If I could give 0 stars I would. As a woman alone in my home I was treated with disrespect, carelessness, and lack of empathy. Waited a while to review because I was generally scared of every person I interacted with at Nova Locksmith. They have multiple people who get notified for a call without notifying the locksmiths who is picking up what job... this resulted in 3 very angry locksmiths at my house and one even quit Nova Locksmith on the spot because he was so upset. I contacted Alex to change the keys on my apartment as well as address an issue of my lock getting stuck when used. He was able to change the keys without any problem, but said that the lock getting stuck was a door alignment issue which is very expensive to fix but as a "favor" he would trim the metal plate to temporarily address the issue. Two days later, I was experiencing the same issue with the lock getting stuck so I called him back. His solution? Completely cut out the metal plate, fill it with some sort of wood putty leaving the door totally shaky and loose. It did not feel safe at all. Isn't that the number one priority of a locksmith? When I called him back the third time, he reiterated that cutting out the metal plate was a "favor" that he did for me, and that there is no other solution other than calling a door company to fix the "alignment issue". He also said that the metal plate I had was so rare and unique that there is no way he could replace it. Luckily I called another locksmith, who came out the same day and was able to replace the metal plate and fix the issue within 30 minutes. Essentially I had to hire someone else to fix the job that Alex did. Moral of the story-- save your time and money and find another locksmith, unless you want the same project to be done twice. Or if you don't know how to fix something, then just say that. read more

I purchased a new home and needed several locks rekeyed ASAP. I contacted Alex at 2:00 PM, and he responded to my inquiry in less than 30 minutes! I needed him to complete the job the same day and within a few hours. Alex was able to accommodate me. He even arrived at the house a bit earlier than he estimated, which was great! The most important door was the front, but I had no idea that the door and the lock were over 100 years old and would need specialized repair, including $700-900 of carpentry work. That is until Alex explained it all to me! He was able to rekey the lock and save me hundreds of dollars. He also skillfully rekeyed two other doors and installed a new door knob/lock on another. All of this work, expertise, and advice cost less than $400. And Alex is friendly, kind, and a great conversationalist. We broke a key off in the lock of our front door on a Saturday afternoon and could not leave our home. We contacted Nova and they arrived quickly and were able to remove the key in just a few minutes. Our lock is pretty elaborate and it was clear they understood exactly how it worked. They were able to take it apart and lubricated sections so that it now operates much better. They were also able to cut new, stronger keys for us on site.
