I wanted to bring in something to my work place that was gonna be more impressive than bagels or just regular donuts in that pink box. I'd heard of Nothing Bundt Cakes, but used to think of it as a Mom and Pop kinda of operation, but I find out on the website that they're nation wide and have 1000's of stores! I find they have one near me down here in Chico, so off I go. Easy enough to find and there's no line! I see a whole case of bundt cakes from big to small. I think small so we get to try a few flavors. They all have this weird frosting design on top, like some kinda spider reaching down ... well, at least that's what it looked like to me. I got the smaller sized ones for around $5.00 ea, in Lemon, Strawberry and white chocolate raspberry. I get them back to my work place and first prob is how to get these cakes out of the tightly sealed plastic cases they come in without wrecking the cake! I get the tops open but then what? turn it upside down and then the frosting design will get messed up if it put it on a plate like that. I gotta use a knife and pry it up off the bottom, not easy! and then carefully get it to a plate with out messing up the cake ... sort of messed up a few, but thought that counts, right? The taste was OK, not spectacular gourmet delicacy, but mostly for me waaay too sweet, especially the frosting ... I got me a good sugar rush ... no kidding! Gimme come coffee to go with the rush! Others seem to be impressed and happy that I just didn't bring donuts. I dunno, $5.00 bucks each when you think about it, is a little steep for what you get, but I suppose someone's gotta make a profit. $50 bucks of good will I guess, goes a long ways in my business. read more

I've heard about Nothing Bundt Cakes forever but never thought of them when it came to a quick grab for a birthday treat. I got an advertisement in my IG saying they were having a BOGO and had a friends birthday happening in 2 days so guess where I went? Yup! I might as well try one for myself to see if they were worth a second, third or forth visit right? Since I had never been to one of their stores, I took a drive just to check it out, see what they offered and check out the flavors. I'm a very "plan it out" type of chick and had to make sure they had my friends fav flavor (strawberry). When I arrived there were two other customers looking around, and the girl behind the counter was welcoming and helpful, which was good because I had questions. I planned on waiting until the day of my friends birthday to go back and get the cake (mini bundts so cute!) because I wanted a freshie fresh one. I asked about the BOGO, she honored it and said just tell who ever was working when I came back about the IG ad I saw and it wouldn't be a problem at all. She then directed me towards a sample table that featured two different yummy cakes as well as their flavored popcorn. I tried one piece of the chocolate cake and knew that was it, for sure that was my BOGO. All around very pleasant experience, I left excited about going back to grab the cutest lil cake ever. On to the following day, I arrived again and someone else was working. I explained my IG BOGO offer and instead of honoring it as the girl didn't previous day, she was quick to respond with, "No, we're not offering any BOGO deals right now". Umm... YEAH, yes you are honey. I again explained the girls response the day before and still she wouldn't honor it. She said, "The best I can do is have you sign up for our members club and on your birthday you get a free cake". Ummm again, NO that's not going to work. Was she serious?? I stepped outside of the store, got into my IG and luckily had liked the ad so I found it fairly quickly. I took it back into the store, showed it to her and told her I wanted the advertised deal, it was on their IG page and it was specifically happening between certain dates (which I was in line with) and IT WAS VALID whether she was aware of it or not. It did not specify anything about "signing up" to be a member, it just said "stop by and buy one get one" yet she insisted that I had to go through the process by getting on their website and filling out the form and then showing her the filled in form afterwards, in order to get the BOGO. What should have been a 10 minute walk in and walk out turned into a 45 minute back-and-forth, in and out, educational lesson with me, teaching this employee about specials that were happening at her store that she knew nothing about. After all that she FINALLY agreed and gave me what I should have gotten initially. The take away? The little mini cakes are super duper cute, and they are really, really delicious. However, if you're going there looking for any deals you find online, make sure that you have a screenshot because clearly some of the staff is absolutely clueless while the other half of the staff knows exactly what deals are going on and will honor them. Four stars for my experience the first day and for the perfection of the deliciousness of the cakes. read more

First off, i absolutely love the cakes here and i used to love coming here, I've never had any problems until the last two times I came. I dealt with a gentleman named Keith who I believe actually owns the franchise which makes things 10x worse. I couldn't believe the disrespect that came out of this mans mouth on both occasions. On the first occasion, it was how he was treating his employees I could hear him berating them as if he were Gordon Ramsey on Hells Kitchen, I felt genuinely embarrassed for them to have to take that in front of paying customers, I tried to tip the guy at the register and his eyes got big and Keith came over and rudely told me they were not allowed to accept tips and that he pays them enough. On the second occasion I ordered a Red Velvet cake for my nephews going away party, I got it home and they had given me a carrot cake. When I called down there to rectify the issue Keith basically told me that I was wrong and I had ordered a Carrot Cake and absolutely all sales were final and he didn't care if he lost me as a paying customer. People like Keith should never buy their way into customer service positions. I urge anyone to think twice before putting money in this mans wallet. read more

The owner Kieth is a complete POS. To witness the way he talks to employees and customers is just embarrassing. We used to order several bundtlets on a monthly basis but I just can't support this business after seeing the way this man(I use this term loosely) treats people. What people don't understand about a franchise is they are also a small hometown business and owned by local community members. The one negative reviewer obviously went into NBC with the intention of tearing them down for an ulterior motive. (I'm sure anyone reading that review can figure out the reasoning for the amount of time and effort they put into such negativity) I'm glad we have people in Chico like the owners of NBC that have personally invested so much in our town's future by bringing such a wonderful business here! Not a lot of people out there would spend their own time and money investing the up front financial obligation needed to make our city more appealing by bringing in a respectable company. NBC has quality and consistency in their products and the employees are passionate and kind. I'm impressed every time I go in. You have no idea how happy I was to see that we have one of these in Chico! Upon entering I was greeted by the staff as well as the owner. Everyone was very friendly! Coming from the Bay Area we have these all over and my sister also works in one. I am very familiar with their cakes, cute tid bits that they sell and the quality and care they put into their cakes. I did not hesitate to grab a chocolate chip as well as a white chocolate raspberry (my favorite). Give these guys a go, you won't be sorry! read more
