Haven't had any issues with the store opening times lately, but I would still recommend calling ahead just in case. The old reviews on this place are outdated. Since then, they've opened up another room to the side, which helps a lot because of the small amount of space. With this, they have also reorganized so that finding a game from any given system is much easier. The owner is, in my experience, very helpful, and not super pushy. If you're just browsing, he won't hover over you, but if you have a question he is quick to address it. He is reasonable in his prices, though his knowledge of the products is mostly limited to their market value unless it's something he has personal experience with, which is to be expected. They have also expanded their inventory recently to include comic books, Pokemon cards, and Yugioh cards. To whom it may concern, the entrance (thanks to the Town of Rockland) is not wheelchair accessible, but if I remember correctly it's only two steps, so if you have someone to help you, you should be fine. read more

Called them looking for a last minute Christmas gift. Very polite on the phone. They went and looked for my item and found it and told me to swing by. When I explained I was stuck at work and my 75 year old father would be picking it up and has no idea what the item would be they said "no problem".. .They held it and helped him out." The owner is super helpful & personable!! It's a smaller location but is filled with a TON of nostalgic games I grew up with. Compared to other locations in the area, Nostalgia Games has one of the best selections of GameCube games BY FAR. Not a lot of places have "Sonic Adventure 2", "Simpson's Hit and Run", "Monkey Ball 1 & 2", and "Super Mario Sunshine" all at the same time. It also has a pretty big and diverse selection of wii, Xbox (original, 360, and one), PlayStation ( original, 2, 3, and 4) and gameboy games. Lots of retro pieces as well. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this store. First, the store opened a half hour late. We called the store before they opened to see if anyone was inside to open the place, it was so late. Turns out he had "errands to run". He was overly apologetic, which is nice, but it would have made all the difference in the world if he opened on time. It would have made us, his potential customers, much less annoyed coming in. Second, the man that runs the store took his mask off while I was in the store with my son. It was off for a few minutes, until I had to ask him to put it back on! He said he needed to take it off to talk on the phone. Seriously! This is no excuse, especially during this point in the pandemic. His mask was shabby and loose on his face anyway. It looked used, which is gross. Third, I asked if they had any Animal Crossing stuff. He told me no. I look up and there's an Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch right in front of me! It was five feet away from him, in a big, colorful box. I pointed this out and he just shrugged. Thanks, man. The store WAS packed with games new and old. That's the only reason I'd even give this store one star. Lots of variety. Too bad the man running the establishment isn't as cool. And if you care about the pandemic, as I do, avoid this place. No one should have a mask off for any reason when running a business, or anywhere else but in your own home, these days. read more

I only went here once and it was open. It was a boy and a girl and they were moving an AC unit and the girl was asking for help which I did. The owner lives in the same building as the store I think which maybe why the other reviewer said they are never open. They thanked me and said they would give me a little discount if I bought something. They had an okay selection. Prices were the same as Ebay or more in some cases and I was never offered a discount if I bundle games. The layout was very hectic they just had games all mixed up in piles and only the very expensive stuff was laid out for you to see. The whole experience seemed sketchy I went with a friend and he said the same. It seemed like there was a personal argument happening right before we got there and we interrupted them. They did not seem to be paying much attention to what we were doing. The owner left with his gf I believe and another girl was behind the counter, she didn't work there so when I asked prices (nothing was priced besides expensive stuff) she had no clue. Lastly when I went to check out and I mentioned him taking a few bucks off cause I helped he looked at me like he was only joking. He took $1 off and then I paid cash and he charged me tax on that so it worked out to be a wash. Sort of sad this place is like this there is no competition for retro games in the area and would love to have someplace local to check out. read more

Called to confirm hours. Was told open at noon. Drove an hour and half. Got there and it was closed. Called and called getting no answer. Went and got lunch and had some drinks with a friend. 2 hours later as I'm going down the road to head home, I see someone opening the front door. The place was horribly unorganized. He didnt have a screw driver to show the game was real, and he seemed to not care about doing business at all. Will never go back. read more

I went to this place a month ago and I feel that I have to forewarn people about how bad the experience was. Trust me, I don't enjoy leaving such reviews at other's expense, but it has to be said. I went here with my fiancee and her son since he is a big gamer. This place looks like a gamers dream come true and I am all for supporting small businesses. First off, don't expect to go in as the store opens. the reviews that the owner is lax about opening on time are true. he was 20-30 minutes late. He was apologetic when I called him while we are waiting. Next we get in and we are in a small shop and my fiancee politely asks him to wear a mask. The owner snidely replied "well, I'm on the phone." I know people aren't happy with COVID protocols and have their own opinions, but I should mention that I am a heart failure survivor and thus at risk. Also the owner seemed very surly when my fiancee talked to her after that. Next my fiancee's son bought a game which was scratched and unplayable. I don't know if we could get a refund but we are too disgusted to go back. On paper, it looks great to see all the old and even vintage games and systems at this place, but I would recommend going elsewhere before throwing down your money on anything especially some of the more high end items. read more

This place is NEVER open when the posted hours say it will be. I've wasted 3 trips there now when the posted hours (12:30pm is when they are supposed to be open) say they will be there; and its ALWAYS CLOSED!!! Don't waste ur time and gas to go here. Chances are there will be no one there, and if there is, the prices are higher then eBay. How hard is it to open doors by 12:30pm??? Lazy and rip off artists here. read more

I don't know what this other guy is talking about, I've been here a few times and he was in the store, and the prices are totally reasonable, definitely not a "scam artist". I would assume you would think enough to call and make sure he was in after he wasn't there the first time? (its just one guy running the place, god forbid he had an emergency/obligation) As for the owner, he seems to really know his stuff, particularly old and obscure gear. On top of being a funny, inviting guy, there wasn't one game/system i mentioned he didn't know of. there's enough variety to satisfy casual gamers and aficionados alike. If your looking for anything video game related, especially vintage and or obscure stuff, definitely check this place out. It was worth the drive for me. read more

While going for a walk around town Saturday, my Grandson found this little gem of a store...They have all kinds of games that are out of date and not sold in store anymore...Awesome prices and lot's to choose from. The owner is very helpful and nice. Great find! read more

Called to see if they were carrying something. Phone line was not even open until about 2:00 even though it says online they open at 12:30. Then they finally do pick up and a person tells me they're opening at 3:00. Show up at 3:30 and they're fucking closed. Embarrassing customer service. read more
