Solid spot for a good homestyle breakfast. I had the Monster omelette which was prepared perfectly. The ingredients in the omelette were cooked perfectly with the veggies still having a little texture and snap. The hash browns were cooked exactly how I like them, my only regret was not requesting fried onion in them. The sour dough toast was also very tasty. Overall great experience. read more

We came here for a girls morning brunch and it was delightful. The service was fast, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for friends and family to get together. We were seated quickly, our food came out hot and fresh and was super fast but never rushed. I got a breakfast mess and the hash browns were seasoned and crispy, the eggs hot and yummy with some cheese. I will definitely keep it in mind for future visits! read more

My guest and I ate a late lunch. My beef sandwich had an inordinate amount of fat and gristle. My guest had a turkey sandwich with stuffing. The stuffing was so strong in sage and salt the was pretty much all you could taste. As I was packing up my leftovers the was a 4 inch piece of string. I showed the server and she pretty much blew it off and said she would tell the cook. We paid our bill and I brought the sting up to the counter. Asked for the manager. Out server intervened and said she already talked to the cook. The manager never came out but told them to tell me it was fat. Sorry guys. 70 year old who managed food service for a long time. I have eaten at Not Justa cafe in Somerset and New Richmond. Both are great. Food is like home cooking or better. Staff are amazing. Love the set up. Ambiance is great. Meatloaf was as good as any I've ever had. Green beans were fresh didn't taste frozen. Chicken fried steak awesome. Breakfast is amazing. Have never had a bad meal or bad service. read more

A local café with all-day any-time breakfast, lunch, and dinner - 3.5 stars! Not Justa Café has 3 locations: New Richmond, Somerset, and Bayport. Plus, the Bayport location has a bar and a catering business. GOOD: 1. The food is good. This isn't chef made stuff. The chow is mostly basic small town café fare with a few unique twists and some humorous names. 2. You can get breakfast, lunch, or dinner - anything on the menu - at any time. Nice! 3. Prices are super reasonable. A meal here won't bust your budget. 4. The food comes out SUPER fast! 5. The service is fast and cheery, lots of smiles and jokes. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: 1. Our server made a bunch of mistakes. Mostly, she forgot things, despite the fact that there was only one other table in her area and she wrote everything down. For example, she forgot one of our coffees (but she remembered the other one), she forgot the Irish Cream creamer, she forgot the peanut butter for the English Muffin, she forgot the whipped cream on one of our two desserts (but she remembered the other one), and last but not least, she forgot a spoon for the ice cream and she brought a fork instead. What??? 2. The desserts (apple crisp & blueberry pie) were supposed to be warmed up but only one (the pie) was warmed up. Why would you ask if you want it warmed up and then NOT do it? My friend sent his crisp back for some heat but it was still cold when it came back the second time. If you can't push the right buttons on a microwave, you have a problem. 3. We got a new server halfway through our meal. But there was ZERO communication between them. She asked the same darn questions over again. Silly. 4. All of this service stuff is easily fixed and a matter or training & management. No big deal. Still, it happened and it was a little frustrating. If they cut down on all of the silly screw-ups, I'd call them 4 stars. 5. As a side note, I asked 3 of the employees what was going on with Pete's Pizza, if they're still open, etc. None of them knew anything. I don't understand how people can be so completely clueless about what's happening with another restaurant only a block or two away. I drove there after lunch and I got an answer in less than a minute. And I don't even live on New Richmond. I live over an hour away. Weird. We did it again, drove to New Richmond for a wonderful breakfast at Not Justa Cafe. The drive was well worth it, our breakfast was good as usual and we left there ready to take on the rest of the day. Stephy was our waitress and did a very nice job of taking care of us. Normally I would always make my reviews based on the food first, however, it was only 20° outside which is not uncommon in the winter and this place was freezing inside. Everyone was sitting with their jackets and stocking caps on. How can you possibly enjoy breakfast when you're freezing your a** off. Otherwise, the staff was great but the food was just very average for breakfast. I had a meat lover's omelette, French toast and coffee all of which were very blah, fine but blah. I wouldn't come back here even if the dining room was at a survivable temperature. I can't wait to get to my car and warm up. read more

After a rained out golf game, we called to see if they could accommodate 18 us. Yes. We arrived to a set up table and a very nice waitress. She was quick to get coffee, water, juice and other beverages. Although the kitchen must have been a bit overwhelmed, the food came out quickly and all were quite impressed. Large portions and very well prepared breakfasts were devoured and made for a happy crowd. Reasonable prices and a great waitress - who was working on her birthday. What a breath of fresh air in a local, tired industry! It was breakfast but the food was amazing. The signage was entertaining to the extent some photos were taken. What captured my attention was our server Stephanie. Sadly, we have accepted transactional customer service as being just "good". Stephanie blew the doors off of transactional customer service by effortlessly providing transformational customer service! She has a "serving heart" which is something you cannot teach. Cute place, good food! I have been wanting to check this place out for a while because I honestly thought the name was cute, haha. I came here with my daughter and waited to be seated. Probably the only negative part of my experience. I sat there for about 2 minutes while three girls sat there chatting and was neither greeted nor acknowledged until the waitress came to seat me. They have a good sized menu without being overwhelming. We ordered the pancake with scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and hashbrowns. I was skeptical of the $5 price tag that came with a single pancake but wowza! Im pretty sure I will be making three meals of it. It is HUGE and absolutely delicious as were the hashbrowns and sausage patties. The eggs were okay, as was the coffee. My waiter was a really nice guy, so thank you Jerrid! We went for breakfast and I had the most delicious, homemade corn beef hash! The price was under $10 and my plate was FULL of corn beef hash, scrambled eggs, sausage, and an english muffin I couldn't of asked for a hardier breakfast. Our waitress was so good (which surprised me because she's so young) I commented to my husband that you don't see many real good waitresses out there anymore. The somewhat upscale exterior misleads you about the quality of the food. I expected something other than average-poor diner food. I was there late on a sunday morning and they had been very busy. The staff didn't bother to greet us, just walked to a table expecting us to follow. I ordered the Eggs Benedict which was a daily special. It came with fried rather than poached eggs, very undercooked- the whites were runny. I had to return it, which I don't often do. If you are a breakfast place, you need to at least be able to cook an egg. I told the waitress that Eggs Benedict is standard with poached eggs. She told me they did not have the equipment to poach eggs. Honestly, if you don't have a pot to simmer water and poach an egg, don't make Eggs Benedict your special, in fact, don't open a restaurant. I don't mind greesy diner food if I know what I'm getting- this was just bad. read more

The place was not bad, but not great. When we entered, we could tell they were busy since we had to wait a bit to get seated. Which is totally fine. They acknowledged us and were nice when seating. The server was just as busy, but greeted us cheerfully and was prompt on getting what we needed. The place was clean. I'd say the main reason it's a three star is the food. It was your basic diner food. American cheese on the burgers and hash browns. The cheese curds were more breaded and the fries were not terribly, but again not great. It was a convenient spot to grab a bite from some errands that were being done. I'd eat here again if I was out this way (about 30-40 min away from home). read more

Problem is that it is just a cafe, and it's not a very good one. Still not sure of this place. I've been here a few times. It's full of your typical regulars and sometimes flies. (But, they have big doors, so that must be tough to manage.) Food is mediocre. I usually just get the breakfast. Service is pretty slow and usually understaffed. Coffee is decent, but overall it's getting visited by default. They are really the only ones doing a halfway decent breakfast in town right now. They used to have an insane breakfast buffet, but I believe that was under old ownership. I would say match more to what the Bayport version is and you'll be getting a better review. I've tried to come in and work there while having breakfast, but their wifi never works. read more

Well, this recent addition to a family owned a chain was absolutely wonderful when they opened up a year ago. Now, it's just average cafeteria food. If you're looking for plain Jane American food, with little to no spice, then this is your place. Never never never get the SOS plate. Really shit on a shingle, and it is awful. My friend and I absolutely could not eat the meal. It was despicable. Since that meal, I have gone in numerous times for a late lunch, and it was just average. The service really varies by the person that you get. The best meal I've had here is the bean soup. read more

Cute patio and friendly service but truly the worst food I have been served in a long time. I ordered the steak sandwich and it came with a "Brie" sauce. The only flavor to it was salt and way WAY too much of it. The steak itself was over cooked. The beans served with it were canned, (who serves canned beans?) and the garlic mashed potatoes were dry. They were open. That is about all I can say for good about this place tonight. We ordered the poutine with fresh cheese curds and got fried with no cheese left in them because they were so over done. The fries were a dark brown and tasted horribly old and burnt. We asked for cheese sauce on the side of the steak tips and it came covered in sauce. The meat was most definitely not steak tips and was barely chewable. On the other hand the two drunk patrons at the bar seemed to be having a good time hanging out and not "staying at home" also no one was wearing a mask, which I know is optional, but in my opinion it shouldn't be. This location in at 850 N Knowles Ave, New Richmond, WI 54017. If I could give a zero star, I would. To start, we had two families going for breakfast. We called ahead to reserve a large table for ten. They did accommodate our request. When we were seated they took our drink orders and as they dropped off our drinks, we ordered our food. They asked how we wanted our bill split. All was good until receiving our orders. Now I am only reviewing our families experience and there may be another review of the second party. Once the orders came in, my daughter wanted over easy eggs and got well done. I received two Meat Lovers Messes and only ordered one. My wife ordered oatmeal and didn't receive it. The waitress reordered my daughters eggs and placed an order for oatmeal. She said that she wont charge for the second Mess, which I didn't order. We agreed and waited for the corrections. Meanwhile as everyone was almost done with there meals, my wife finally received her food. Everything looked good with her oatmeal but since everyone else was finishing up with there food, she felt rushed and only ate a few bits. The waitress came over to ask if everything was good with her oatmeal. My wife responded that its fine but came out late and everyone is getting ready to leave. My wife asked if she can at least get half off her oatmeal. The waitress said that she would ask her manager. When out waitress returned she said no on the half off. My wife asked to talk to her manager. My wife talked to the manager calmly and told her the situation. The manager still refused to compensate anything and was very rude. We mentioned that we come here often and never had issues like this until now. As things started to escalate the manager continued to be very rude and said that "we don't want you back and to leave. After the manager walk off. Now, may I mention her meal was only $5.00 and $2.50 was not a make or break deal. It is just the principle of it all. We came in for a meal and received poor service at the end. She was unable to enjoy her meal and wanted compensation for her meal. I will not go back and do not recommend this establishment. As per my request, I would hope for an apology for the disrespect and service. read more

First off, Stephanie at this location has personality for days! She has a very playful banter and I very much enjoyed her service last night! Food portions are great, prices are very reasonable, and the diner feel is charming. The only slight downfall for me was how salty the french onion soup was. I know it typically is a saltier soup, but it was heavy on the NaCl even for me, a salt lover. It wont stop me from returning, I'll try and make it in for cream of mushroom soup day because that soup of theirs is amazing! Thank you for the awesome service, Stephanie, you're great! read more

This place is awesome. The staff is so friendly, the food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the price is fair. If you have an issue with snark or sarcasm, then you probably won't like they decor or the attire of the staff. However, if you enjoy that kind of thing (I think it's hilarious) then this place is great. If you like hot tea, ask for the tea list. You won't be disappointed. :) read more

We just came here on Saturday morning for breakfast and even though they were busy as hell, everything was fantastic. Not fancy- just great food and service. This place is full of humorous signs and the staff all wear T-Shirts with funny, sarcastic phrases on them. Our waitress (Stephanie) was so friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I ordered the Hot Turkey sandwiches, which are served open faced on fried crispy bread with turkey breast & gravy. The fries were delicious- homemade. The prices were beyond reasonable. It was a bit over $30.00 for two dinners and two mammoth glasses of Merlot. I am very happy we went. The next morning, we decided to go there again for breakfast. My boyfriend said his Eggs Benedict was the best he'd ever had in his life.
