My friend got a huge veggie omelette, with country potatoes and a biscuit. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal. I got the French Dip with fries. It was tasty. Nothing "WOW" about it, but it was tasty. The fries were a bit on the soggy side. The waitress was friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has a nice gift shop area with some fun tchotchke stuff. The restaurant itself does needs an update. It's kind of dark and dusty. Not necessarily dirty, but it's old and could probably use a good, thorough cleaning. The carpets look well worn. Passing through the area and decided to pop in for a quick lunch. Overall had a decent experience. Would leave a 3.5 if I could. I had a Deluxe club sandwich and it was just fine. Just to Clarify: This is a YELP review for Country Cousin in Centralia! When speaking to management about a refund that has not been refunded after 5 days, I was given the cold shoulder. She was harsh and non-empathetic over the phone. I was given the brush off and told that the issue would take hours for her to resolve and she is off work at 2pm (my problem how?). My daughters card was charged by mistake. My daughter is on a limited income with special needs. This amount is well over $100.00 and a real concern to my family. My question is this... The inside is standard with booths and tables on one side and a lounge on the other side with a small gift shop stuffed in the middle. But the food was great! BLT was toasted perfectly with a lot of crispy bacon. A little skimpy on shredded lettuce but was still good. The hot turkey dinner was a full plate of several slices of turkey, big scoop of mashed potatoes, dressing and a tiny cup of cranberry sauce. All smothered in turkey gravy! My friend and I stoped here for a lunch on our road trip from Albany, OR to Seattle, WA. My friend has eaten here several times and enjoys their food. Food - I ordered the Pork Roast diner plate. The meat was very tender, moist and delicious. The cubes of potato & carrots were fork tender and also delicious. The slices of onion, in my opinion, were a little large but it was easy enough to use my knife to cut it in half. The gravy was delicious and not too thick. My friend ordered the pot roast sandwich. She also refilled my water once and offered to fill it again but I declined. She was very attentive. Ambiance - it is definitely an awesome step back into time place. The restaurant was very clean. Lots of open parking and easy access into the restaurant. The only downside to this place was there were no hand rails in the female bathroom stall. Been there three times: solo, with just the kids, and as a whole family. Each time I had superb and caring service (they're great with kids). As for the food ... so good. Some of things we've had that have all been good: Chicken Fried Steak and a Patty Melt (two of my favorites), Cheeseburgers, Mini Corn Dogs, Chicken Strips, Turkey & Potatoes Dinner). The ladies at the front door were smiley and friendly. Our server, possibly due to being in a rush, was a bit brusque, yet everything was accomplished as needed. My friend ordered the meatloaf, drenched in gravy, and enjoyed that. I ordered one of the salads and found it rather uninspired. Dessert was apple pie for one of us and berry crunch (cobbler) for the other. The pie slice was very generous.
