Noura Cafe exists at a place where there is not too much variety as far as Middle Eastern eateries, and it is so nice to see this place full during lunch hours. Full of business people or full of stay at home parents meeting their friends for lunch after a tennis match. They also sell their own bread and sell a selection of goods for people to take home. I was very impressed with the food and I am looking forward to trying the raw kibbe when they have it as a special. The space is clean and is pretty roomy, they had an adjacent room blocked off but they probably use it as a private dining room for bigger parties or an overflow room. The two people you see on the menu are the two people you see on the register and the counter. It is so nice to see owners still putting in the hours in their own shops. They are also pretty well known by all of the customers! They proudly serve what they have and give great customer service. We were there for take away lunches and had 4 orders. As one order was coming up, one of the sides had fallen off of the box and the owner insisted that we wait until EVERYTHING was re-made, not just the side that fell off, and they even offered us free dessert snacks. The food I ordered at Noura during my first visit (which will not be my last!) was truly delicious. I'm kind of obsessed with hummus and babaganoush (and anything containing tahini!) and theirs did not disappoint! I've never been a big fan of stuffed grape leaves, but decided to take a chance and -- wow! -- they ended up being my favorite part of the mixed platter I ordered. The the meat and rice filling was perfectly seasoned. The tabbouleh was the best I've had -- lemony deliciousness, heavy on parsley and light on bulgar. What an amazing find! Yelp steered me right to the perfect lunch spot with friends yet again. Service was amazingly fast and super friendly. You start the dining experience by getting acquainted with the menu options and checking out the fresh salads in the deli case. Everything looks so wonderful, it could be difficult to choose. I selected the falafel sandwich supreme which included perfectly seasoned and fried falafels topped with hummus and tabouli packed in a fresh pita. This amazing sandwich is a vegetarian's dream packed with so much flavor. Since I am not a vegetarian personally, I also ordered the kibbeh appetizer. These big bites of ground meat and onions in a cracked wheat crispy shell were so tasty and filling, we could not finish them even with the shared plate. The greek salad topped with grilled chicken looked so delicious, I am definitely putting salad on my menu for next time. Finally I enjoyed my lunch with a beautiful white wine while others had a good middle eastern beer. Overall such a pleasant dining experience, we cannot wait to return. read more

This is the first time I have had Noura, and it was delivered to me by Uber Eats. I have grown up eating Mediterranean food, as I have family via marriage from Egypt, Lebanon, and Greece. Noura isn't the worst I have had in Jacksonville but... it's far from the best. The humus is lack-luster, it tastes bland, there's nothing there. Maybe my batch they forgot the tahini. The grape leaves (Dolmades) were dry and had a fishy-ness about them. The Lamb Gyro was... cafeteria Greek. The Kibbeh was soft, soggy, and barely spiced. The Tabouleh was really good, as were the French fries my wife got (strange thing to get right.) and their pita tastes and feels like Hala Bakery Pita which I imagine is where they get theirs. I can not comment on the atmosphere as I did not eat in, and maybe my experience was poor do to travel time, or them knowing they didn't have to try when no customer is present. I always give places a second chance, so Noura owners, if your reading this, I hope it's better. read more

This is one of my favorite go to places. The owners are always welcoming and warm to their customers. I have never had a bad meal here. The food is always fresh and you can taste the love that's put into each meal. I have tried pretty much everything on their menu and it's all been delicious! My go to meal is usually the falafel with tabouleh and hummus. I come here a couple times a month for lunch with my co workers. I stopped by Tuesday, 5/12/09, and the place is still spotless, even though it was busy after the lunch rush. The kitchen is up and running, and running very well, it would seem. The owners were still friendly and gracious. The days special was pot roast. It smelled great, but I had to have a camel rider. Yep, they got 'em, but really, there are better reasons to dine here. My dining companion had the eggplant, served with rice and, of course, pita bread. Very good. Don't confuse Noura with all the other Syrian/Lebanese/middle Eastern sandwich shops around town. While they may serve some similar items, Noura is the Cadillac shop. They are a bit pricy, but the quality speaks for itself. For the above reasons, I'm bumping Noura up to five stars. Today was a bit cold and dreary. As soon as I walked into Noura's that all changed. The hot specials of the day were stuffed eggplant, stewed chicken, and baked lamb shanks. We've been to Noura Cafe twice, both times dangerously close to closing time. Whereas most restaurants will turn you, and your money, away, the owners graciously welcomed us in to have a seat. I am fairly familiar with Middle Eastern food and I think the daily specials are a great way of diversifying even further. Everything we've ordered we've liked. It is easily apparent the food is made fresh to order, however, that doesn't mean it is slow to arrive. Take the idle time to look through the store items. My grandmother invited me over for lunch and grabbed lunch from Noura's which I had never had before. She picked up a tuna salad and tabouli pita. Tuna salad it not something I normally would order for lunch anywhere b/c I typically don't like it. It's either too dry or has too much mayonnaise. I have to say that this was one of the best sandwiches. I really enjoyed everything about it. It'll be hard to try something different when I seek out Noura's on my own b/c when I find a dish I like I tend to stick with it but I'm curious to see what else Noura's has up its sleeve b/c I'm convinced it'll be just as good...if not better. read more
