If you know us, you know we live for a good dive! It was a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty scarce. There was a large group when we first got there but they headed out and it was just us a few others. Classic dive on the inside and a nice bartender as well. This place is a true TAVERN. No hard alcohol, just beer, cider, wine, seltzers. Prices were incredibly affordable - four drinks after tip was only $25! The beer garden area is chaotic and I mean this in the best way. Exactly the type of beer garden I wanna see at a dive. There was a ton of space out there too! The ONLY gripe we had was that the smell of the fryer was extremely overwhelming. Normally it doesn't bother me much but it was SO strong here so we opted to sit outside because just being in there to order gave me a borderline headache from the smell. Truly was a great find! We're never in the area so it's unlikely we'll return, but we definitely would if we found ourselves here again.

My husband had the NY steak and said it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Lastly, the building is quite beautiful with the exposed brick interior walls. I'm not familiar with the local history so I'm curious as to what this building was originally? So Bad It Was Almost Comical…read more My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our drive from Oregon to Seattle. The parking lot was completely full, so after circling around and eventually finding street parking, we figured the place must be popular. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the high point of the experience. The main restaurant was fairly full, so we were seated in a large, dark bar area in the back. And then... nothing happened. For more than 30 minutes. Eventually, a waiter appeared and took our order. Then another 30+ minutes passed before the food arrived. Somehow, even our iced tea didn't make it to the table until the food did. All told, we spent roughly an hour sitting at an empty table without so much as a beverage, and about 90 minutes from the time we arrived until we actually had food in front of us. At that point, the whole experience was becoming almost comical. We ordered a cod burger with fries, a Caesar salad, onion rings and an iced tea. The cod burger was okay. Nothing memorable, but edible. The Caesar salad was actually good. The fries, however, arrived cold, soggy and thoroughly greasy -- quite an accomplishment considering how long we waited for them. The onion rings apparently embarked on a separate journey altogether, because they never arrived. By then, we'd lost the will to ask about them and just gave up. The grand total for one cod burger with cold fries, a small Caesar salad and an iced tea? $40.00! We mentioned the long wait, forgotten food and other problems to our waiter. He was sympathetic and explained that they were short staffed, which we understand can make things difficult. But being short staffed doesn't make a 90-minute lunch, no drinks for an hour, cold soggy fries and forgotten food any less disappointing -- especially at those prices. By the end, we weren't even angry. The whole thing had crossed over into comedy. Needless to say, on future drives between Oregon and Seattle, we'll be finding a different midway lunch stop.

It was delivered this morning as it is each morning, the proud owner told me. The meats and cheese stacked high and were all sliced fresh today.
