When you enter it has a consetions stand with popcorn and drinks and I believe it also has ones with alcohol but don't take my word for it as I only drink soda. It has various events throughout the year, so for example years ago on Valentine's we went there to watch the princess bride. Anytime it has something I think I'd watch, i get tickets. Pricier than the cinema for plays but the production values make it with the admission price.

It's a beautiful location with great staff and food! Although they served crab as an app, they were not opened and they only provided folks- how are we suppose to open the crab to eat it?? Also, steak with no steak knife- even the most tender of fillets needs a steak knife! Deducted another half star for this. This is a lovely event facility, beautifully decorated and they used the space well for a good size wedding event. Just some small issues that could easily be ironed out to make this a 5 star venue!

Their original furniture shall not be touched, as evidenced by the ropes gently blocking one's way. Other furniture, you could not only touch but even sit up on, as they were replications. It wasn't the largest estate I've visited - the top floor was also off limits - but it was amazing to realize that this place was a relatively recent acquisition by Historic New England portfolio.

One of the staff members was awesome and let us sit in front of the couch to take a picture with the Christmas tree. (They rent out the space for filming & photoshoots. There are bathrooms available for visitor use.) It offers both guided and self guided tours. There are two floors open for visitors and a large front porch where they have rocking chairs in the summer to see the view. There are also walking trails that go through the estate. It will look spectacular with the fall leaves.

The outdoor area is covered by a large tent and there is room for vendors around the perimeter which adds ambience to the day party. The indoor bar area is exactly what you would expect from an old school pub (dark wood, beige, and close quarters) and the bathrooms could use a lot of updating and regular upkeep when a big event is taking place. I would have a party here, but if they want to elevate this as a wedding venue, there needs to be some major renovation to the pub and the restrooms (specifically the ladies room). There's a little footbridge to cross from the parking lot to the actual space which is actually kind of fun for pictures and feels like you are on a little adventure. I can not speak to the service (other than the bar...pretty typical experience...not enough bartenders for the crowd indoors...outdoors was a bit better later in the evening). The food I have had in the past is provided by third parties, so I can not make any comments about the venue's food supply.
