Such a cute place when it comes to atmosphere! They have a tool box as a counter for straws and such. They were super nice and friendly, but also so quick! I don't think I've ever gotten an order so fast! And my drink is amazing it's a turtle drink! I don't live in broken arrow but I may end up driving this way more often to stop in!

From the title alone, I have to give this coffee shop more than 3 stars. What can I say, it's Not Your Average Joe. Finally, there's a legitimate coffee shop for the Ascension St. John Broken Arrow and the nearby medical offices instead of cafeteria generic coffee. Yet, somehow the lobby was empty in the early morning. But thanks to this, I got a large cafe latte for the price of a small. The sole worker at the coffee shop told me right away as I placed my order. I think he was trying to get more business for the shop. Hopefully, it'll pick up more business as the coffee is good and the place is lovely. Love this little coffee shop.

Today, we took our grandson, Maddux, to Not Your Average Joe coffee house. My husband and I ordered our favorite Salted Carmel Frappe with espresso and whipped cream. Maddux ordered the hot Turtle Latte (coffee with chocolate, caramel, and hazelnut). Craig, the owner was happy to see us and shook hands with Maddux. The barista who took our order remembered seeing me in the store earlier this month and said, "It's so nice to see you again. Thank you for coming back." The tone of his words was so genuine that my heart filled with happiness. I asked him his name. "It's Brady, like Tom Brady, only I'm more handsome." "But you're not as rich," said Craig, as he was making our frappes. "But I'm rich in friends and relationships," Brady responded grinning. Craig said, "Tell them your story, Brady." Brady explained that he used to work in construction but was in an accident. "I shouldn't be alive, but I had a lot of support from my family and friends." He acknowledged the Lord's help in his recovery. Brady said he loves his work and the people he works with and pointed out what a beautiful day we are having. We were all smiling when Craig handed us our order. I was influenced by Brady's exuberance for life today. After four years of feeling aimless, I decided to stop grieving the loss of work that retirement took from me and embrace the new opportunities this gift of time still offers. When I came home, instead of taking my usual afternoon nap, I finished reading a book on how to sell artwork and set out my paints again. Thank you, Craig for bringing "accept-ional" people into my life. I cherish the way you all accept me when I come into your coffee house. It's certainly not your average joe!

One of my favorite coffee shops in Tulsa the customer service is always so welcoming and personable but the coffee is amazing as well as what they stand for just overall such a great coffee shop with great flavors and such a great ambiance.

I absolutely love NYAJ. The employees are always super kind and the coffee has never been a miss. I got a bagel today for the first time and it was phenomenal!

I was the first person in when they opened and I loved the atmosphere when I came in. The barista was so polite because I have never been here. He recommended the turtle and I got it half sweet which was so wonderful for me since I don't drink super sweet coffee. The double chocolate muffin was pretty good and he warmed it for me, too! Music is awesome and the space is well lit and clean. Private lot is nice and clean.

Not just a coffee shop. Employs people with disabilities. Pros: in front of St. John's Hospital there's a small sign advertising this coffee shop. On a whim, my friend, and I stopped by. since coming here, I have told four other people about this place. the coffee was really good. Due to allergies, My friend often modifies her orders. The cashier and the barista double checked their work to make sure it exactly as ordered and free of things that would make my friend Ill. The service was great! So sweet and friendly. We'll definitely be coming back here. They sell pastries and other products (canned jams, salsa, t shirts, etc.). Cons: no drive through, but I think it could be intentional. Drive through are chaotic and fast paced.

My wife and I LOVE this place. We love how clean the facility is, how friendly ALL of the staff are, and how good the coffee is. We use their beans for our espresso machine at home and have 0 regrets. We love the company's mission and the over-all atmosphere of this place! Highly recommend you stop by if you need a smile

I was in this part of Broken Arrow, and stopped in to get a coffee on this Saturday morning. Upon walking inside, I was greeted by the sweetest employees. I ordered an iced Turtle Latte (which I highly recommend), and the employee stated they were giving out muffins so I let him choose one to box up for me. I thought that was so kind and thoughtful! There were other customers sitting at a table, and the employee brought them out a warmed muffin to enjoy. The entire interaction was just delightful! Needless to say - the service here is amazing, and the coffee is too! Additionally, the location is very convenient to the highway and there's plenty of parking right out front. I'll be making a stop here whenever I'm in the area! read more

I loved the name and the logo and the coffee cups. The staff was so great. I was greeted by both of the workers and while my latte was made, the cashier rang me up. It took me a minute to find this place even with google maps. The sign is very small. I liked the vibe and before I walked out, the barista told me to try my latte and he would make another if needed. It was perfect. Seek this one out. It's great coffee for a great cause. read more

I try to go to smaller coffee places when I'm traveling. What a blessing it was to stumble upon Not Your Average Joe in Broken Arrow! It's the cutest little place. The first thing we noticed was the smiles on the faces of departing customers. My (grumpy in the morning) husband said, "Well, that lady looks happy with her purchase!" Along with a delicious drink called Dragons Breath (or something similar) with spice, orange, and chocolate, I also got a delicious dose of kindness, courtesy, and joy. My barista made sure I loved my drink before I left since I was trying something new. When's the last time you received that kind of service? read more

I'm visiting from Phoenix and definitely don't know my way around Broken Arrow, so I googled coffee shop near me and randomly selected Not Your Average Joe. When gps, had me turn left into a medical complex I was like, "what tha...?" I found the shop easily and was blown away. First of all, it's a non-profit coffee shop that's supports and employs people with disabilities. Their T-shirts are emblazoned with "accept-ional" followed "including people with disabilities" and this place, the coffee and staff are freaking accept-ional! Isaiah was my barista and Brady took my order. Both were totally professional, friendly, and to be honest, charming as hell! I talked with Brady for a while about the mission and founding of the non-profit that runs this state wide chain. His belief and appreciation for the mission shines brightly and I left feeling hella inspired!! Every time I'm in town...I will come back. That's a promise! read more

Their sign isn't up yet, but it is on the left once you enter the Emerson Orthodontics building. Everyone was very friendly. My husband got a hot latte, and I ordered a Java chip frappe. Both coffee drinks taste great. My husband had to wait a little before he could drink his hot latte. I wish my frappe had slightly more ice. read more

Visited this place based on reviews, and did not disappoint. Owner was extremely friendly, coffee was GREAT and they're anon-profit who employs special people, so why have YOU not tried them yet in Broken Arrow, OK. We enjoyed our coffee and the atmosphere was wonderful. Our servers were top notch and the friendliest baristas you'll ever meet. I got the "latte that shall not be named" which had a butterscotch flavor to it and it was great. I highly recommend. I just wish I had a pic of the cool hand colored cups they gave us. I forgot to snap a pic. read more

Some people working, some people socializing, but not crowded or loud. It's in the burbs but feels quiet and plenty of parking. Menu- my almond orange latte was truly life-changing. I will be trying to recreate this at home for sure. Not sweet but lots of flavor. The espresso here is excellent, not sour or bitter, very smooth. The blueberry muffin was truly the best muffin I've had in my life, and I do not say this lightly, I am quite picky about muffins. Fluffy and moist, the blueberries were not mushy. And the jalapeno scones was shockingly good and it was even gluten free. It was more similar to a shortbread in texture, which I preferred over a scone actually. Very buttery and tasty, not spicy if you're sensitive to that. It was $17 for these items, so higher than expected, but spot on for unparalleled quality. Friendly service, and very fast. Can't wait to go back, this place is just doing everything right.

I had the ID's... the veterans immediate family, spouse, kids,etc ALL SERVE and SACRIFICE. We love their coffee, but will no longer do business with a company that appears to be patriotic, but when push comes to shove, the $$ was more important than respect. It's a sad situation.
