The beauty of this venue shines so bright. Everyone attending said this was the best wedding venue they've ever been to, and I would have to 100% agree. We booked with Ivory North for venue & photos before it was finished and I don't think I've ever made a better decision. April and Blake's love for each other and their family is so reflective through their work and truly draws them apart from other wedding vendors. In my job experience, I work with a lot of different brides and wedding vendors, and EVERYONE had nothing but amazing things to say about them. If you are even considering getting married here, you actually need to get married here. Don't bother anywhere else. It's worth the drive to Mora, I assure you. Shoutout to Ryan for running the operations day of and being so accommodating to our needs for the wedding! He was a fan favorite from everyone and definitely eased a lot of the random little concerns that come up on the day of. April and Blake, thank you again and again for coming into our lives and making our day so incredibly special. I cannot thank you enough!

In the main dining area, there is a stage for bands. We walked up to the bar which was full but found a spot to squeeze in. The wine tasting area had several wine servers behind the bar. We waited for quite some time before a wine server greeted us and asked us what we were interested in tasting. We asked what was offered as far as wine tastings as it appeared there were a couple of different wine tasting events taking place. She looked at us with confusion and asked what we were interested in tasting. We read about the cheese and wine pairing so we said we would do that. We asked about each of the wines and she put the wine & cheese sign with descriptions in front of us and asked what we wanted to do. She couldn't really explain the wine herself. Again, confused why she is asking that since it's 5 wines with a 5 cheese pairing, We said we will just go down the list. She brought us complimentary wine glasses and poured the first wine. She also handed us cheese on toothpicks we all had to figure out how to grab from her fingers. Perhaps a plate or napkin? We waited for about 15 minutes before she came back and she looked at us and said no one is helping you? We thought she would but I guess not. We proceeded down the list, jumbling the cheese on toothpicks, and waited for the next tasting but we were forgotten once again. It took a while but we made it through the tasting. I'm a red wine person but the red wines were sour in my opinion. I realize this is WI and not CA or France so obviously the wine is different. We did buy a couple of bottles of their Pony which is a Rose as well as the ale Crescent. We wanted to purchase a couple of the different cheese that we tasted but they didn't have any to purchase. The venue is beautiful and a great place for events. The wine servers definitely need training in how to service guests and learn about the wine. Also, no one wants to eat out of someone's hands. At least provide napkins they can hand the food to the wine taster with a napkin. .

The house layout was great for a medium-ish groups: two bedrooms on the main floor, a loft with a couch (and room for an air mattress), and two bedrooms downstairs. We had a group of 12, which I'd say is probably the max, a few people ended up sleeping on couches and I'm not sure how comfortable they were. The indoor pool was such a highlight! We spent most of our time there. It's heated, has Bluetooth speakers for music, and even a projector (though we didn't end up using it). There were plenty of floaties, and it was a great space to relax and hang out as a group. The pool could have been just a bit warmer, but we went in the spring when it was still a little chilly outside--I imagine it's perfect in the summer when the sun warms the space more naturally. Parking was super easy. All 12 of our cars fit in the driveway with no issues, and the house was easy to find. A few small cons: * Since we visited in spring, I'm not sure the place had gotten its full seasonal cleaning yet, some of the windowsills and the area outside were pretty dirty. * The fridge was a bit small for a group of our size. Definitely bring extra coolers, especially if you're stocking up on drinks. * There's no recycling available. We ended up bringing all our recycling home because we didn't want to throw it in the trash.

Now we will hit on beverage service, $6 for a 12oz can of beer, $9 for an 8oz cocktail, no water at tables but there was a small jug at the bar that was constantly empty. Temp control is another issue but to their defense it is an old barn. The barn itself is super spacious, plenty of room, I loved the wing area, which was perfect for the dance floor space. The food/catering/bar service company were all very awesome. Food was very tasty, servers were very professional and the bartenders made it a fun evening! Plenty of parking with a beautiful walk up a ramp leading into the barn. There is also this gorgeous outdoor patio with a cute fireplace outside, this was great for people to find another place to socialize throughout the day. Having a bridal suite and groomsmen room onsite was also a huge plus. Both had lots of space for everyone to get ready. I highly recommend you to check out Bloom Lake Barn to host your wedding or event!

There is a lot to do here and some of it is more experiential than most locations with games. They had laser tag, for instance, which the kids just loved. They had dodge-em cars which were very popular as well, but the games were not as good as we have experienced at Dave & Buster's in Edina or at the Burrough out in Victoria. Their game card is very confusing. You buy a $50 card, but it only has 25 points on it. But it gives you unlimited use of some of the experiential games. So we wasted a lot of time upfront trying to figure that out. Front desk staff was helpful, but in general, the supervising teenagers there were aloof and just doing their jobs. They have a small grill and the food was surprisingly good. My husband had an excellent hamburger with french fries and the kids and I each had small individual size pizzas which were very good. I asked the kids to rate it while we were in the car and they gave it five stars. But when they compared it to Dave & Buster's, they gave it no stars to Dave & Buster's 10 stars. I give it overall four stars and I'm taking a Star away because the bathrooms were dirty and 3 out of 4 bathrooms none of the water was working in the sinks so we couldn't wash our hands.
