We recently moved so needed to change the lock on our front door. We called Nova Locksmith based on his high Yelp reviews. Alex lived up to the reviews. He communicated clearly on when he'd be available, and then managed to show up even earlier than promised (and called in advance to ensure we were available). He was polite, professional and friendly, and wore a mask throughout the duration of his quick visit. He offered sound advice on the best kind of keys to use for copies with our particular old lock, and he adjusted the mechanism and judiciously applied some WD-40 so that the whole mechanism is now working far better than it was before -- not expected but much appreciated. Definitely a five star experience that exceeded expectations. And great that we now know who to call whenever we need a locksmith! read more

Had a medical emergency with a friend who needed me to bring him pain medicine but I left the apartment so fast to respond, I left my keys at the apartment and didn't have my back up copies with me. Came back home and realized the problem and decided to wait for apartment manager. After 3 hours of waiting at my apartment door, I realized he may be out of town. I was concerned that I also might have left the keys at the pharmacy which would be hard to get to as they may have closed, but I decided the keys had to be still in the apartment. My neighbor helped me find Alex and he arrived in just 20 minutes. He was great, brought his tools up stairs and was friendly, respectful as well as extremely professional. He knows exactly what he was doing and had my door open in about 2 minutes. To my relief the house keys were where I normally left them so I could breathe again. Alex and I then spent a nice time chatting as we had a lot in common both entrepreneurs with strong interest in current events. He could have taken off as soon as he opened the door but he seemed to know I needed to destressed and his friendly conversation certainly helped with that. I called and got a quote over the phone. The agent said it would be $60 to change a lock and to get one of their locks it would cost $140. I got a call for an appointment at noon. Then another call that they would be late and will be here at 12:30pm. No show. So I texted the locksmith and he said he would be here at 1pm. Luckily, I wasn't in a hurry. He showed up after 1pm. But got me upset and writing such a review is that when the locksmith got here, he quoted me another amount which was from about $300 to $600 for a simple job of about ten minutes. Otherwise, it was a good job. At the end we used our new lock that we bought at the store. We paid the locksmith after all this $180 cash. I would not call them again for service. They charge a service charge just to show up and kept me waiting. read more

Service was fast but the door closer wasn't installed correctly and the arm ripped out of the door within a month. It cost about $900. They installed the same door closer I could buy on Amazon for about $150. They charged me $500 just for the closet itself. And then they did a crappy install of it by just putting wood screws into the door. I'm going to fix it myself by putting bolts all the way through the door like it should have been done in the first place. I should have just done this whole job myself and saved $750. I didn't bother call to ask them to come back and fix it because I don't want to get charged another huge fee for poor work-person-ship. Also be aware that they are more like a dispatcher who subcontracts with smaller locksmiths. You can probably get cheaper service just side stepping them and finding one of the smaller companies to do your job instead of paying their added fees to hire someone through them. Super responsive. He replied to my yelp quote request and problem was resolved within 1.5hrs of initial inquiry. First contact at 11:55am. I opted for service window of 2-4pm. He called to see if I was available at 1pm and was done at 1:20pm. Note, this was definitely not an urgent issue. Knew what he was doing. A Thule key broke off in a Kryptonite lock (it wasn't me - I swear) and I couldn't unlock the bike locked to a rack. My options: either key remnants could be picked out or cut the lock. He took a look and in 2 nano-seconds he was able to clear the debris. He also made sure that the lock still worked before leaving. Reasonably priced. I went with him because he was first to respond, but subsequent quotes came in higher, so it was a win-win for me. Highly recommend! read more

Im a busy physician, and part time landlord. Alex was Quick to respond, was the second locksmith i called. First locksmith quote was 80 dollars more, and pressured me to commit to having him come. I needed a mailbox key done, with the old lock drilled out (lost the key). Alex was cool, calm, professional, and accommodating to my schedule. I definitely understand the 5 star rating for this company. I spoke with Alex and made an appointment for him to come look at the lock. He called when he was on his way. Took a look at the lock and gave me options, to take the lock out and change it would cost $$$$, so he said he would open it up and try something else. He took a look and did some adjustments and the lock works better than it ever has and cost me very little.
