I'M SO TORN...I got waxed by Alaina. She's AMAZING. The service was AMAZING. The location was AMAZING. The place was clean, tidy, cozy, friendly & warm but the wax itself was only so so. She used lavender hard wax, which is way safer than traditional wax (not as hot & there's no fear of tearing) but not as clean. But I have tons of baby hair. My mom called me a monkey when I was born. Sad but true. I'm trying to grow out my horribly thin eyebrows so there are two giant holes, which is completely not her fault but when I came home. It just wasn't as clean and my eyebrows weren't as defined as I wished it to be! I moved to Denver last April from San Diego. San Diego is riddled with places that do Brazilian waxes and I had found a place there that I loved, the prospect of finding a place in Denver was... a bit daunting. I took a chance on a Groupon for Nouveau Wax. I made an appointment and honestly, since my first appointment I haven't even bothered to look anywhere else, I was that happy with the experience. They had me at, "this is only going to take about 15 minutes." I started seeing Ashley, who was great, but then she moved. So now I go to Krista and she is great too. She's friendly, fast and I'm always happy with the results. I really like that you can book online too, I tend to be the kind of person that might forget that I need to schedule another wax soon, so it's awesome to be able to pop online and see what Krista's availability is, the reminder email you get for your appointment doesn't hurt either. This just makes life easier. Cost is about average to what I've seen on other websites and what I was used to paying in San Diego. To me, it's a good value. Thanks to Yelp and the excellent reviews I decided to try out nouveauWAX and I was not disappointed. I called on Monday morning and asked about the happy hour special which is a 15% discount on your services. The deal is you have to drop-in during happy hour (2-5) or book an appointment the day of for those hours. I did just that. My bikini wax was the best, easiest, fastest, most thorough and most comfortable wax I have ever had!! The wax didn't even feel hot but it was still incredibly efficient at ripping out those little hairs. I didn't cringe when the wax was pulled off - how did she make it hurt so little?!?! I have been to places where the wax burns it is so hot and you brace in anticipation of the ripping off but at nouveauWAX you don't have to worry about either aspect. The waxing was thorough - and I mean thorough!!! She even trimmed the remaining hair. The price was perfect. I have never been more satisfied with the price and overall results of a waxing! Thank you nouveauWAX. The ladies that own nouveauWAX are incredible at their jobs and they are very friendly and sweet. I don't usually get anything waxed but after having my brows waxed in Hawaii for a friend's wedding, I figured $20 a month budget to get my bushy brows taken care of is only the right thing to do. Yelped this place and saw good rating so figure I'd give it a try. I was impressed from before I go there. I got on their website, got myself an account, and set up an appointment all on there. A website that is simple and works, I personally think it's key. Drove over after work, have a little hard time finding it since there's no sign out front facing the street. I called and Alaina answered and patiently helped me find the place. Well, actually, there's a sign but it says "Space Available". It still took me a little bit to find the place since first I saw Lotus Massage, then a Lawyer's office, then a CPA office, before seeing Nouveau Wax at the end of the hall. It's distracting when you're trying to find the place, that's all I'm saying. Alaina was super nice, chatting and laughing the whole way while she's working. I like that, otherwise laying on that bed/bench with a super quiet lady will make me think she's trying to steal my kidney and sell it on some black market. The waxing job was fast, clean and comfortable. I didn't know how sensitive my skin was until when I got my brows waxed in Hawaii and my girlfriend told me after "oh this lady did a nice job, your brows didn't look poofy." She remembered a wax job 5 years ago when my brows were poofy after waxing. So to my pleasant surprise, this was even less poofy than my recent wax job in Hawaii! By the way, I got a discount with their "happy hour" promotion, so the brow wax only came out to $12.75. Happy index +2 Only thing that left me wondering is that when I had my brows done in Hawaii, the lady helped me fill it in a bit after with brow shadow so it's ALL done. Not sure if most waxing place does that or if it's just one place but that made me feel extra special. I found this place while on the road running errands. I had a Christmas party to go to the following day, and according to yelp the salon was nearby and still open. I called while on the road, and the Technician who answered said she would wait for me even though they close one hour earlier in the winter. She was happy to stay and gave me helpful directions. I went here for my first brazilian wax and Krista was amazingly nice and welcoming! She made it not awkward which was great because I was a bit uncomfortable dropping my pants in front of a stranger! The wax itself was not nearly as painful as I thought and she did a great job! She talked to me and was asking questions the entire time so I had something else to think about. After reading the reviews I made an appointment online. I accidentally typed in the wrong address into my nav and ended up way far up Colorado. When I called, Krista was amazing and said come by and we will make it work. When I got there she was incredibly professional but the best part is that it was about the easiest wax I have ever had. I know, I have written a review on the wonderful waxing service this place offers. But today I would like to write about the eyelash extensions. I was going to take a mini vacation with my boy to Las Vegas. I had tried the glue on eyelashes before and well the glue on's didn't work for me well- ending up with glue all the way up to my brows and cock-eyed looking lashes. I have been going to Nouveau for a few years now and I had asked Krista about it before. I trusted her with no questions asked. Although it did take a little bit of time, Krista made me feel very comfortable during the entire process- I was able to doze off for a bit too. The finished product was amazing! I stopped using mascara for a week and I had never gotten so many compliments on my lashes before, people asked what mascara I was using and I happily said I had eyelash extensions done by Krista at Nouveau Wax :). It has been almost 6 weeks. Some of my eyelashes have shed (like they normally do) but they still look incredible, just this week someone still asked me about my lashes! The maintenance is fairly easy and Krista gave me very good instructions on how to care for my lashes, she also called to follow up and said she was free to answer any other questions about the care of my lashes.
