I have made donations to your facility many times and enjoyed doing so. Whomever I came in contact with, wether me bringing items to you or having the truck come to me for a donation. Today was a real disappointment. The driver was rude beyond compare. I opened the door to my storage unit and he immediately made an assumption. When I made the appointment I told the scheduler that I had 4 bar stools and misc. household items. I don't remember if I mentioned a chair. The driver took 2 of the stools and dragged them across the garage to the truck and never came back. i never saw him again. Those stools were bought at Wilson's a couple of years ago and are in excellent condition. Another individual accompanied the driver. She was very explicit as to what she would not take. I have an antique large wicker chair that she refused to take. Little did she realize that chair would have been worth her effort to bring it to the store. I am not accustomed to such rude behavior from your employees. As I said I have had many encounters with your employees outside and inside the store. Never have I been treated so rudely. Also the driver took the chairs to the truck and never came back I have a feeling he kept himself in the truck quite frequently and left the young woman to load. read more

H-for-H is an interesting store located on Cornwall Ave in Bham. They have used furniture, household items, tools, and construction materials - among other things. The store is well-organized, with the majority being taken up by furniture from various decades (and in various states of "previously loved"). Their prices start out pretty high, so you have to keep going back because they discount certain colors of tags. If you keep going, you might find an incredible deal on something - though usually by the time the tags reach the 75% off stage you're pretty much down to the dregs selection-wise. While I love a good thrift shop, their pricing structure keeps me from returning very often. I would rather just have things priced fairly to begin with, as they are at other stores. The new expansion is fantastic! Yes, some items overpriced but it goes to fund families dreams of home ownership. The success stories are featured throughout the store including the progress of the Telegraph Townhomes. Donations are always hassle-free and the guys helpful. This is a good place to donate gently used household items. There are some great deals to be had if you know what you're looking for and keep your eyes open. read more

Picked up a dresser here. Was cheap for a fully wood furniture that only needed a few cosmetic touch ups. They staff was friendly and even offered to help take it out for us. They offered a lot of low cost items that I wishh I had access to when I was in colllege/part time worker. Would recommend this to the poor budget struggling college student or the looking for a dyi antique remodeler. read more

We had a $900 Lane leather couch and footstools ready for pick up. It was covered with a tarp due to rain. The DRIVER'S ASST decided that it wasn't good to donate! Nobody even looked at it! The secretary looked at the pics and didn't understand either. So, they screwed themselves out of a good amount of $, because the driver's asst didn't want to look under the tarp. They employ lazy people who don't go the extra step, thus screwing themselves out of money I'll never donate to them again. read more

A great place to find gently used Quality Furniture and other household items. Items arrive everyday you never know what you might find here. A great place to volunteer also. I staffed their home show booth last spring and met many people who love shopping at the HFH store and who donate to it, several even donated their whole houses furnishings before moving out of it! It's well worth a look to see what's available at the HFH store. read more

I like to browse their new "bargain room" located in the back of their furniture showroom. I have been a thrift shop addict for years. I have visited this store regularly since it opened. I would have given it a five star rating but I am disappointed at their significant rise in prices. They have some reduced prices on select items on select days so you might find a "deal" if you follow their schedule. I still have fun browsing but rarely purchase anything since their prices have increased. read more

I'd never been to this store before , the one in mount Vernon isn't worth shopping at because the prices are near what they are new.! Stopped here on a hunt for a desk an found one for Cheap!! Marcus helped me to MacGyver it into my vehicle it took several attempts of different angles and he was very patient and helpful!!! Great young man with a helpful attitude! Way to go ! read more

Called twice about donating a brand new mattress still in the plastic..drove all the way from Blaine to Bellingham and when I arrived the dock worker says it's a $10 fee to donate a mattress..never was I told about the fee after talking to two different people..on two different occasions....the dock workers were nothing but rude and discourteous..smoking..and when we got upset about the drive down and the uninformed fee they threatened to call the police..maybe they should inform the people that answer the phones of the mattress policy..I will NEVER donate or buy or support anything to do with Habitat for humanity..I will say nothing but negative things about this organization.. read more

Wow, in my opinion an unbelievable store! Very friendly folks, and a surprisingly broad selection of high-quality furniture. They have recently doubled in size. Others have noted the rather fluid prices. Similar to Goodwill, items are color-coded, and one color goes on sale evvery day. I pIicked up a fusball table for $60, 60% off, in excellent condition. Personally I love to find a piece of furniture for 5 to 10% of the cost of a new item, and this place is stuffed with such bargains. My advice is to return often, watching the price. When they fill up the discounts increase. read more

I called to schedule a donation pick up because we were cleaning out a rental that was going on the market. The scheduled pick up was for Monday morning, instead I get a call Monday morning saying they wanted to know what all they would be picking up (I don't live there so I could only give a general description of household items and small furniture). I was told that they couldn't come and they were booked far out in advance. I was also told that it would be $100 for each trip to PICK UP A DONATION??? Far cry from my original call to schedule a pick up for Monday morning. I won't bother with this organization again. read more

I am a responsible citizen who actively serves my community in various capacities. Suffice it to say, I have been sworn at not just once but twice, by one of the staff at this store. I purchased items and went back with the receipt and the items could not be found. I insisted they must be there somewhere (which of course, they were, but the staff person could not find initially). I guess that justifies the employee being able to call me a "B...ch" multiple times. Senior management appears to care less about how customers (supporters) are treated. Anyone can choose to donate their items on behalf of Lydia Place, which allows their clients to be able to shop there and pick out the "new to them" essential household items they need when they finally get housing. I love this habitat location. I'm Canadian and this is the only habitat store I will shop at. Unlike other Habitat stores, prices here are very reasonable. The selection is great, things are constantly moving and if they don't have what you are looking for one day they most likely will the next. read more

We received a confirmation email that we were scheduled for pick up between 9am-12. We called them around noon asking when they'd be here since it's passed 12 now.. They showed up this afternoon around 2 instead. So we had to wait at home longer than we needed to and post pone plans/errands we had for the rest of the day. They arrived around 2pm. We had our couch outside and ready for them. They denied the couch because of a small tear and said they cannot except this. I didn't receive any expectations through email or on the phone about the furniture before hand. It had a small tear where I could of sowed up very quickly. They were no help and we had to carry the couch back inside and we are still deciding what to do with it since it is a nice comfortable couch. I'm definitely not calling the Habitat of Humanity again. The service was ridiculous. We're going to give this nice couch to the goodwill instead. read more
