Two nails broke off after one week of having them done. Tried going in to get them redone and the lady who did them the week prior was asking all these questions about if I had really got them done there, who did it, etc. Couldn't fit me In to fix them, left and not coming back. ABSOLUTE WORST PEDICURE IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE I came to this place a few years back and the pedicure was okay. It was simple and got the job done. I thought to do the same thing except getting french tips. Right idea, wrong establishment. The girl hit my nail with the drill MULTIPLE times. My nails are chipped, the paint is smudged, the tips are uneven. I will NEVER go back to this place & I advise you to learn from my mistakes. read more

March 2023. I went to get an SNS manicure and gel pedicure and it was a WONDERFUL experience. It was my first visit to Nova on The Square and I was not disappointed. I left feeling pampered and beautiful. As of today (nearly a month later) I am just now going to get my SNS removed (I get them done on 2/28 and today is 3/25). My only regret is that I did not get my mail techs name. read more

The staff here was not friendly and welcoming. There was a language barrier. They were not able to answer any questions. At one point they gave my friend a box without saying anything. She was confused and they couldn't explain what it was. They got someone to help who was not friendly. My friend and I both walked out of there feeling like they were talking about us in a negative way. It was obvious they didn't think they were tipped highly enough. My polish came out nice but the rest of the pedicure was mediocre at best. read more

I've been loyally going to Anne for a year and she kills it EVERY time! The staff is amazing and friendly and my nails always get tons of compliments. I've never had a nail break or chip. Anne is the best at acrylics, plus she's great conversation the entire time I'm there. read more

Customer service is everything... and Nova is lacking. I rarely get my nails done here in Carrollton, preferring to go home on the weekends to my normal place. However there are often instances where I'll need to get them done here in town. I always seem to gravitate to Nova. I always end up feeling like I need to please the staff versus the opposite. They are not inviting or welcoming. I called ahead to make sure the time I was planning was going to be fine and that it wouldn't be overly busy yet caught some serious attitude when I showed up. I don't dress up nice when I get my nails done or running errands so I look like your typical college student. I felt judged the entire visit. I had planned on getting a lot more done but did not feel welcomed and wanted to leave as soon as I started getting my nails done.... Not a great way to act in a college town... The women working on me seemed from annoyed when I tried to customize my nail length and just overall had a grumpy and rude demeanor. As did the other staff. Getting your nails done should be a relaxing and enjoyable experience, especially if I am planning to spent serious cash there... Nova is not that place. I'll have to look elsewhere or continue making the drive home for my nails... not planning on being When I was leaving, some of the staff was outside talking negatively about the customers... not appropriate. read more

This place should be titled " NoGo on the Square"! My wife had a horrible experience. It was her first visit. No introduction just " Hey! I'm ready for you." and was pointed to the back. The girl pushed off an acrylic nail then stated there was no one there " this late" that could replace it. One was there but was " busy". This is an English speaking salon BTW. The employees were very unprofessional answering their cell phones and talking none stop about employees that were fired this day with all the details. Very unprofessional conversations. When it was time to pay, she was told there was an upcharge for removing old polish. Then they didn't take Amex. You go to a nail salon to be pampered. She couldn't wait to get out of this place. I have given this salon so many chances because i had heard such good things about them and every single time they are outstandingly rude and do a half-ass hack job. They are over priced for good nails and arent even good nails. I went to get s&s today and it is easily the worst nail experience I've ever had. Service and quality both suck. I literally had to tell her to pull a hair out of a nail that she was letting dry into the top coat, and couldn't even dust off the dust and black all over my fingers. read more

I'm appalled by some of the reviews on Yelp for this salon. It was an absolutely amazing experience! I usually go to New Nails off of Maple St. but always had an issue with the acrylics (specifically done by the man there) peeling off within a day or two because it was put on my skin and the nail instead of just the nail. Upon walking in, I could see that it's a beautiful salon and was clean. I had talked to the the lady that did my acrylics about the issues I had with New Nails, and she understood. There was no "language barrier" at all and saying so just because they may not be articulate or loud enough in English is completely ignorant. Even though they were speaking to eachother in their foreign language, I could tell it wasn't anything negative. It's America, get used to it already. The ladies were actually talking and laughing with other customers who were getting pedicures. The attention to detail was incredible in the time she spent doing my nails. Definitely worth the extra $10 more than I usually spend at New Nails. read more

My regular nail lady was out sick, so I thought I would try a new place. Nova nail on the Square gave me the worst manicure and pedicure I have ever had. My cuticles were done in 60 seconds and looked horrible. My heels were not touched. The gentleman who did my nails was about 70 years old and acted like he had never seen the manicure tools they gave him to work on me. It took him 20 minutes to remove my gel polish. My regular nail salon had a fire, so I went to this one. Worst idea ever! I got a "deluxe" pedicure, and the young girl didn't even touch my heels. She acted as if she didn't want to be there. When asked about doing the heels, she said that it's illegal and that she wasn't going to pay a fine. I received no foot massage, either. I will NEVER go there again! If you go, DO NOT let the young lady near you. The older lady was good. I think that she owns the place. read more

Had an average experience here. We were there on a Saturday and there was only one other customer in the store when we arrived. We were waited on immediately. We got the basic pedicure for $20 and it was fine. Nothing great, but it was adequate. Nails look nice, not a very good leg or foot massage. read more

I travel for work and rely on reviews to help me find restaurants and nail salons. I was disappointed to find that there were no salons in the area with good reviews. I chose Nova on the Square because it is close to the Courtyard where I was staying. Just had my nails painted with gel polish but Chris did a great job. I had an issue with one the next day (which let's be honest- happens anywhere you go) and came back to the salon. It was fixed without attitude, in fact, with a smile. Great customer service.
