has been incredibly frustrating. I tried to schedule my second shingles vaccine, only to discover that it can't be done through the MyChart app. The app instructs you to call, but the phone number listed there is incorrect, so we had to search online for the correct number. When we finally called, the recording said they were short-staffed and suggested sending a message through MyChart instead. We chose to stay on the line (because how do you schedule an appointment in an email), and after one full hour, we still hadn't moved up in the queue. Scheduling a simple vaccine shouldn't be this difficult. It's disappointing that accessing basic healthcare services requires this much time and effort. This experience has left me questioning the level of customer service and health care TMC provides. read more

My father is admitted to TMC due to inability to swallow. He is 88 yrs old and now skeletal frail from in ability to eat. He can drink liquids. During triage a radiology test is ordered. The protocol prohibits allowing hin to consume anything other than ice chips until after this test. 24hrs later he us still in triage/ observation, and still no nutrition. He gets assigned to a room, but dtill no feeding of any kind. And still waiting for that radiology test. We find out, it's scheduled for TWO DAYS later. So my dad is being continuously starved. read more

My friend recently had surgery at TMC and overall the experience was very positive. His surgeon and surgical tech were excellent. They explained everything clearly and took great care of him before and after the procedure. The follow-up doctor who checked on him later didn't have the greatest bedside manner at first, but it did improve the next day, which we appreciated. There was a little confusion about the flower policy. I was told we couldn't give him flowers for a couple of days, but it turned out the restriction only applied to the surgical floor. I'm glad I didn't take them home before we could give them to him. Most of the nurses on his shift were wonderful. They were attentive, patient, and very supportive during his recovery. He was also happy with the kitchen overall, although they did forget his tater tots three times. Overall, TMC provided good care, and aside from a few small hiccups, we are grateful for the staff who helped him through his surgery and recovery. read more

My daughter was brought to TMC by ambulance with a severely dislocated left patella Wednesday night around 2300. They put her on observation for three days and an orthopedic surgeon finally came to see her around 1000 today. However, he was just a hand surgeon and knew nothing. They were going to have her stay till tomorrow when a knee doctor could see her. Now, I was just informed that no orthopedic surgeon can see her tomorrow. So, they sure are going to discharge her with the patella still dislocated No one there has any attention of communicating with her or us. read more

I went to TMC ER on Saturday and received the worst treatment I have ever experienced in a hospital. I arrived by ambulance in severe pain. My abdomen was hurting, I couldn't stop vomiting, and I was screaming because the pain was unbearable. Despite this, they made me wait in the waiting area. My IV dressing was coming off, I informed the staff, and although they took me inside, they still did nothing to help me, even while watching me vomit repeatedly and cry out in pain. I kept going to the bathroom because I would urinate while vomiting and needed to sit on the toilet. At one point, I had to lay on the floor because the pain was too intense. By then, I had already been waiting for almost four hours without proper care. A nurse named Olivia found me on the floor and yelled at me very aggressively, telling me I should not be on the floor. I told her I couldn't get up. She screamed again for me to get up. I asked her to please help me, and she refused. When I lifted my hands so she could help me stand, she grabbed me and forcefully hurled me into my chair, as if I were an object. I felt humiliated, scared, and completely alone. I called my mom to come be with me because I needed support. When she arrived, they finally started placing my IV, but then forced my mom to leave, claiming there was no space for visitors -- even though other patients had one or even two visitors with them. This made me question whether discrimination played a role in my treatment. While I was ignored, a white patient was immediately assisted, given IV medication, and properly attended. No patient should ever be treated this way. I genuinely felt like I was dying, and instead of receiving compassion and care, I was met with aggression, neglect, and humiliation. Besides, I was transported by TMC Rincon at around 5 am and was admitted for four days. TMC ER needs to seriously improve the way they treat their patients. This experience was traumatic for both my mother and me. read more

If I could rate this hospital a Zero I would. My buddy went in for signs of appendicitis. They confirmed the appendicitis and did not give him care in enough time resulting in a ruptured appendix. He had to wait roughly 12 hours after they had confirmed it. he was then transported to another hospital where he could actually get care for his ruptured appendix THAT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED HAD THEY NOT BEEN BLATANTLY NEGLIGENT. DO NOT SEEK CARE HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH AND PROMPT CARE. Nurses were unbelievably rude and disrespectful to the patients who are clearly having a hard time given that they are sick and in pain. Highly recommend seeking care ANYWHERE ELSE, if you do happen to need care here. Best of luck to you and Godspeed. You're going to need it. read more

My elderly sister was just released after being rushed to the hospital for a heart attack. After numerous tests and waiting for more tests, she was put into the waiting room after each test. She was left there well into the night and morning in a wheelchair. She was never switched to a room nor comfortable bed, never received anything to drink or eat for hours and hours. The worst experience of my life trying to get an appointment. Tmc doctor referred me for in house scan. Scheduling called some random wrong number and never followed up. I called doctor because of duplicate appointment and found out referral was never followed up. They told me to make appointment myself for a scan. I spent 2 hours today with 6 different people and finally got a scan scheduled for a monthth from now. I hope it is correct scan as they never told me what the scan was. All horrible people with 0 compassion. I hate TMC. read more

A 80+ parent spent nearly 2 weeks there and had 2 surgical procedures done. The co-ordination, information was non-existent. I visited nearly every day I caught a couple of doctors randomly, if you ever asked to speak to one or if after 3/4ish forget it they clocked out for the day. While there were whispers of a "Care Coordinator", which I suppose at board meetings looks good on a chart to plug a gap, but once you implement you have to go back and test it. In this case initial contact almost a week after intake then it was a couple of voicemails and nothing more. Really, I'd want my money back I would demand that visits are conducted is person, while there might be exceptions, but there would be no excuse that in this scenario and with amount of logistical detail that this should have been attempted via phone and then dumped. This is not just incompetence this is indifference this is checking a box for a performance review. Unfortunately, the entire stay was like this, he kept telling the doctor's they need to speak with me, my name and number were in the chart, on the wall in the room......crickets and every doctor had a different story which just confused him. The doctors left illegible or no notes for the nursing and care staff to decipher. Which was the only bright spot which doesn't surprise me many companies don't suffer when it comes to boots on the grounds its mid-management, management, administration is the disconnect. The folks that I encountered on a daily basis the nurses, pct's, and others doing the work and caring for the patients were all good people and killing it. Do better. read more

I spent 4 hours with my mother in the emergency room. 3 of those hours were wasted waiting for "transportation" to bring a wheelchair and discharge her. I'm not used to standing and sitting on a stool for 4 hours and my back was killing me. I asked the nurses if I could get a chair with a back, and they flat out refused. Someone with a conscience finally caved and brought me a chair. I was so angry at their uncaring attitude. read more

Both tmc one and tmc on grant are both not very good. the medical staff are not very qualified and favorite words "there is nothing we can do for you. both places love to pop you full of pills. that's their answer to everything. the nurses are decent but the doctors and the glorified nurse practitioner's are pretty much useless. they love to charge you and your insurance but don't do anything for you. I got much better service and help at saint Joseph hospital. read more

Adam Sandler wasn't wrong about this hospital. I went there for my lumpectomy surgery and everyone took such a good care of me that I almost didn't wanna leave lol. Only one complaint I have is about their receptionist. She had a very bad attitude when I asked her a question. Took spouse to the ER due to back and side pain and difficulty breathing, An NP incorrectly diagnosed muscle pain. We returned less than 24 hrs and experiencing added chest pressure. This time they diagnosed pneumonia. We then get billed a copay for TWO visits. We felt since it was less than 24 hrs for the same complaint, it should be considered a continuation of treatment and only charged once...But NO, they said they wanted both charges and offered a whopping 10% off the second copay. Totally wrong in my opinion, we will never go back to TMC . read more

TMC It's a large city sized hospital complex with approx 4000 employees on the ne corner of Craycroft & Grant road . I was told it was created originally for soldiers who were " gassed" during WW2 In the late 1940s ? Today it is a complex of many services for many varied needs, emergency , children, testing , surgery, & more. There are so many wonderful employees from medical to support staff , volunteers & more . With 4000 thousand employees , humans needless to say I've had great professional supportive services there . That said I've had some less than caring , unprofessional experiences there also . Considering the challenging new age of covid in the hospital medical field and world also I would end with a well used but not trite saying , TMC " thank you for your service". read more

I came in a couple of days ago with my child. A housekeeper named evelin was so nice. she complimented my hair and breifly chatted with me which helped me to calm down and feel centered. even gave me some water. the next day she was there again and gave me a purple hair clip when she remebered i said i loved purple. some time later we came into the hospital and she was walking down the hallway and helped us find the cefeteria. very lovely emergency kids housekeepr. the nurses were amazing too, very kind and quick to help when we needed it. read more

some of their policies re patient "care and safety" are outgrageous and Nazi-like. Without your permission they dump all your possessions on ur bed and take away whatever they don't like, then u sign an inventory list. But, most Upsetting and trigering are the sirens that go off if u leave ur bed or chair without permission, or if u just stand up. Try to get well in that environment! read more

ER care is fastest in town. If I'm there when seizure meds are due, a doctor orders them. I don't spend hours with my legs down causing my legs/ankles/feet to swell and increase my pain in them. Inpatient care is amazing too and menues are good also. read more

I must start by saying that I really love the care tha I received got from Dr. David Teeple one of the resident neurologists. He did a thorough investigation of an issue that was found during a visit to the ER. The rest is long, but I want people to know what can happen to them. The issue took place with the billing department. When I went for a follow up I was billed incorrectly, the copay with my insurance was $100+ more than any other follow up with any other provider that I have. I was not well at that time, so I paid the bill and realized later that it wasn't correct. When I called my insurance to ask why, I was informed that it was billed incorrectly. It was billed for outpatient treatment instead of a follow up visit. When I asked TMC billing why this happened, they told me that I went in the TIA clinic, and that it wasn't a follow up. Those rooms are for outpatient treatment. When I booked the appointment I was told that it was a follow up and that the doctor would order another MRI to assess the issue. That's what took place. No exam, just a 10 minute visit. The imaging was scheduled for 3 weeks later. After that he called me on the phone to give the results. After asking to speak to the head of billing, I was transferred to the manager of the billing office, Shenida. After a long discussion with her, and after she understood that I had already spoken to my insurance company, she told me that she would send the information to auditing, that she would keep me informed of how it was going, and that the excess would be refunded. None of that happened. Subsequent calls to her were ignored, and other staff told me that it wouldn't be refunded, that's the normal amount to pay for outpatient treatment, they kept saying. (There was no treatment at all, just a short follow up discussion). I've since received 2 separate bills for the correct copay from another company that handles Dr Teeple's office visit billing (there was no office visit, I was told to go to the TIA clinic for follow up)! So now they want this in addition to the other overcharged bill. As a result, I cancelled my upcoming follow up with Dr Teeple. It appears that I will need to look for another neurologist. It's a serious issue. I'm already stressed about it in the very first place, now I have to deal with this. They billing department is not organized, and definitely not going to correct issues, and I don't recommend them. read more

My sister gave birth here and her placenta was gone after birth. With all propaganda on the wall in the waiting rooms, and my young sister in the delivery room. WE SAW HER PLACENTA being packaged in sterile Tupperware and sent away. When my sister asked about her placenta, TMC said she didn't note anything and it was "trashed". In beautiful Tupperware ! We were told by our doctor to go to an emergency room for an eye injury BUT CALL THEM FIRST and make sure they had an on-call ophthalmologist. So called TMC and they said they had one available. When we arrived we asked them AGAIN and they said yes there was one available and were put in a waiting room for THREE HOURS. When the doctor finally arrived he told us they DO NOT have an on-call ophthalmologist and then sent us to UMC where I was successfully treated. TMC CHARGED ME a $202.50 emergency room fee even though they lied about their capabilities, and we had to pay it to secure our credit rating. LIARS and THIEVES. ZERO STARS!
