So glad we discovered this cute destination restaurant and market! First off was amazing customer service, a great variety menu of smoked meats, plates, sandwiches, loaded potatoes and salmon (of course;). The smoker is onsite and all ingredients sourced from local farm or markets in the area. The owner Frank was very friendly gave some great suggestions even checked on us with drink refills. Such great service so rare anymore. We had the most amazing 3 cheese mac and cheese with Brisket the small was big enough! I'm so glad I up'd my salmon kiesh meal to also include the side of the salmon chowder. It was definitely the best chowder I've ever had, complete with flaked smoked salmon on top of a creamy and hearty salmon w/ potato soup. We were so full after our meal I would not normally order dessert. However, he did recommend that we may want to try his wifes amazing homemade carrot cake with the cream cheese icing (which I prefer over an overly sugary one) I am so glad we ordered a slice to go. I ended up having that for breakfast the next morning with coffee and it was out of this world so moist with crunchy nuts on the cream cheese icing. Yum! The cafe is located in downtown Chehalis, which is a cute town. They are completing updates to their 100yr old building. They have an upstairs loft with video games and a dozen tables connected to an artesian market downstairs, think gourmet foods, mead, craft items, fancy bloody mary mix, and they also sell smoked salmon, smoked cheeses in their cooler. Finally! After three years of living up here in Centralia/Chehalis we finally found an above and beyond! I think the name threw me off because it sounds like a seafood restaurant and I do not eat things that come from the ocean. But then I saw someone make a comment somewhere on an online post about this place and it's Mac and Cheese so off to Yelp I went to look it up. After reading the 30 something all 5 star reviews and their menu, I yanked my husband's arm, got in the car and beep beeped us straight there. What a gem of a place! We got to seat ourselves, plenty of open clean tables to choose from. We were greeted immediately with a friendly smile. I ordered a small mac and cheese with pulled pork and he got a smokehouse baker. We both got a side house salad. The food arrived quickly and it looked delicious! Then we dug in and it tasted better than it looked. Even though I got the small I still couldn't eat it all, it was a good sized portion. After we paid our bill via QR code, we looked around the shop they had set up inside. Local artists crafts, artisan snacks, cheeses and of course their smoked salmon for sale. I'm kicking myself for not buying something but I am not worried because we are already talking about going back! Just one thing to note, they are not a dinner spot, they do close at 5pm, 6pm on Friday and Saturday. It works for us my husband likes his dinner at 4. Thank you NWSS! Wow, this place is amazing!! We definitely could have shared meals rather than all 4 of us getting our own. I took photos of the boys food but I got the fish tater and my daughter got the pulled pork sandwich. Everything was excellent and they gave us lots of sauce options. Stopped here on a whim and will now be finding excuses to stop here every time I'm driving through Chehalis!! We were immediately greeted and got a full rundown of recommendations. We decided to try the tuna melt, smoked salmon panini, a side of chili, a side salad, and couldn't say no to trying the brisket mac n cheese. My husband and I had an errand to do down south (we live closer to the Seattle metro area) and we decided we'd eat while we were down there. Found this place on yelp and even though there were just 4 reviews, the pictures sold me. It's located in downtown Chehalis. Super cute and quiet location. It's not your typical restaurant because it's attached to what seems like a small market (which you should totally check out too!). But don't let that deter you at all. The food was amazing and service was just as great. We sat ourselves and someone checked in on us pretty soon after. Our server was super polite and gave his recommendations. I already knew what I wanted to order but after he suggested the salmon chowder, we couldn't say no and I'm glad we didn't. The chowder was so good we ordered another one to-go. My husband ordered a bratwurst and I got the Epic Baker. We both really enjoyed our food and not only that, the portion size was as humongous. Pretty sure mine could feed at least 3-4 people. After we got our food our server was very attentive and checked in on us multiple times throughout. Wish I got his name but he was seriously so polite. I posted pictures of our food on my social media and already had a few people asking where it was taken. Decided to drive down and give this location a try. Well worth the drive from Seattle area. First off the people were very nice and seemed laid back. Just what I was looking for on a rainy Saturday. I had a cup of coffee, the 1/2 Tuna sandwich and a cup of chili. I wasn't expecting the tuna to be a tuna salad, likely my bad. That said, I certainly wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was! But the real surprise was the chili. Wow! Excellent. I really recommend getting a cup of this. They also sell a selection of gourmet condiments, to which I did pick up a few. The food here is delicious! We had a daddy-daughter lunch, and ordered the macaroni and cheese with brisket. Eating with kids is a gamble because they get really picky so I only ordered a medium serving (which is still a generous portion) for us to share; to be honest I was planning on eating most of it myself.... Great new place in Chehalis! DELICIOUS chowder, and the side salad was nice with micro greens, chickpeas, sunflower seeds, and excellent grape tomatoes. My husband got the fish lover panini which was wonderful, and they even gave us a free sample of the pulled pork, which was melt-in-your-mouth. My parents tried the smoked salmon macaroni and said it was incredible. The service was prompt and friendly, absolutely no complaints there. The service was top notch, hands down, anticipating our needs so well we didn't ever need to ask or wait an extra minute for anything, yet not at all intrusive! The best! We ate in a cute little lunch nook where we could enjoy our conversation in a nice clean atmosphere. We had the Salmon Panini with coleslaw on the side. Both were fresh and delicious! The crunch of the homemade coleslaw and the pickle were excellent and the homemade pickled onions on the side were show-stoppers. The main course was sumptuous and filling. The mac and cheese with brisket was, too. YUM! We ordered a coconut caramel milkshake (home made and so incredibly good - like one used to be able to get from the dairy) and a kombucha (on tap) that was simply refreshing and light on the hot day we stopped in. The food was excellent we had the pulled pork panini grilled to perfection with house smoked pork and a combination of house smoked cheeses well balanced and came with garnish of pickle, sprouts and pickled onions.
