Food was great service was good it was a little packed so it did take a little while but not too bad, They only take cash though.

Friday fish fry (or shrimp) is good. Great small town diner. Breakfasts are always good here.

1 Mexican omelet. Sourdough toast. Extra crispy hashbrowns. Homemade jam. 1 make your own omelet. Pick 3 items. I picked smoked sausage, bacon, & mushrooms. Raisin toast. Crispy browns. 2 coffees. The raisin toast is the bomb!!! You can just smell the raisins and cinnamon! Nice amount of cinnamon. Real potatoes, not frozen. ALL the bread and doughnuts are homemade. Not only is this town off the beaten path, so is "Main Street" which you very well could miss it if you didn't know it was there. So I'm not usually writing a review on my first visit but this place needs to be celebrated. Don't get me wrong,there is nothing bold or exciting about it, it is just good people making and serving a good solid breakfast. And since breakfast is my favorite meal of the day (happy hour is a close second), I had to write about it. This restaurant is one of those places that when you first walk in, it feels good. It feel like an old sweater. It was busy but we were given a nice hello and were able to sit right away at the counter. As you looked around you could tell that some of the utensils had been switched out to reflect the holiday season. This was quintessential mom's greasy spoon but without all the grease. As we sat at the counter, we could kinda see back into the kitchen. I had ordered the Southwest Hash with home made chorizo. My potatoes? They were getting hand-diced. That's some love right there. When is the last time you had hand-diced potatoes? I've had them with a can crusher style machine for fries but never hand-diced. By the time the food had been cooked (one cook, doing up all the breakfasts so you may as well relax and enjoy yourself) I was ready to feast and I was not disappointed. The sunny side-up eggs were perfect to allow the yolk to ooze through the potatoes. The home made chorizo had a nice spice but wouldn't knock someone down. But seriously, before I started eating it, the look and the smell of the dish made me so happy I decided to give it a siracha smiley face. But that jam. That jam was the JAM. I mean, you knew it was homemade but I had to ask about it anyway which made our server smile. She said it varies and depends on what she the owner feels like making. That day they were serving up a jam made from raspberry and peaches. It was so good I finished mine AND my lady friends. The place also offers take out. You need a cup of Joe to go? They have cups for that. It also looks like they make their own donuts and what not. There was also a thick banana cream pie sitting on the shelf which looked amazing! Unfortunately/fortunately(your pick) I was full from breakfast so dessert may have to happen next time. It also looks like they do a fish fry or something on Fridays as that is the only time they do dinner. This place otherwise is breakfast or lunch only. We stopped here on our way driving through! Really close off of the highway. The diner was quaint and gave a warm home feeling. The breakfast was yummy and just what we were looking for! The restaurant was only accepting cash when we went, so we went into a local bar a block away to get cash from the ATM. The staff was really friendly and very attentive! read more

Now this place is like stepping back in time. You walk in and there will be a table of local farmers having their coffee and "talking shop". We sat at the counter and were immediately greeted and given menus. We asked for decaf coffee which was just Folgers Decaf but the reasonable prices and delicious food made up for it. The omelettes are delish and highly recommended by all who were sitting in our vicinity. We always like to ask what is the best breakfast in their opinion. It's a good idea to take the advice of the locals. There was only one cook which makes it hard to have a quick breakfast so don't go if your a clock watcher/or have to be out by a certain time. We took a slice of banana cream pie to go. It was good but I still like the pies at Next Door Cafe in New Richmond a little better. If you like that old time diner feel this is your place! read more

This cafe is worth the stop off of I-94! Food is extremely good and a great family run small business. I went with a friend of mine and unfortunately we didn't get there in time for breakfast, but we had their lunch sandwich/burgers and it was one of the best burgers I ever had. The environment is very nice and feels like everyone there knows each other and have a real midwestern feel. Everything was fresh and made to order. They will only accept cash or check, no cards. You don't feel rushed and you'll feel relaxed. Before you head out, I highly recommend you get some of the baked goods they have for sale (it's very cheap!) so you have snacks for when you're back on the road! read more

If you like breakfast, you could not do better than Robert's Cafe! Everything is fresh and made from scratch- bread, sausage patties and especially the jam for the homemade bread. Corned beef hash was spectacular and eggs are made perfect to order. We will definitely be back! read more

Went there on Friday for lunch. Menu is limited, but what they do make, is done right. I ordered the fish fry which came with fries and coleslaw. I asked if the coleslaw was fresh or if it came out of a tub. The waitress assured us it was fresh and they just make it this morning. My wife ordered the reuben sandwich with fries. Fish fry came and Batter was light and crispy and great. Fries were hot and fresh. Wife's burger was hot and well seasoned. The owner even came out and talked to us for a bit. She was very nice. Best breakfast restaurant in roberts, hands down. Family owned and operated had been since I've been coming here. Hours are limited for that reason but you won't go wrong coming here for breakfast! If you're hungry see if you can tackle "The Usual." I will not clarify what is in this meal because it's a local tradition that you order the meal and just feast your eyes on the meal I front of you.
