That's my perspective as a former organizational trainer... He also talked me out of a more complicated and expensive welding solution that I had in mind for the kind of iron entry gate that's fairly common around San Francisco. As far as value/cost... fair to say worth it, cheap insurance considering how much there was to lose. The whole story: Crisis Call #1: I needed to urgently rekey some entry locks due to suspicious goings on at my parents home, Alex arrived within the time range he quoted. One was an iron gate, the other, a European security door with a totally different locking mechanisms that also turned out to be missing a screw that of all things was to keep the lock itself from being punched out. Alex had the required screw in his truck. Crisis call #2: After a few days of rain the latch on decades old gate lock previously rekeyed as a stop gap started getting stuck and not latching due to built up internal rust residue that was not evident on the first call. Again a same day service call dealt with the problem. It was not an easy replacement, since the screw holes in the gate had rusted out, requiring a fair amount of time and effort to come up with a workable solution. Needless to say, I got exactly the lock type I wanted, without the welding expense previously mentioned, for the price quoted on the first call. The fact I decided to think about it instead of just replacing it as part of the first call cost me an extra service call, not Alex's fault.
