We decided to try Schubert's since we were staying across the street at the Quality Inn. I got the huckleberry sundae with sweet cream ice-cream and Hubby got a brown cow (root beer and vanilla ice-cream milkshake). The ice-cream was delicious! The staff was all very helpful and super friendly. They were making sure everyone received attention as soon as they walked in, answering any questions and filling requests for samples. They have a variety of ice-cream flavors, chocolates, candies, and ice-cream sandwiches. For sure a must try in Chico. The space itself is small, but there is seating outside, to enjoy your treats. read more

After watching the Oscar nominated short films at a local nearby theater, my dad and I made our way to Shubert's for a late night sweet treat. He ordered two scoops of mint chip in a waffle cone while I ordered two scoops in a cup. I decided to try their Rocky Road and their salted caramel. The flavors were decent, but there were several large pieces of ice in my scoops which really messed with the texture. With all the rave reviews, I had higher expectations as to the quality of this ice cream. read more

I Scream, U scream, We all scream for ICE CREAM!!! When in Chico, CA you must stop by and try the seasonal flavor. I love a good homemade ice cream. I was trying to look for places that make small batch ice cream that is local. They have some great flavors for fall, including a pumpkin and an apple flavor. That ice cream was extra creamy, and a very smooth consistency. It did say that the extra churn it, which gave it that silky smooth taste. I had the pumpkin pie and let me tell you it tasted like a pumpkin pie. Got it in the homemade waffle cone and it almost tasted like a crust. Highly suggested that you check this place out and get you some ice cream. read more

Shuberts is a cute little local ice cream and candy shop in Chico. They have a ton of flavors of homemade ice cream and various chocolate treats to choose from. After sampling a few flavors, I opted for the cookies and creme ice cream in a cup. It was delicious and a great way to cool off from the heat. Parking is easy as they have their own lot and it's within walking distance to great shops. Lots of places to sit out front to eat too if you'd like. Hidden gem off side street and edge of downtown and across from Quality Inns. Was in Chico a few months back and tried their Root beer and black cherry ice creams. Both were delicious! They also sell their own chocolates but I did not get the chance to try any. Next time for sure! Love the retro posters of past local events inside! Friendly service and operating safely under Covid guidelines and restrictions. They do have a few tables outside along the sidewalk if you want to sit but most people took their ice cream to go and walked off into downtown. read more

I've been coming here since I was a little kid, so around 30 years and it is one of the best ice cream shops ever. Their original Chico mint flavor is my favorite, and I get it every time I go. They can get a little busy, but their staff is always friendly and quick so the lines usually goes fast. There's a few benches out front if you want to sit and eat, and parking on the street or in a lot. Definitely give it a try if you're in the area! read more
